This thread will be to list pages whose pics are fine as is but are needing quality upgrades, so we don't take up space in the forum with individual threads for them.
Swapping a pic with a better-quality version is a free action, as is swapping a pic with a larger identical version to fit the new image size criteria (800px minimum width). If there are more changes in the proposed swap (e.g. less text, slightly different coloring or crop), however, you might want to post here first.
Resources:
- Reverse image search engines like Google Image Search
, Tineye
, Yandex
, and Bing
are useful for finding larger-quality versions.
- SauceNAO
can locate artwork sources.
- GIMP
(download), Photopea
, and Photoroom
are good freeware for simple manipulations like increasing brightness or removing backgrounds.
Please add pages that need work to the following Sandbox page: Artifacts 'R' Us

The images on Funny. The Simpsons Seasons 1 To 5, Funny. The Simpsons Seasons 6 To 8, and Funny. The Simpsons Seasons 9 To 16 are all grainy JPGs.
I'm no expert at analyzing an image's implicit quality (I'm not sure what "artifacted" means, for example), but I'm worried that the image in Journey to the Sky might need some sort of upgrade. It is the image I had put back in TLP, but I don't how how to edit or upgrade images so I uploaded it sicut est.
135 -> 180 -> 273 -> 191 -> 188 -> 230 -> 300 -> 311Artifacts are image distortions caused by compression. Jpegs are prone to them, which is why we prefer pngs (which are lossless). Here's a pretty good explanation
.
We also like images to be transparent, so they look good in night vision.
To demonstrate, here is a quality swap I just did today on ComicBook.Quicksilver:
Old:

New:

See how the colors and lines are cleaner and not as "grainy"? And how if you turn on night vision you don't get a bright white background?

It's funny because we're all living in a simulation and free will is a lie.Gasshole is noticeably a jpeg, especially on the words and hair.
Edit: Fixed

My favorite sci fi enemies are the giant sexy depressed womenFilm.Casa De Mi Padre needs a quality upgrade. I notice a few creases in the poster.
The images are both pretty different, so you should start a thread for the page.
What the Fu Are You Doing? looks awful.
The pictures on How to Split a Page depict a much older design of this site than the current one.
Cave Johnson, we're done here.
