Roleplay Namespace Cleanup and Maintenance

Alrighty, Astral Cabal's character pages have been cleaned up. I've also cleaned up Archipelago Exodus and its multiple character pages; there weren't enough tropes there to really justify so much subpages, especially after I scrubbed them of ZCE's, but consensus over at ATT was to keep the bookmarks on the page and it's too late for me to figure out how to merge pages properly without disrupting Anchor Points.

• Celestial Refresh: Main page needed cleaning. Specifically needed alphabetization cleanup in addition to ZCEs and the like. Has commented-out YMMV examples on main page, due to me not knowing if they're invoked or not. Moved stuff from character's page.
• Cerberus Daily News: Lotsa cleanup needed, including two character's pages don't seem bad enough to get the move-and-cut method. Has some YMMV and Trivia tropes on the main page. Unfortunately, it's also under administrative lock, so this may have to be done in a sandbox. I'll worry about that later.
• Chagion: Short page with a lot of ZCEs, but has just enough to be keepable. YMMV page is only ZCEs, so that can be cut.
• Channel Despair: Danganronpa, because we can never have a single post without it. It's mostly ZCEs, but still keepable, with tropes from the character's page being moved.
• Character Development Thread: Not an RP, but a bunch of roleplays all from that one thread. Will go through it later.
• Charchat: Them ZCEs tho...Has at least three good examples, so it can stay, but yeesh. 95% of the examples are "trope— character". The page isn't indexed, and the link doesn't work anymore. Not a shock, since the page is so old the creation isn't recorded- all 4 edits, including mine, are cleanup edits. Title is so generic that google-fu is failing me.
• Cherno Alpha vs. the World: Could be worse. Needed basic cleanup on both main and character's pages.
• Children Of Ao: On one hand, it's tiny and has three good tropes. On the other hand, some trope misuse (including a Magnificent Bastard example!) and no attempt at alphabetization. Link leads to nothing. Interestingly, the page was apparently made by FE himself.
• Children Of Bear: This one is pretty good. Almost no cleanup needed, and the link works.

Update on The Caligula Effect Placebo: The editor PM'd me about how they've not been part of the RP for months, and said that if the link isn't working, the page can be cut. I think we can toss it on Darth.

Couldn't find anything for Charchat. I did get a forum going by the same name, but a rudimentary search-through didn't yield any of the same characters described on the page, so I think it's a different group.

I was more successful with Children Of Ao and found this Tumblr blog for it- according to the first post there, the old website was taken out by a lightning strike and they migrated the roleplay over to Tumblr. The old roleplay was lost, but they do have an archived summary of it. I'm going to skim through it, see if I can't add a couple more tropes to the page, and link to it.

Cleaning up some pages the now, but I came across ATL Meetup, an AlternateHistory.com roleplay that's only accessible to those with an account on the site. One of the page's editors, Glide08, is around, so I sent them a PM. They confirmed there isn't a way to view it without an account, but they also believe that its accessibility to the public is enough of a gray area that they aren't sure about having it moved to Unpublished Works. I've linked them to this thread in case they want to make a more detailed case for it.

• A Tale Of Heroes: Abandoned original roleplay. Little clean-up, mostly ZCE's, and character page is unindexed. No subpages.
• Ataraxion: Abandoned crossover roleplay. Whole lotta ZCE's. No subpages.
• Ather City: Original roleplay with two finished threads and one abandoned. Quite a few ZCE's (some of which had already been scrubbed), lot of natter that had to go, but otherwise was alright. Has WMG and YMMV subpages.
• Attack On Lololo 4: Abandoned crossover roleplay. Some ZCE's, needed indexing, nothing noteworthy aside.
• Autobot Academy: Abandoned Transformers roleplay that's also an ongoing Transformers webcomic by the same person. Page is mostly about the roleplay and has a Webcomic/ redirect. Besides that, not much to comment on. ZCE's, needed indexing, and character page clean-up. Nightmare Fuel and WMG subpages.
• Aut Omnia Aut Nihil: Finished original roleplay. Some ZCE's, nothing noteworthy besides. No subpages.
• Auxiliorum Res Septem: Discord-based Homestuck roleplay with no link. An editor for the page last edited in July this year, so I've PM'd them for more info.
• Avatar Adventures: Ongoing (was updated this month anyway) crossover roleplay. Page had issues with formatting and ZCE's, especially the character page, which has been cutlisted after tropes were moved. No subpages.
• Avatar High: Ongoing crossover roleplay. Same as above; ZCE's and a bad character page that's been cut. No subpages, though VideoGame.Avatar High shares a name.
• Avo Agency: Discord roleplay with no link, a stubby page, and nothing found on Google. Page editor hasn't been around for a year. Easy move to DarthWiki.Avo Agency.

One more quick page before I go to bed- we already cleared Cape and Cowl, but I found out that its sequel Mask Or Menace has its own page here (I recommended it to my friend, who was looking around for Dreamwidth RP's to participate in, and he happened on to the tvt page for it). It's short, no subpages, and only had a couple of ZCE's to clean up.

• Chrono Stars: Got the whole range of subpages. It's a D&D roleplay, which made me nervous, but there's an entire wiki for it, so even if the actual roleplay is unavailable, there's some content to be found on the interwebs. What do you guys think? That said, it needed cleanup, and it ain't indexed. Character's page needed cleaning too- that one also isn't indexed.
• Cirque des Rêves: Main page needed minor cleanup. Character's page needed the "move-and-cut" method. Abandoned DA RP.
• Cirque du Nie: Another abandoned DA RP in need of a scrub. Cutlisted the YMMV page for being all ZCEs.
• Cirque Mortum: Another dang Danganronpa RP. Link was missing, but I found it. It does that weird "pothole a trope to it's normal name" nonsense. Character's page given my usual treatment.
• Cirque Mystique: O Ookay, this is a big one. The main page itself is long but won't be too bad, but it has multiple, giant character pages. Shelving this one for now. ...Also, the content on ProBoards is lost along with the site, sooo...yeah.
• Citta Alveare: Had to go link searching and the pages needed cleaning, but it's otherwise alright.

Anyway, I'm wondering if we should have a separate index just for Danganronpa RP's?

• Chrono Stars: I definitely think linking to the wiki from the page is a good idea. Skimming through the wiki, there's some decent explanation of the setting and the character pages seem to have good summaries of the actual RP, so I think it can stay.
• Cirque Mystique: The ProBoards site works just fine for me, and there's a ton of content on it. It might be a fault on your computer's end?

As for a Dangan Ronpa roleplay index, I'd worry that it would be redundant with FanWorks.Danganronpa, which already has an indexed list of DR roleplays.

I'll clean up the rest of 'A' and then I can lend a hand to some of the bigger RP pages.

• A World Beyond: Abandoned original roleplay. ZCE's, alphabetisation issues, and a bad character page that's been cutlisted. Has a YMMV page.
• A World In Darkness: Ongoing The World of Darkness roleplay. Minor issues with ZCE's and alphabetisation, but otherwise is a decent page, especially the character page. Has YMMV page.
• A World Of Heroes: Abandoned original roleplay. Page covers both the original RP and its reboot. Loads of ZCE's, especially for the original RP, but otherwise was fine. Funny subpage.
• A World Without America: Abandoned original roleplay. Short page, has ZCE's and needed link-finding, but otherwise no problems. No subpages.
• Axiom Nexus: Finished crossover roleplay. Needed link-finding, and 95% of the page was ZCE's of the 'Trope: Character Name' variety, but there's enough to be kept. YMMV subpage.

Barring pages that need to be moved to Darth Wiki, or are waiting on word from page editors, 'A' is now done and dusted \o/

Current Project: Incorruptible Pure Pureness

• City of Chains: Needed basic cleanup. A good number of "trope happens" or "x is this" type examples. Otherwise, fine. A completed Dragon Age II RP.
• City of Lost Characters: A massive page for an ongoing TVT Roleplay. There are a handful of ZCEs, but it seems alright otherwise, though the character's page is a bit worse. Sent a ZCE notifier to a participant, and took that time to tell them about this discussion as well, so hopefully that'll help. For now, I'll leave it be, and come back to it later if my PM fails.
• City Of Unity: No link. Found a stubby wiki-article about it, but that has no link either- there was a link to a Tumblr blog mentioning it, though...which sucks, because the RP itself actually sounded interesting based on the tropes applied. Otherwise, cleaned up the page.
• Clark Kallen And His Merry Band: Had to go link-finding. Page needed a lot of scrubbing. There's a weird, commented-out section just for character's stats, which I cut and merged with the normal description. Character's page is bad, and should feel bad. Also cut the YMMV page.
• Class E Chronicles: Neither link seems to work. Page was cleaned already by Xfllo, as was the character's page.
• Class Trials: My Daily Dose of Danganronpa. It's a big page for a Reddit RP, and needed a good scrubbing. Lots of trope misuse and subjective tropes, some of which I bothered to move to the YMMV page. A lot of empty folders that I deleted.

Tomorrow I’m probably gonna sift through the list of unavailable roleplays we have and see which ones can safely be cut/moved to Darth Wiki.

One sift through with the Wayback Machine later:

• A-GENTS: Originally I thought it wasn't unavailable, but another search through the deviantart gleans this. I don't know if it's a sequel, a reboot, or an archive, but there's plenty of it and it's set in the same universe, which works for me.
• Bleach New Horizons: Originally the link to this was broken, but the Wayback Machine revealed what it used to look like- including a link to the remade website where the roleplay now is.
• Bleach Platinum Hearts: Same as above: had a broken link, but Wayback Machine led me to the remade version of the site. Even more surprisingly, it's still ongoing!
• Charchat: Originally we couldn't find anything for this, but the Wayback Machine has a pretty solid archive of its old threads.

Now, two more difficult cases:

• Advance Wars Role Play: Roleplay that was wiped from its website. Wayback Machine couldn't get any of the actual RP, but it did get the RP's old wiki which contains some pages with info about it. I'm not sure if it's enough to keep it around though.
• Adylheim: Had a defunct link. Wayback Machine got me the old website: some of the pages work, some don't, the roleplay's kind of in bits and pieces. But it was also the sort that didn't have the single, linear storyline anyway (more just 'here's a bunch of places where your characters can meet up and talk), so the patches might be enough to keep the page.

As for the rest, I went through our unavailable roleplay folder and gathered up all the ones that aren't a) awaiting a response from the page editor/work creator, and/or b) aren't merely locked behind subscription/account, as those cases's availability are debatable. Unless anyone wants to contest the migration of these RP's over to Unpublished Works, then I'll begin doing so tomorrow:

Oh, forgot to mention it, but I found a new link for Class E Chronicles. I'm gonna add it to the page. For City Of Unity, Wayback Machine shows its old website- on one hand, it wasn't able to archive any of the actual RP logs posted on the forum, but it does archive a general timeline/description of the setting along with all the character sheets, so it might be enough to stay.

Alrighty, everything's been moved over to Darth Wiki with two exceptions:

• Blaz Blue 3 RP: I looked over the page and noticed that Recap.Blaz Blue 3 RP has an extensive list of events that happened in the RP, which might be enough to keep it around.
• A New Age: Talk about a last-minute save. I had the Darth Wiki page for this one made, but just happened to check its Related wicks first. They lead me to a different RP by the same GM, which led me to a website, and searching "A New Age" there brought up the whole archive of it! I'm guessing mgcomics doesn't show up on Google Searches, because all the key words I previously used to search for the RP are all there on the forum thread. Anyway, I cleaned it up and updated the sandbox for it.

Once all the cuts have been processed and approved/disapproved, then I'll update the sandbox and index them all on Unpublished Works.

Wow, lucky save.

It's been almost a month since any page on Roleplay.Wikizilla Roleplay was edited. There's still no sign of an easily digestible summary/log even on its own wiki, and after reading through a small discussion on the Fandom website, I've found the chat where the RP (currently?) takes place requires log in to view/participate. This will be moved to DarthWiki and cut at the end of the week if I hear no objections.

No objections from me.

Hit a slight funk IRL, but I got a couple of pages done nevertheless:

• Cirque Mystique: Hoo boy, this page was hard to parse. Lot of ZCE's, misused tropes, and generally poor grammar that made it difficult to read. All but one of the character pages were devoid of tropes, so I moved content over and then sent them to the cutlist.
• Disney Conquest: This has been on our plate for a while, but it wasn't too hard to deal with. Had four sparse character pages, so I consolidated them onto the main character page and then cutlist the excess. Tabs already dealt with the ZCE issues the page has.

I need a second opinion on how to handle an issue with Roleplay.Character Development Thread. It's a bunch of roleplays played out in separate threads that are all connected by a single discussion thread. Some of the roleplays have separate work pages that are namespaced thusly:

• CharacterDevelopmentThread.Titanic
• CharacterDevelopmentThread.Heist
• CharacterDevelopmentThread.University
• etc.

Of particular note is CharacterDevelopmentThread.Adventure, which only lists information about the roleplay and no tropes, which are reserved for the badly namespaced CharacterDevelopmentThreadAdventure.Trope Page

There's precedent for using this sort of namespace convention when there's too many tropes for the main page, or weird cases like Disney/ and Discworld/, but I'm not sure how applicable it is here, especially since they're all for separate threads.

These pages all have extraneous information unrelated to troping, such as a list of characters, guidelines, locations, etc. Some of them have too few tropes to warrant their own page (Titanic, Cantina) some have a good dozen or two tropes (Heist, University, Capital) and some are long enough to warrant a separate page (Dream II, Adventure, Space Liner)

Should these be put in Roleplay/? Kept where they are in CharacterDevelopmentThread/? Or even moved to Recap/?

List of proposed actions for how to deal with this:

• For pages that have too few tropes: Cutlist them and move the tropes over to the main page.
• For pages that have a decent amount of tropes:
  • Cutlist them and move the tropes over to the main page, perhaps in their own folder.
  • OR, move the pages to the recap namespace (ie. Recap.Character Development Thread Heist, Recap.Character Development Thread University, etc.)
  • OR, do clean-up but leave them in their current namespace.
• For pages that have a large amount of tropes:
  • Move them from their current pages to ones with the Roleplay/ namespace (ie. Roleplay.Character Development Thread Dream II, Roleplay.Character Development Thread Adventure, etc.)
  • OR, do clean-up but leave them in their current namespace.
• Regarding the extra information such as lists of characters, locations, and guidelines: Delete them. They're not tropes, and thus they're not necessary for the trope pages.
• The main thread for this roleplay is still active and kicking, so I could drop a message in there informing them of any changes we're going to make to the page, so we can get feedback from them and they can also save any of the to-be-deleted information if they haven't already.

CharacterDevelopmentThread is not a legitimate media namespace, so they should probably be moved to Roleplay.

The more I think about the medium-sized pages, the more inclined I am to sift through them and either move them to their own Roleplay/ pages too, or move to the main page with their own folder if there isn't quite enough content to justify its own page.
