It was already like that on the network test by the way.

Watched a streamer play the game for a good uh...Seven or so hours? Today. She had to go to sleep but she'll be back later. It seems really great so far, Lands Between has a lot of cool stuff to discover and the various dungeons and the bosses in them are interesting. The Spirits are even more handy than I thought; there was one boss that came with a shitload of ads and ashes of a pack of wolves really helped with crowd control.

On what platform did she play? Any noticeable technical difficulties.

Playstation 5, but I didn't notice any difficulties while I was watching.

I'll check in tomorrow when I have the game in my hands and give a breakdown on how it runs on PC; but bear in mind that I'm running a gaming laptop with an NVIDIA RTX 2070 so my performance might be skewed one way or another.

I can deal with 30 FPS because let's face it that's the standard for FS on console.

How does it run on PS 4 vanilla?

The problem is I don't think there's an option to get a 30fps lock on console? Unless I'm mistaken I'm about.

edit: never mind, i forgot there was a quality mode available. no idea if you get a stable 30 on that though.

Every single time there's a new game from From, they change something in the controls. Now jumping is its own thing and interacting has migrated up to the top of the controller and two-handing is a two-key thing... [lol]

Why is the fucking Sekiro jumping horse back. GDI From.

what. It's the moveset of the first Sekiro boss.

Also, game runs like shit and keeps giving me huge lagspikes.

[up]x4 The game doesn't seem to dip below 30fps even in quality mode. It's just not locked to it, which might be more off-putting if you're sensitive to that thing.

[up][up]What's the framerate numbers you're getting?

The problem isn't the framerate, the problem is when it goes into complete slow motion for a second. This is after dropping the resolution and graphics settings.

The consistent framerate is easily 60.

I've been having some small stutters on PC, but nothing too bad.

It's been fun.

I've heard it's due to Direct X 12 shader caching, which, sure, you can't precompile shaders for PC. But to compile them on-demand and then keep sticking shiny bosses with unique attacks in changing environments? And never make any attempt to compile them when the game might be doing something else? ._.

Oh, and some people straight up have entities not rendering. But not all of them, some of them. And it's not just the people randomly booted onto integrated graphics, either.

Yeah. The worst I've had is some, admittedly awful, frame stuttering. It'll do fine for awhile and then... 1 fps for a moment or two. And seemingly because... i stepped forward while crouched.

The menus seem to have this stuttering too. As in character creation has frame stuttering.

However, the game seems fun. Fantastic even. Coming from someone who hated Dark Souls 1 and, while I only started this past week, likes Bloodborne so far.

Though I'm also only just running around and leveling off the base enemies because I'm waiting for a friend to get off work.

Anyone know where to get some cool armor early on? Cuz the best I got is... mook armor from the low level beefs.

Also, heads up for the CC, becareful because the colors are pretty washed out in that light and will become more extreme when in-game. Made a darker-skinned character and he ended up a lot darker skin than I expected when put in-game. Didn't ruin him but it was noted.

The Major question I have rn... The Lands-between... Lands between what? Is this a Purgatory land? Lands between seems like such a strange term for the world, right?

And after about an hour of fighting this tree sentinel, it's STILL lag spiking, so if it's cache related they fucked up. Fucking wonderful. And then some people are like "oh it's running fine for me and I don't even have enough RAM", because that's totally logical. ._.

Rain, what PC specs are you running?

Ryzen 3600, RTX 3090, 32gb 3200 Mhz RAM, and it's all on an NV Me drive.

So, there's zero excuse for it to run like this. Especially when people running it under minimum spec don't have the same fucking issue.

Silentedge89 Since: Apr, 2012

It could actually be the nvidia card. I've heard its had some stability issues with the higher end versions of the card (its why I went with a 2070 even though there were more laptops with 3080s in them available). It could also be a driver issue.

InkDagger Since: Jul, 2014

Are you running it in 4k? I'm on a 2070 and I didn't even try to up it to that. Lowering the resolution might prevent the cashe-stuttering from being too awful? Not that it'll totally correct it, but it might help.
