So, I just want to say that both Bad Wolf and Ultimatum had the same reaction I did.

I mean, mere moments after saying those words myself, I came to this thread, and saw Ultimatum's post as the page topper.

I broke out laughing.[lol]

Anyway...ok. Title's out. We know when it's coming out. Lets just finish this.

After all the things that have been happening since this new trilogy started, and after some of the stuff I've become aware of with the prequel trilogy, I think there's only one thing both fans and creators should say:

Lets finish this, and then never speak to each other again.

…Well that title's gonna get people talking at least. tongue It's probably trolling, since, well, if it was about Rey or some shit they wouldn't spoil it in the freaking title. It would be like titling ESB "Luke Meets His Evil Father".

If you think about it, the star wars saga has ultimately been about its primary villains and their fall and redemption. So maybe the title is alluding to Kylo Ren and how even though he has fallen, he can redeem his entire family line of Solo/Skywalker and bring peace to the galaxy and Rey isn't the savior as we're led to believe. We all thought Luke was to be the one to bring down the Emperor, but instead Darth Vader/Anakin was the one to do it. Probably will pull another fast one like that yet again.

That would be awful. A mass murderer saving the galaxy from the havoc he himself wrought by virtue of his awesome family legacy, shoving the actually heroic figure with humble beginnings out of the way? What a great moral for the kiddies.

Nah,his redemption will consist of him dying while Sheev fries him to a crisp

I kinda doubt Palpatine is actually in the movie. Probably it's just some illusion or ghost akin to Darth Bane in that one Clone Wars episode.

[up]Where’s the fun in that? I want Clone Sheev firing the Galaxy Gun at anything that offends him. Porgs? Boom! That stupid casino planet? Boom!

I vote for the Ulic Qel-Droma treatment - de-Force him and ditch him in the sticks somewhere. Maybe that exact desert planet.

If so, colour me unimpressed.

Shit, I bet what happened here was that Johnston's decision to kill off Snoke derailed Abrams' ideas for Episode 9, so Abrams figured that in order to make his story work without the Palpatine facsimile he'd come up with, he just had to bring back the actual Palpatine.

Even if Palpatine isn't physically present, Abrams' "ultimate evil" comment definitely makes it sound like there's a power higher than Kylo and Snoke, as they're... not exactly what I'd call very "ultimate."

[up][up] Didn't an interview with Abrams a little while ago say there wasn't really any longterm plan for the films?

Shit might as well bring in a Sith Spectrr to counter Force Ghosts.

Also seriously Phasma is just one of the biggest losers in the franchise.

[up][up] VII and VIII were apparently written near-simultaneously, which resulted in some rewrites and inconsistencies between them.

Recall also that Abrams wasn’t originally going to direct Ep 9. It was initially Colin Trevorrow.

I’m expecting some variety of disappointment in general regarding the story, but I’m glad this trilogy will soon be over.

To keep things positive, Billy Dee is looking great as Lando

Possibly not the writer, but the director still plays a very big role. Johnson’s style was very noticeable all over TLJ, and Trevorrow’s input on The Book of Henry caused it to turn into a misaimed drama instead of the original script’s Black Comedy.

[up][up] As someone who thinks that TLJ's final scene may be the single best scene in all SW movies, I hope not. Him being anonymous is what makes it perfect.

So, how long into the X, XI, and XII trilogy do you think it takes the fandom to decide that VII, VIII, and IX were "the last true Star Wars movies"?

And then, when XIII, XIV, and XV are coming out, how long do you think it takes the fandom to decide that X, XI, and XII were "the last true Star Wars movies?"

And then, when XVI, XVII, and XVIII are coming out, how long do you think it takes the fandom to decide that XIII, XIV, and XV were "the last true Star Wars movies?"

*repeat ad nauseum*
