Smashing Hallway Traps of Doom doesn't look perfectly (it's a 256 color static .gif but the system has 32768 colors).

I upgraded Crash Fever, its the slightest bit but its noticable flipping back and forth. Also did Swiss-Army Appendage.

Alright Quality Upgrade Gang, I have a question for you.

Are we alright with bypassing protocall for upgrades that have the exact same idea but different source pictures? I did this for Iconic Item and Iconic Logo and Not Allowed to Grow Up, although Not Allowed to Grow Up was the only one i did the thread for just as a safety since I wasn't sure how it'd go and it passed by really fast which is ideal. I do actually like the democratic nature of image picking, but in cases like this it can be quite cumbersome to have to question a quality upgrade just because its not 100% pure original despite being the exact same idea that there's generally not an objection to.

If people are on board with this there are some I'll get faster on making updates for, that I've been waiting for like Merchandise-Driven and Composite Character.

Side note... It's really fun and stress relieving doing this, I've had some rough times lately but I wanna thank you guys for helping that, especially the regulars.

I took care of it now because Atlantis was my favorite Disney movie growing up.

Sonic SatAM's characters page has several pics in folders that need upgrades, per this thread.

Started looking for an upgrade for Kavorka Man... this is apparently an uncropped version, but I'm not sure if the colors are better. Doesn't jump out as much with reduced contrast.

@Yabukuron, I had the same question a few months ago when I wanted to swap the Bedlah Babe image with something similar to it because I couldn't find a good version of the original. There wasn't really a conclusive answer, but Willbyr was okay with it, so I imagine it's fine as long as it's not too different.

I personally agree with this mentality as well

I'm fine with it. We can manually adjust the colors if need be.

I'm good with the suggested upgrade to Kavorka Man.

Crossover-Enthusiast; Yeah, Wilbyr is the one who told me to bring it up here a while back but I'm just getting to it now. I just want more solid confirmation that people are alright with it before I continue doing it.

My intentions when I do it are always 100% to keep the same energy/idea as the original when I have to, since I'm rarely doing it specifically on purpose. The reasons I changed stuff for each of those were only: It was easier to find the modern Microsoft logo, I felt like the 11th doctor's sonic looks less like a pen and more recognizable as a whole for the item, and well the ash one was about making it not 9 years out of date as well as the fact I couldn't get a good transparent cut of the original series pic.

Aside from the ash one, the bigger ones take about an hour to do since i work at them at much bigger than wiki size for better quality scaled down (also sometimes getting rid of slight artifacting when resized). That's also how long it took for the one time I did a complete remake doing most of it myself like Pokémon Speak lol

but since people seem to be fine with it I feel alright in continuing with the mindset I'm on here

I'll look at Sonic SatAM and see if i can find worthy replacements for the character pictures, though if I can't I'll leave it to someone else.

I could try to play with the Kavorka Man image colors but it depends if we think we 100% need it

Crooked Contractor is super tiny and has some oddly sharp edges.

Anyone know what Archie issue the image on Girls Are Really Scared of Horror Movies is taken from so we can do an upgrade?

From the previous thread, it appears to be◊ Betty and Me #180.

Music.Spice Girls could stand to be upgraded. It's a two-part image, if it means anything.

The image on A King's Tale: Final Fantasy XV is pretty poor. The current image is this with the Xbox One banner cropped off, but unfortunately it saves as a JPEG despite the URL ending in PNG, which makes pixel art look really bad. There's also this and this, which are both PNGs and could be reduced by half to get the pixel art 1:1, but both would go over the width limit even then.

Also, the image on The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening is a JPEG over the width limit. Can I replace it with this, or is it too light?

A little too light, but otherwise great. Then again, maybe we should wait until the remake comes out, as it may have something more illustrative, though its artstyle may be a problem.

The pic on Deko Boko Friends is really fuzzy. Air Gear isn't quite as bad but is a little artifacted.
