Ssso....huh....are we gonna need to go back out to thossse woodsss....?
Krista asks with a sense of confusion building within.
"Wait," says Jack. "What's Crystal Shores?"
The name kind of rings a bell, but I don't know very much about it. (Wanda comments.)
"I haven't heard the name before, but from what I can glean from this article, it seems to be somewhere near town," says Peter. "So monsters have been showing up there too, then... interesting."
He pauses and thinks for a moment.
"Jack's right, Gregory must have already known about the temple. That would explain why he was interested in this article, and why he wanted to follow Professor Diggs there."
"Wait, does that mean... he's looking for something in Crystal Shores? Maybe another crystal?"
Well, if there's another crystal out there in this other town, don't we need to beat him to it? (Wanda asks.)
Uh...yeah, we will have to. How ssssoon do we have the ability to even get out there...?
"Yeah, we should probably go," says Peter. "There may be something important there. I hope it's not already too late. We need to find out how to get there, though. I wonder if there's anything else in here that could be useful..."
He looks through the papers for another minute or so, then stops on one of the last pages, where there are a few job requests.
"Ah, look here!" he says. "There's a request from someone who's interested in Crystal Shores!"
"That's great!" says Jack. "Does it say anything about a temple?"
"It doesn't mention a temple, no," says Peter. "Actually, it says that they're looking for some sort of rare animal there."
"Huh..." says Jack. "I wonder what that means. I can't wait to see it!"
Rare animal? I don't know but....sssseemsss pretty odd to me, no?
Do you think Gregory would want anything with them? (Wanda asks.)
I'd abssssolutely think he would have ssssomething to with them...
"You guys think he could be after this animal, too?" says Peter, reading over the article again. "It's possible, but I wonder why that would be... the person who posted this request is a journalist for this same paper, apparently."
"Hmm. Should we go talk to them?"
"I think we should, yeah," says Peter. "I've got the address here, if you guys are ready to go."
I'm ready if you guys are.
"Well, we're off, then!" says Peter, stashing the paper in his bag. After thanking the inkeeper for letting them examine the room, he leads the group outside and to the address given in the job request.
The headquarters of the Carrier Pigeon newspaper are located in the busiest part of town, where one can find several offices, stores, and restaurants. It's about noon now, and the street is full of animals scurrying back and forth as they go out to lunch or to run errands.
Peter and the others reach the building, which is fairly large and has several floors, with a glass door leading to the lobby.
"Quite different from the professor's cozy little office, isn't it?" he says.
"Yeah," says Jack. "To be honest, I don't do too well in crowded spaces..."
You and me both....ssssometimessss I feel like a box isss closssing on me when I'm in a place like thissss.
(Wanda looks visibly uncomfortable as well.) Same here...we gonna hurry up and get inside this place already?
"Yeah, it at looks a bit less crowded in there," says Peter, peeking through the glass door. He pulls it open and heads into the news station with the others. The place is filled with dozens of desk covered in papers and typewriters, and all of the workers are busy with something; some typing away while others seem to be on the phone.
"Wow... is this place always like this?" says Peter. "I wonder if there's someone we can talk to... ah, that guy over there looks like a receptionist," he says, gesturing towards a stork sitting at the desk nearest the group.
Krista tries to slither up to the front desk to dine the receptionist.
