MOD NOTE: TROPES BLANKET-BANNED FROM HAVING VIDEO EXAMPLES:
- Attempted Rape
- Bound and Gagged
- Epileptic Flashing Lights
- Jump Scare
- Nocturnal Emission
- Pooping Where You Shouldn't
- Potty Failure
- Sensory Abuse
- Screamer Prank
It's been discussed a lot at the Video Uploading thread that a lot of poor videos are slipping through the cracks, and that a clean-up effort is necessary if we are to combat the problem.
Common issues are:
- Videos spoiling major events from a work
- Videos not actually fitting the trope they're attached to
- Videos in which the important part doesn't happen until halfway through, with the length being ultimately pointless
- Videos that use the entire work, breaking copyright; this can be done either with one video showcasing an entire short video, or multiple videos that add up to using the entire work in piecemeal.
- Videos lacking the proper media source, or any media source at all.
- General quality problems, like audio issues or artifacting.
So, we've got our work cut out for us; but this is at least a place to discuss problems and come to solutions.

About the Self-Surgery videos being able to fit Meat-Sack Robot, yes I think those Terminator scenes would fit, but I'd rather not have the exact same videos be linked because they both suffer from egregious watermarks. Maybe I'll find better versions of the clips myself and upload them.
As a general rule, you probably should not upload the exact same video under multiple tropes. It is very likely that a video which contains multiple tropes can be edited to show off one or the other more prominently, so you should do that.
Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing.Right. While they sometimes can fit with no changes, usually they're edited to showcase the trope they're trying to convey and would need editing to showcase a different trope.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessSome examples of The Hero are just clips of the main protagonist of a given work without showing them doing anything particularly heroic. Being a narrative role, the trope isnt the easiest to demonstrate in a short video.
And speaking of the same videos being reuploaded for different tropes the Jacks Lament song from The Nightmare Before Christmas was uploaded for The Hero, "I Am Great!" Song and "I Want" Song, of which I only think the last really fits.
Bumping something I found in Videos Needing Review:
- Potty Emergency: The The Loud House video "Bathroom Break!" is clearly way over the length limit.
Not only that, but the uploader clearly just lifted the entire short off Youtube (and didnt edit any of it), which Im fairly certain is copyright breach.

There's a similar video on Fight for the Last Bite.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessViacom is very picky with copyright so full-length shorts ripped from their channels should be taken care of quickly.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Something to tell the mods about.
Rock'n'roll never dies!A video got added recently for Nightmare Face. Due to the nature of that trope, should it be added to No Video Examples Please?
TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallThere are multiple videos for that trope already, and all but one don't have the Nightmare Face as the thumbnail.
Jawbreakers on sale for 99¢Ah, OK. I was probably just overreacting, sorry.
TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallHey I have another question. Can portions of song lyric videos be used for a video example? I haven't uploaded any video examples but I would like to include examples from music, and lyric videos are the only way I could see them being added. Yes or no?
TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallI'm slightly annoyed right now.
Back for the page Sir Swears-a-Lot I tried to post the scene in the fake Sonic Adventure 2 dub where Eggman pisses on the moon, but it was rejected for being too adult (Despite the point of that trope being about lots of inappropriate language in the first place).
The exact same scene isn't rejected for Gag Dub and is the featured video. That's one hell of a bucket load of hypocrisy.

Hold up, when was this? Videos actually get rejected? One time somebody tested the review system by posting the worst video ever, and it still got approved.
To be fair, the featured-video thing isn't related to the mods any. Tropers themselves decide which video is and isn't featured.
As for why that one was rejected...well, it is pretty surprising that it happened at all since the enforcement for examples has been very...not good.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessAnd I saw someone quote a line from that scene about Shadow as their signature.
Rock'n'roll never dies! There must be different admins with different language standards choosing these videos if the same video can get accepted once and rejected another time. Which isn't great since it means we don't have a clear idea of what's okay and what's not.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Yet another reason why this forum should (and does) exist.
Speaking of featured videos, I feel like the featured videos feature is sort of barebones. It just makes that particular selected video the first video autoplay. That's about it. How should we decide which videos get to be "featured" and which don't? What should we do if there are multiple viable featured videos?
Personally, here are my personal examples for what videos can generally fall under featured:
- Videos of moments subject to Memetic Mutation
- Videos belonging to popular franchises or works (SpongeBob SquarePants, etc.)
- Trope Namers
- Trope Codifiers
and so on... I personally think that the status of "featured" should be based on a crowner system.

Of course, not every trope would have videos of that sort of notoriety, so it's a case-by-case-basis.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessYeah, it seems barely anything gets rejected, so I'm super suprised. Perhaps whoever did it dislikes Realtime Fan Dub?
More seriously, mods, does it show who rejected the video on your end?
Jawbreakers on sale for 99¢Nope. All we see is a yes/no that shows whether a video is approved or rejected.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportThe Care Bears video for Disaster Dominoes needs about 35 seconds trimmed off the end.
I'm back!My best guess for why the SA2 dub video was rejected might be because there's some word filter that rejects titles or descriptions that trip the censor. In this case, I'm certain the word "piss" must've instantly flagged the video and caused it to be rejected. The fact the other SA2 dub video that was approved doesn't feature the word "piss" anywhere on the title or description probably gives some credence to this idea.

The Zero Wing intro video (on both Good Bad Translation and All Your Base Are Belong to Us) is a low-quality video complete with Unregistered HyperCam 2.
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.
