only had issues with this game.
Nah, it persisted at 1440 and 1080. It's dumb.
At least I'm not one of the people that has NP Cs randomly not rendering or fading in or out at odd distances. ._.
I got my tech head friend on the case. He's mostly confirmed what I suspected. Your gfx card likely IS the problem. The 3090s aren't good for video gaming because they're unstable. His exact words were, "They're only good for idiots bitcoin mining or dudebros bragging."

Your friend can, with all due respect, go fuck himself. Hint: I'm not the only person to randomly have this problem, and not everyone who's had this problem has a 3090. Shockingly, this problem also only being on this game and literally no other graphically intensive game I've played is another big clue. Also seems to have largely calmed down (but may go back to being a pain once I run into another boss and it's gathering shaders like crazy)
I also needed the VRAM for machine learning stuff. It wasn't a random choice. ._.
Now, do you actually have anything to say about the game, or just want to report any more random ass third party's completely random opinions on silicon? ~_~

speaking of the game, yay, RNG armour drops are back. Because... I dunno. Fucking hell, From, do we need to farm 20k souls just to get a full armour set from one enemy...

When I have the time to install I will yeah, and then maybe I can find what to fine tune to get it running for you better. However I got to deal with shitass American xfinity internet with no ethernet cable (mine fucking died last year, its been trash since I can't rerun a new cable) so I need 8hrs of free time where I can't really do anything else x.x
Edit: Wouldn't be a souls game without needing to farm SOME random enemy for an item with a .000001% drop rate.

mmm, I think i'm inclined to believe the shader caching explanation tbh. It wouldn't explain why it's inconsistent on how much it affects people, but it would go a long way to explaining why it's been fine mostly exploring the world and spending an hour trying to get one stupid piece of armour to drop, whilst sir shiny horse knight with the sfx attacks in an area with oh so many things to reflect off of or obfuscate kept doing it.
And why no other game I can remember playing in the last... year and a half? Had random inexplicable framedrops from 60 to like... 2 or 3 fps whenever there was a new attack. Even the buggy releases. <_>
Could be worse. My friend's been trying to solve the invisible enemies problem, and work out why her GPU is sitting at like... 10% util. On a computer with no igpu to accidentally use.
yeah but there's that and there's "screw you, here's two pieces of every other part of the armour and NO GAUNTLETS". :<

Jesus, that's not right. I can't even begin to think what would be causing a card to only use 10%. How does that even happen? lol
My personal theory is honestly what you said combined with the latest nvidia driver that supposedly was meant for the game being from the 14th (AMD cards typically get their drivers later anyway so those with Radeon cards might be experiencing hiccups due to the optimization drivers for their cards not existing yet). I think the game should be patched by the end of the weekend because I've seen a couple news places talking about FROM being aware of the stability issues with the game. So that combined with, hopefully, a newer driver ver. hitting this weekend from nvidia should, in theory, fix the problem.
Yeah. I'm completely baffled. Like, if it was the lack of CPU grunt then I could see the game running like shit and low util, but that's not what's happening. It's the game running fine, some enemies not rendering, and the GPU just doodling along. <_>
And it's not even consistent in hardware. Like, a glance at steam forums and reddit has had the some-but-not-all invisible enemies thing as a result of the game using the integrated graphics on laptops... but also a random selection of GPUs including 1060's, 1650ti's, 3060's, and I saw an RX 570 IIRC too. the fuck is going on.
On the armor; you do not know true hell unless you're trying to farm the alonne knight captain armor on vanilla DS 2 and have had to burn multiple bonfire ascetics because it hasn't dropped.
The worst I've ever heard is also from DS 3, same friend who shit all over your gfx card. He once tried to farm Proofs of a Concord Kept from the Silver Knights. It took him 10 hours to get a single one to drop.
there we go, farmed the full set.

Not quite what I'd want long-term, but it'll probably be nice enough for most of the game.
Kind of them to up how fast equip load raises to actually wear heavy-ish armour and a greatsword and not fatroll this early. ~_~
Dunno, feels like it slipped back towards DS 1 by actually moving towards making heavy armour and blocking more viable. By DS3 it could get pretty masochistic to deal with either of them.
I guess they also wanted more people to actually use the heavy armor and weapons in this game too. Still, the fact it's easier to move normally even with heavy gear is telling.
But yeah, I suppose it is a step back if one also counts Sekiro. I'm hesitant to count Sekiro as one of the Souls-like games myself due to how different it is from the likes of Demons' Souls, the Dark Souls games, and Bloodborne.

Disgusted, but not surprised
