I would like to use this image for the soon-to-be-launched trope from the TLP, War From Another World.

So far, I’m thinking from a collection of these Star Wars/World War II images: ([1] [2] [3] [4])

Right now, the fourth one is my preferred candidate. Does anyone approve, or can someone a better image of the trope?

Opened. The first thing that came to mind would be the Autobots and Decepticons fighting with the US military also in the battle.

1.4 is funny, but I'm not really sure if it actually demonstrates the trope.

The trope is not about earthly forces against alien ones but two aliens forces battling out their conflict on another species' homeland (probably Earth). Not seeing this depicted in any of the examples in OP.

A Transformers one will be another perfect candidate, if we can find one like that. To the defense for the Star Wars/WWII photos, I can it fitting because were talking about the latter’s Galactic Civil War suddenly getting the World War II powers involved.

My caption would simply be: When your 1940s Earth gets invaded by X-Wings/Snowspeeders and Tie Fighters/AT-ATs, you know you’re not dealing with an ordinary war.

^ Your Galactic Civil War is Fan Myopia. Someone not familiar with the military of the Star Wars universe just sees aspects of an Alien Invasion.

Then how about: When your Second World War involves using propellor-less low-level aircraft with tow cables to fight troop-carrying mechanical elephants, you know know you're not dealing with an ordinary war.

Too much potential for confusion with Technologically Advanced Foe, Conqueror from the Future, and Weird Historical War IMO.

You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"

[up] The issue with Conqueror from the Future is that Time Travel has to be established somehow, otherwise it just looks like Technologically Advanced Foe.

Yeah, the only reason I picked those Star Wars/World War II images is that such a thing only exists if the Empire and Rebel Alliance somehow moved to 1940s Earth.

We could possibly do the Transformers one, with Autobots and Deceptions during it out on an Earth military base, but I’m having difficulty finding an image of that.
