I thought the single-player game was cancelled?
Or was that just the first iteration of it that got canned?

Several single-player games were cancelled, most famously Visceral's where you play as a smuggler-turned-rebel. This is the one that survived. Which, knowing EA, means it's the one with the widest focus group appeal and most easily-monetizable gameplay elements.

Do you guys hate how EA's forcing the Frostbite engine on everyone?
Nah. If Frostbite's so hard to develop for, then FIFA being Frostbite-based means it can do anything.
Edit: Oh wait that was an intro to saying it was using UE 4

Y'know, I really want this game to be good. I even suspect EA wants it to be good. However, I am not particularly optimistic-well, maybe cautiously so. I won't pre-order it, but if the reviews are good enough...
Leviticus 19:34Supposedly one of the higher-ups at Respawn took to twitter to explain that it's 100% singleplayer and has no microtransactions (at least they're not planning on it as of now; knowing EA, well...). Will try to find the link.

I'm almost positive they are. They only nearly got wiped out by the Mandalorians around the SWTOR era, and then they started bouncing back. If I remember correctly one of Luke's descendants in the Legends canon adopted a Cathar son.
Edit: Yes, he in fact did. Micah

"Can't make an omelette without breaking some children." -BurI am not the biggest Star Wars fan (I never watched the movies as a kid and only saw first three some 3-4 years ago) but this is looking nice.
If this game massively succeeds, would it mean EA could relax a bit and allow more Star Wars games to be made? Star Wars video game adaptations at the moment aren't looking great and this game may make EA have an epiphany or something. Too hopeful but eh. I do remember playing classic Battlefront games but got my ass kicked by bots way too many times
So yeah, would this Star Wars game do it and let there be more quality Star Wars games and not... the 2015 and 2017 Battlefront games?
From what I've heard, Visceral was shut down because it was making practically no progress on its game whatsoever. That one teaser they showed that one time was basically the vast majority of what they'd made at the time it was released. Combined with the Anthem thing, I can't help but wonder if this is less about EA not allowing games to be made and more about the games not really coming along in the first place.
but HOW?

So. It's looking like Star Wars by EA is kind of not great, what with that Battlefront II fiasco and EA's overall soulless nature.
But here's a new game from the Titanfall guys.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order
Takeaways:
Nothing much beyond that, though we're apparently getting a trailer tomorrow, so...
