The Rule of Cautious Editing Judgment exists to prevent tropers from making agenda-based edits or bringing up irrelevant controversial issues, but it's not always obvious if something breaks the rule or not. This thread serves the purposes of:
- Getting consensus on cutting overly controversial edits.
- Rewriting biased examples to be more neutral.
- Pre-emptively clarifying if a possible example actually violates the rule, or if it's okay to add.
- Making sure that the rule isn't just being used as an excuse to write a Zero-Context Example ("Some people think that X is Y, and that's all we have to say about it.")
See also the thread "Trump and ROCEJ" for the specific topic of tropers sneaking their political views (not just views regarding Donald Trump, despite the title) onto the wiki.
See Pages Attracting Edits That Promote Bigotry for pages that attract ROCEJ violations that are bigoted in nature.

Coming from someone who hasn't watched Cinema Sins in a long time, I have no idea where that came from. That's definitely line-crossing for a DMOS entry.
(Don't) take me home.Part of me wants to say "It's DMOS, let it go", but another part of me is screaming "WTF is that entry".
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI don't think venom this bad is allowed on DMOS anyway. Should it be cut?
(Don't) take me home.also, the username stuff is just... weird. Branch_823, Dumas Law, Law_823, and back to Branch_823. none of which are their actual username.
is this ban evasion? that doesn't make sense, but it makes more sense than anything else i can think of.
It might just be them trying to wipe away the blame and give it to some random other troper. What I'm curious about is if those other usernames are real.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessThose usernames do share similarities. Not sure why'd they pin it on another if that's the case.
(Don't) take me home.i checked and it doesn't appear so. TV Tropes usernames can't have underscores in them, anyway.
Well they can, but doing so breaks the functionality. Either way, if they don't exist they don't exist.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI think this is their way of getting around the fact that you can't change your handle here (unlike on websites such as Twitter).
Should we summon them here?
Avatar by Butterscotch Arts. Used under license.any time there might be a suspicion of "anti-SJW" stuff, i personally am very leery of messaging the troper involved. people like that have a tendency to blow up, and i have no desire to put myself in the way of bigotry. would rather the mods handle it.
That, and the dash in their username makes me unsure if we can ping them anyway.
I think the best option is to go to ATT.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI've seen this user on other DMOS pages and they also use the other usernames there. Might not malicious, they might just dislike their current username.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.I can send a DM to them if you wish if you open a ATT thread.
Why waste time when you can see the last sunset last?^ Please don't. Like Chloe said, people like this tend to meltdown on ATT.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessGotcha so what are we gonna do?

Why waste time when you can see the last sunset last?We can make an ATT report to report their behavior and look into their edits more, but we shouldn't call them over to it. If there's an issue, the mods can just have them talk it out in edit banned... where they can be thumped if they get pissed.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI'm really sorry if I sound stupid here.
A few days ago I remembered that we have a page on E Semicolon R, an analysis channel who judging by the content of his page, seems to lean a lot into offensive humor. That wouldn't be so much a problem if it didn't take up most of the page, and if some of the entries on the page are... questionable, to say the least:
- Berserk Button:
- Political Correctness Gone Mad is another big one. He often goes out of his way to mock social justice and feminist themes in the media he reviews and will happily use racially charged and gender based comedy in his videos. Naturally, he also dislikes characters he perceives as Mary Sues and/or writer inserts.
- And of course, being a Hypocrite in general. Of particular note is his video on The Legend of Korra: Turf Wars, where he chastises Irene Koh for having the nerve to complain that the world of Avatar ''isn't inclusive enough'' (despite her profile picture implying that she is trying to make herself look ''white'' through her lightened skin tone, blonde dyed hair, and blue contact lenses), even going so far as to compare her to Koh the Face Stealer (mocked as Koh the ''Race'' Stealer).
- The reason why he criticizes the modern feminist protagonists in modern media is because to him, they behave like self-absorbed, entitled narcisisstic jerks to everyone they meet, all while being completely unrelatable to the audience with their relative lack of struggle in their character arcs.
- Crosses the Line Twice: Imagine if Rucka Rucka Ali dropped his music career to make provocative and edgy media reviews on Youtube. Boom. You now know who E;R is. (Hell, you can just look at the picture on the main page if you ever need a reminder of this.)
- Moment of Awesome: Him telling Pedantic Romantic to shut up after months of her trying to blame PewDiePie for spreading bigotry and her using the end of the “Subscribe to Pewdiepie” meme to claim “I told you so”.
You: hey i was implying the meme itself was the problem rather than the few bad apples that mixed in with the millions taking part in the innocent fun. probability? what's that? Pewds: Hey, it was fun, but some people spoiled that, so let's stop. You: ha i was right
- While now deleted, there was entry on the page about him having potentially transphobic opinions, cut for the reason "Thanks for the boring screed but this isn't your twitter". Said entry was previously edited to remove the word "transgenderism".
- Even the picture on the main page is supposed to be tentacle porn, I believe.
Any thoughts?

Why do we even have that page?
Avatar by Butterscotch Arts. Used under license.Does he have creative content?
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessReviews, it seems.
a lot of that is troping him as a person, which is a problem we run into repeatedly with these review channels. does he produce anything that's original work or is it just the reviews?
also... definitely needs to be rewritten to not be gushy about how offensive it is.
it looks like most of the substantive edits to the page were made by ~Potato Patato, ~Ace Triad, and ~Fourze 99; any of you guys want to help clean the page up so it can be kept?
because we don't delete pages just because of the content of what they're about. if he doesn't have any tropable works, that's one thing, but cutting the page should be a last resort.

I'm glad someone brought this up. I didn't know about E Semicolon R before finding his trope page, so I can't speak from any position of experience, but the page sets off... all sorts of red flags. It seems to go "oh, he's a Caustic Critic who makes a lot of dark and tasteless jokes," and then virtually all examples of his "jokes" just happen to be bashing feminists and minorities.
Googling him gives me pages straight-up calling him racist and alt-right, but our page doesn't.
Again, he has creative content, so I don't believe his page should be cut, but it really feels... sugar-coated.
Another entry that sets off alarm bells (under Accentuate the Negative):
"His videos are written and purposed to dress down their subject matter as cuttingly and abrasively as possible, re-framing them as the worst of the worst in scripted entertainment in brutal contrast to the penchant of popular journalism and fandom to glowingly pedestal them as the greatest. Notable targets include The Legend of Korra, the Disney Star Wars movies (particularly the sequel trilogy), and Life Is Strange."
The other two franchises may count, but since when is the Star Wars sequel trilogy a Sacred Cow? I've seen plenty of criticism (fair and otherwise) of it, far more so than unconditional praise. But it had a woman and a black man in major roles, so of course it has to be universally praised just so people like E;R can cry about Political Correctness Gone Mad.

It does not matter who I am. What matters is, who will you become? - motto of Omsk BirdPerhaps the page should give examples of his humor so we know they’re actually jokes and not racist or offensive comments under the "Just Joking" Justification
Why waste time when you can see the last sunset last?I mostly brought it up because it seemed to be similar to the cut Mister Metokur entry from a few months back. Sorry for not clarifying.
