Basically the premise is that this is a horror movie parody (in the current genre of a Slasher Movie), and that the tropers are Trapped In Tv Land after having a big sleepover at Studio 42, and somehow using a retro Haunted Technology involving a ghost-possessed vcr from the early 90's.
Each turn, the Genre Savvy tropers must try to keep one step ahead of the haunted movie while they are being trapped in the vcr and try to use Subverted Trope to defeat the current monster. The corresponding movie storyline only ends when the Final Girl defeats the Monster of the Week... Only for the cycle to repeat when another horror movie is put into the vcr by clueless viewers...
(the vcr-movie title can be customised by tropers beforehand and must be a parody of other horror movies).
Basically each movie is equal to > 12 weeks (approximately two-months in Real Life) and is numbered from 1 to infinity.
Each week, the genre and topic of the horror movie randomly changes (Haunted House, hospital, After the End, Mad Scientist, Deadly Doctor, "Fantastic Voyage" Plot, etc), also the movies must always be of a Horror Comedy vibe, or have a large dash of Black Comedy to make others laugh. Everyone has Resurrective Immortality during each movie parody.

"My clothes look ugly!"
"I am a racial minority! I must find my way off this place ASAP, bad shit happens always and only to minorities in horror movies."
"So basically welcome to the sleepover at studio 42, I hope you are all ready for the sleepover of the century, now who had packed popcorn so that we can watch scary movies all night?! "
"Me, I also brought a satelitephone, several flashlights and a first aid kit among other things.
"That's rather helpful, welp, time to hook up the vcr and watch some spooky home movies, but luckily we need someone to attach the vcr and this dusty cassette called Do Not Touch will do the rest! The wonders of technology! It sounds like a good movie, I wonder if this movie involves a warning about the End of the World as We Know It?"
(Steph would also forget to mention that her biggest fear is being Buried Alive, followed by Strapped to an Operating Table.)

"I have some pliers we could use to hold the cassette, dibs on not being the one to do it"
Steph nods and gives the cassette to Johannes, "Alright, you put it in first!"
"But I called dibs on not... Fine, whatever"
Slowly and carefully picks up the tape and puts it in
"Hey guys, anyone wanna go downstairs with me? I hear noises there, maybe it's just a rat or something."

hands Aldarac one of his flashlights.
"I'm not going down there, I hate navigating unknown stairwells in the dark. If you can find someone willing to go down with you good luck, otherwise we should just barricade it."
Suddenly everyone saw something moving in the air as a ghost girl appeared from the vcr itself.
"I am Kukido, and you have disturbed my peace when I was sleeping in the vcr earlier." said the Malaysian ghost girl angrily and she seemed to be of the Stringy-Haired Ghost Girl type, "As punishment for causing me no sleep, I shall teleport all of you into many random horror movies until all of you get eternity to solve my puzzles hidden in each of the movies."
There would be a shimmering noise as literally everyone becomes Trapped In Tv Land, leaving only an empty studio in its wake. Kukido smiles, "Well, let the fun and games begin." Kukido gets some peace at last as she Pass the Popcorn and decided to watch The Curse of Retroness and enjoying the troper's sleepover in return...
"Well, this ain't bad, at least I got some movies to watch!" Kukido looks at the pile of cassette at her feet.

"What just happened and where are we?"
"It looks like we are in the vcr itself, which is being influenced by the ghost, and so we are all now Trapped In Tv Land." Steph murmurs with much fright as a Heartbeat Soundtrack begins, "So literally anything could happen!" Steph looks around in tepidation.

"Hey, uh, why am I suddenly here and why do I feel the need to leave and find some proper cell reception?"
"Well, we need to find our way out of this Haunted House and the only way to do so is by using the outdated telephone..." Steph gulps loudly, heart hammering quickly as she was not used to being in horror movies, and also she keeps a look-out for any strange encounters as she grabs a nearby wooden plank...

"Hey look, a payphone!" Custard exclaims, pointing to an old Bell Telephone booth across the street. "I mean, who doesn't love a free death trap?"
She's glad she didn't bring any quarters with her.
“Guys, we’ve got to keep on our toes. If this is a horror movie, anything goes.”
"Oh dear... where are we?"
"Well, let's see, if we could find a phone book or some mail that oh-so-conveniently happens to be lying around because plot, we might know, but at the same time that might just get us all killed..." Custard replies.
A creak is heard from somewhere in the upper floors and VHS tracking lines go nuts.
"I found something!" Steph points at a cobwebbed lever, "Shall I pull it?! It is very hard not to pull cospiciously placed levers, who knows what it does!"
"Hey, uh, I suggest looking behind you...."
Steph scoffs, "And what will looking behind me do? I'm not that dumb," she says as the shadow looms closer...
"Well, I suggest running out of the goddamn house!"
The VHS tracking lines go nuts once again as the shadowy figure gets closer.
Steph tries to run, but because of her own mobility issues, she walks really slowly and is therefore The Load during a horror movie. "Guys, help me!"
