I mostly have good expectations about the movie, but it should stay away from fix-it scenarios. The last time JJ Abrams attempted that, it was with trying to make Khan in Star Trek Into Darkness more palatable, and it did not go well at all.
Also, it just wastes time. You're spending more time trying to 'fix' something instead of spending that time developing your own story. And subsequently frustrating your audience who either have to adjust to the changes or might be alienated by them.
We've already thrown two movies' worth of major subplots on "Rey wants her parents, but has to learn to let them go and focus on the people who need her," something that should have been more origin/backstory in the first place. Having us go through that again in a third film would just be waste of the story's time, regardless of who her parents turn out to be, and more important would again keep Rey from growing as a character (which was a big problem in TLJ).

If anything the third movie should have her finally realize that she'll likely never find her parents again, whatever happened to them, and that she needs to let go of the past. Because that sort of thing has been hanging onto her for the past two movies.
1st movie was her constantly wanting to get back to Jakku ASAP because she had to be there in case her parents came back for her, despite what Maz said about her knowing deep down that they'd never come back for her.
2nd movie was her digging into the Dark Side to try and get knowledge about her parents, and think that Kylo could help her find them along with her being able to turn him back to the light side.
Considering both of those attempts led nowhere, the third movie would be a good opportunity for her to be able to finally get over it, and let go of the past and attachments as the Jedi do.
I was under the impression that that was more or less what happened in TLJ.
More people (including Mark Hamil) are calling bull on the poster and I kinda get why. An Y wing which was considered outdated in most of the lore, Threepio with a Bowcaster looking like he’s about to yell “SEE YOU IN HELL FIRST ORDER SCUM!” in six million forms of communication, a lack of the characters everyone despised in TLJ, etc. It feels less like the movie that is being made and more like the one fans want. One with no Rose and more Threepio re-enacting Rambo: First Blood Part II.
I just want them to move on from the parents subplot.
Its feeling like that's all she has.
My kneejerk reaction to the poster was that it was fake (specially 3PO with the bowcaster, that looks shopped as hell).
But then there's that alien, the lady with the cape, the android next to BB 8, and the lady with the helmet. Those elements look real, and where would the faker have procured them?
Unless you can find sources for those elements, I don't think you can dismiss the poster as fake.
... is there any reason they're not invented whole cloth?
Thought - leaked poster might have been some pre-production prototype poster or some such?
The poster might be fake, but if it was, it was built from production stills which are real.
So, 3PO packing heat is happening?
This holiday season, he’s fluent in over six million forms of ass kicking...
I'm sure Disney is already having the poster changed if it really was a leak.
The poster isn't real because Lando isn't on it and also look at that goofy-ass alien on the left. That's worse than the Ewoks and Jar-Jar combined. I'm calling fan/troll bait. Also, no title? C'mon. It's fake, fake, fake.
I did hear someone float the name A New Order, which sounds plausible, but I'm not placing any bets yet.
Well someone has suggested that this isn’t the film poster per se, but something you would see for advertising in a department store.
Still doesn’t explain 3PO packing heat.
If real it could just be a composition test. The blank background in particular makes it look really dry.
Oh my God, I didn't even notice 3PO! That makes it even faker. That's definitely the kind of thing some prankster would draw as a joke.

From what I've heard, C-3PO is basically used as a pack mule in at least one scene, which is why he's carrying a bunch of stuff.
Wait...they just revealed that alien on the poster...I think it might just be real...
It's not real. It's 'shopped together from a bunch of legitimate images.
Heh,it was real after all, they just got really lucky
Here's the live panel from the Star Wars Celebration if anyone's interested:
Trailer is appearing right now eeeeeeeeeee
