This is meant as a light-hearded, anime-esque RPG about a group of people suddenly transformed into magical girls.

Role Playing thread: -NOT STARTED YET-

Character Generator: Fixed Link

STORY:

You awaken in the body of a young teenage girl, surrounded by serveral others. A magical being explains that the girls you are inhabiting are a group of magic girls, tasked with saving the world from the forces of darkness. The evil forces managed to capture the souls of the girls. In order to continue the fight, the magical being found your souls and placed them in the bodies of the young girls.

If you can defeat the enemy and free the girls' souls, the magical being will be able to try to return your souls to your original bodies or create new bodies. Fail, and the world will fall to the forces of darkness. You will be expected to deal with a mixture of magical combat and succeeding in 'everyday life'.

Your character pre-transformation can be based on yourself or a character you make up, but is expected to be a normal person. If you want your character to be a helicopter pilot or a trained police sniper, that is fine. A sniper / battlefield surgeon who had been trained by the the NSA to be a world class hacker is NOT.

RPG System:

I plan to use the Maid the RPG system, at least for character creation. If we start, I want all players to try to post at least once a week, and plan to check the board daily.

You can use this character generator to create a character. Set the Special Qualities to three, and make sure the weapon table is enabled. After rolling, you may drop one special quality but must keep at least two. You may use the generator multiple times, but are asked not to just spam the generator until you generate a Mary Sue level character. You will probably want to reroll a character that has a low starting will or low cunning, but the choice is up to you.

While your characters have experience pre-transfer and are free to use any tactics / skills you had developed prior to waking up, your new bodies are that of young girls (or at least appearing as young girls, characters may be actually boys / androids / aliens in disguise / etc). As magical girls, you will probably have a magical weapon that is character specific. In addition, you are free to try to get guns / cars / real world items and use them. If you do, be aware that authorities may try to stop you.

We will not be Maid Origins from the Maid the RPG system. Character death is not a concern.

In combat as a magical girl, if your spirit (the in-game equivalent of HP) falls to zero, the magical being will transport you back to the base to recover. When not fighting as a magical girl, if your spirit falls below zero you may choose to either react with your character's stress explosion or have your character do something else to recover.

When the generator rolls your base stats, they are adjusted for your maid types. You only need to post the final number for the maid type, so if the generator says Cunning: [4] + [0] + [-1] = 3 you would only need to post 'Cunning = 3'. If any of your stats are zero, that stat is automatically changed to one when your character is 'transformed' into her magical girl form.

The main traits are Athletics, Affection, Skill, Cunning, Luck, and Will. Lifting heavy objects, running fast, or jumping over obstacles would all use Athletics. Affection is how well you can convince people to do things based on emotional reactions. Skill will be used to see how well you use your magical-girl abilities and may be used for pre-death military abilities. Cunning is how well your character can deal with mental challenges. Luck is how well your character does in anything that in the real world would be random. Will is mental fortitude and also determines your spirit, the in-game version of hit points. If it is not clear what trait you should use, you may select which one you want to use. Please use common sense, because this like anything else in the story will be subject to GM Veto. Affection can NOT be used to fire a sniper rifle at a target, but I would allow either Cunning or Skill.

You start with your maximum number of spirit points, which is your will times ten. Failing in combat results in losing spirit; role playing your stress explosion or doing other activities can result in me as the story teller restoring your spirit points.

When attempting a task that has an element of risk, a six sided die or the electronic equivalent will be rolled and that number will be multiplied by the appropriate stat. (Example: If you have are trying to break down a door using brute force, a six sided die would be rolled and the result multiplied by your athletics stat.) If the total is high enough, it succeeds. If low, it fails. The total will either have to beat a challenge number I set as the GM or beat the opponents score, if you are going against a monster or another player. How you do the task will determine the challenge number: Using a crowbar to break down a door is much easier then using your foot.

In combat with an NPC or a character each side choose a stat and roll a six-side die. The higher score wins; the character on the losing side takes the winner's total and dives the total by the loser's own stat vaule before subtracting that new total from his or her spirit. When an NPC's spirit goes below one, the NPC either passes out or dies. A player's character either falls unconscious or suffers a stress reaction.

(Link has been fixed)

Sign-Up example:

Character name before transformation: Dawn Lowed aka 'D@wnload'

Character name, for new body: Villianess

Player name: The GM

Saved link to character sheet

Athletics = 2

Affection = 2

Skill = 2

Cunning = 1

Luck = 2

Will = 5

Starting Spirit: (Will times 10) 50

Outfit color: black

Hair color: silver

Eye Color: silver

Maid types: Heroine & Pure

Special Qualities: Hacker, Former Killer, Wanted

Favored Attribute: Will

Maid Power: Persistence

Maid Weapon: Chain / Rope

Stress Explosion: Shopping

In story character description:

Your name is Villianess. You are 22 years old. You have silver eyes and silver hair, and wear a black uniform. You are heroic and pure; others describe you as clean, maidenly and indominable.

Aside from being a maid, you are an expert hacker, breaking into computer systems for profit and knowledge. You used to be an assassin; your skills have not dulled with time. The police want you for questioning about a very serious crime.

You were born into a family that has served the mansion for generations. In combat, you attack with a chain or rope. When you are extremely upset, you go on a mad shopping spree. Due to your notable Will, you have the ability Persistence; Whenever you take Stress, automatically reduce the amount by 1 point.

When not transformed, Villianess's hair is jet black and she wears sunglasses to hide her silver eyes. When transformed, her hair turns silver and she wears a black cat-suit wrapped in silver chains. She uses magical silver chains in combat that can immobilize normal people (this ability does not work on the heroes, regardless of whether the heroes are transformed or not, as long as the heroes have any spirit) and can deliver electrical damage (this does work on the heroes).

GM Approved Special Ability: When she has time, Villianess may use WILL instead of CUNNING to hack into computer systems. This requires her to take more time then someone using cunning would use, since it represents Villianess using brute-force / multiple attempts to gain access rather then intelligence.

Before game history: Dawn was the child of wealthy but negligent parents, who bought young Dawn extravagant gifts (including top of the line computers) but never really showed her any affection. She created an online persona of 'D@wnload', performing numerous cyber-crimes for either her amusement or for payment. When she turned eighteen, Dawn used her skills at computer hacking to create fake evidence to frame her parents and had them arrested. Their wealth was then transferred to Dawn, most of which Dawn has managed to waste on frivolous spending and a constant desire to own the latest computer technology.

Impressed by Dawn's actions and greed, the Dark Shard empire made an alliance with Dawn. In return for Dawn using her wealth and computer knowledge to create false identities for the Dark Shard agents, the Dark Shard empire gave Dawn magical energy that allows her to wield magic chains in combat and to be able to survive massive amounts of damage.

Several government agencies are trying to track down the cyber-criminal 'D@wnload' while other agencies are trying to deal with the Dark Shard invasion and the Dark Shard General Villianess. None of the agencies know the two identities are the same person or that the person is wealthy heiress Dawn Lowed.

Dawn Lowed maintains a cover job as the Computer Science teacher at the private school Morning Star Academy, which the heroes attend. They are aware of Dawn Load's identities, both as D@wnload and Villianess, but she is not yet aware of the heroes being the magical girls working to stop the Dark Shard invasion.
