MOD NOTE: TROPES BLANKET-BANNED FROM HAVING VIDEO EXAMPLES:
- Attempted Rape
- Bound and Gagged
- Epileptic Flashing Lights
- Jump Scare
- Nocturnal Emission
- Pooping Where You Shouldn't
- Potty Failure
- Sensory Abuse
- Screamer Prank
It's been discussed a lot at the Video Uploading thread that a lot of poor videos are slipping through the cracks, and that a clean-up effort is necessary if we are to combat the problem.
Common issues are:
- Videos spoiling major events from a work
- Videos not actually fitting the trope they're attached to
- Videos in which the important part doesn't happen until halfway through, with the length being ultimately pointless
- Videos that use the entire work, breaking copyright; this can be done either with one video showcasing an entire short video, or multiple videos that add up to using the entire work in piecemeal.
- Videos lacking the proper media source, or any media source at all.
- General quality problems, like audio issues or artifacting.
So, we've got our work cut out for us; but this is at least a place to discuss problems and come to solutions.

A while ago, I made a post about how the Getting Crap Past the Radar video examples don't match the current trope definition. The discussion shifted to other tropes, but there did appear to be agreement that the examples aren't good. Before taking this to Video Moderation Requests, I'd like to propose how to move the videos so they can still be on the site.
- "My wife IS at home." —> The Mistress
- "Mr. Pettibone" —> Literal Metaphor - he's a literal skeleton in an actual closet
- "Desert Tower" —> Accidental Innuendo
- "Donkey Kong Country" —> Have a Gay Old Time - because "cream pie" was not a porn term when the episode aired
- "Joey, have you ever..." —> All Gays Are Paedophiles, I guess?
- "Re-inflatting Otto" —> Does This Remind You of Anything?
- "Plunger thing" —> Sexophone, or possibly Accidental Innuendo or Demographically Inappropriate Humour
- "...gentleman callers..." —> Your Mom
- "Lonely Space Vixens" —> Demographically Inappropriate Humour
- "Totally Spies!" —> Smitten Teenage Girl
- "The Loud House" —> Bait-and-Switch Comment
- "Chowder" —> Noodle Incident
- "The Adventures of Sam & Max: Freelance Police" —> Demographically Inappropriate Humour
- "The Cat in the Hat (2003) - The S.L.O.W." —> Fun with Acronyms

EDIT: I just noticed I could edit my own videos... Derp

Are the videos on A Minor Kidroduction (barring maybe the one from The Boss) technically non-illustrative? They show the introduction of the film but no indication that the character isn't a kid for the whole movie.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.FWIW I uploaded the Zootopia one. How would I have been able to make it more illustrative without going over the time limit? I'm genuinely curious.
TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallWere Still Relevant Dammit, which is a YMMV trope, has a video example that isn't a in-universe reaction to a Show Within a Show. Should it be pulled?

OK.
I suggest that Sensory Abuse should have No Video Examples.

Come play Character Uplift Game!Once again, someone uploaded the same exact video multiple times. 4 to be exact.
The videos in question are all from one scene in The Terminator, and are for Ballistic Discount, Gun Porn, You Have Outlived Your Usefulness, and Arms Dealer.

TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallIs that actually against the rules or just something we discourage?
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI'm not sure, but when I brought this up before after someone uploaded the same video 7 times for 7 different tropes, it was (I think) said that it wasn't allowed.
I wonder if there's some better way of including a video example for multiple tropes. Can't think of a better system than the one we have right now though.
TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallPeople have been asking for that and it's on the wishlist, my concern with the idea personally is that videos are often edited and cropped to focus on a specific trope, so either they'll need to be longer and less focused to fit multiple tropes, or some of the tropes won't be as easily illustrated.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessAgain, I ask if we should pull the video from Were Still Relevant Dammit, due to the video in question not protraying an audience reaction.
Thomas fans needed! Come join me in the the show's cleanup thread!Technically, Were Still Relevant Dammit refers to the event in question that the audiences find obviously not relevant, not necessarily the fandom's reaction to the event. I get the concern because it's still technically an Audience Reaction, but I think the video makes the moment of trying to be relevant clear (and most people know The Simpsons is a Long Runner).
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.But... it's subjective. Also just feels like it was uploaded to complain about the moment.
Thomas fans needed! Come join me in the the show's cleanup thread!I get what the video is going for, but I would say a trope like this needs to show an audience reaction, otherwise it just comes across as complaining or gushing.
Ukrainian Red CrossThe South Park video on Hollywood Tourette's might not actually fit the trope, even though its source episode does. See, the episode is dedicated to spoofing the Hollywood Tourette's trope because there are multiple characters whose Tourette's syndrome manifests as uncontrollable swearing, which Cartman exploits to get away with saying curses and slurs. The video example, for some reason, chose a clip that showed the only people whose tics are not just uncontrolled swearing, but more realistic physical tics. It doesn't even include the parts of the scene that really explain how Tourette's is more than just swearing. So doesn't the video clip, as currently edited, appear as a shoehorn, as if the trope is just "Tourette's exists"?

I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Yeah, that's not an example.
All three videos on Sarcasm Mode illustrate the name of the trope (i.e. somebody in the video is being sarcastic), but not the actual trope (which is using bluetext or other markup to indicate sarcasm in text).
I think all three are misleading on that page and should be moved to a more appropriate trope. Thoughts on that please?
Would a video from a Game Mod go under VideoSource.Video Games or VideoSource.Internet?
Jawbreakers on sale for 99¢Duplicate video under Ninja Sex Party for Big Red Devil and Rock Me, Asmodeus!. Personally I prefer it under the latter.
Speaking of NSP, the video on Mistaken for Superpowered is about 2/3 of the source video which violates fair use. Same with the video on Rousing Lullaby. I guess somebody had a field day with NSP videos and forgot to check the rules.

I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Okay so there is this recent video example someone uploaded involving Onward and I don’t think it fits. This video example was uploaded to The Magic Goes Away trope and I don’t think it applies because in the movie itself magic didn’t exactly go away in the sense the trope is describing (ex being sealed away, the villain being defeated etc.) the races just started inventing technology and so over time they simply just stop using it and the plot of the movie involves the main characters bringing back their dad for a certain amount of time with magic itself. Sorry if I didn’t explain it well enough but I tried my best so I hope someone can understand what I am trying to say.

The Straight Edge Evil video example is missing a Media Source. The source in question is Sleepaway Camp III: Teenage Wasteland
I've noticed that for the Indiana Jones Video on Logo Joke, it exceeds 2 mins 30 seconds.
Speaking of missing media sources I think that what needs to added is for the video to be unable to be submitted (not be confused with it being approved for everyone to see) until a media source is included because I am afraid this is a problem that has happened a alarming amount of times.
That'd bar any videos from works without pages, though.

The Dope Slap video example on VideoExamples.Sailor Moon is turned its side. It's a good example but it shouldn't be at a 90 degree angle.
