Wolfenstein: Youngblood Ė Official E3 2019 Trailer
out July 26 2019
Killing Nazis. Look as long as it plays well (and the A.I. isnít as dumb as rocks or necessitates co-op) Iím down.
Copypaste from the Steam Store Page
Nineteen years after the events of Wolfenstein II, BJ Blazckowicz has disappeared after a mission into Nazi-occupied Paris. Now, after years of training from their battle-hardened father, BJís twin daughters, Jess and Soph Blazkowicz, are forced into action.
Team up with a friend or play alone. Level up, explore, and complete missions to unlock new abilities, weapons, gadgets, cosmetics, and more to complement your playstyle and customize your appearance.
Wolfenstein: Youngblood features the most open-ended Wolfenstein experience to date. From a new base of operations located deep in the heart of the Paris catacombs, plan how and when to attack and dismantle the Nazi regime.
This answers my big question of if it was going to be all co-op or if it was going to have a single-player mode. And it looks like it will have a single-player mode, excellent!
I'm surprised they are advancing the timeline this much. They probably did it mostly so they could use BJ's daughters as the player characters, but it definitely gives the impression that dismantling the Nazi Empire has been slow going after the second American Revolution got kicked off at the end of New Colossus.
Also, random prediction. My guess is that the whole purpose of BJ's mission (and therefore the ultimate objective of the game) is to scope out and sabotage the Nazi's coastal defenses in preparation for a D-day style invasion where the US and any other nations that were liberated offscreen launch a full scale assault into mainland Europe.
This reminds me of Half-Life: Decay.
Somehow missed the story trailer that was released back in March
