The Four Heavenly Chiefs (The Gods)
- Schorche – A narcistic and petty god of the sun who curses and schorches those who refuse to worship her. She, however, wants the humans to live to worship her, so she rises every morning to scare the monsters away with her light. The solar eclipses result from her being close to death or fighting with Darkan over something.
- Darkan – A god of the moon/darkness and Scorche's brother. His job is to fight the monsters that crawl out of the ground when she is asleep. He is also the god of fear, using it to keep people from doing stupid things and going out at night of during storms. He wears a cloak of night that grants him invisibility and will cloak people who pray to him at night when they need it.
- Bangtem – A deceitful god of love/hate and lightning who is assigned to guard the roots of the lightning tree [You know, lightnings that hit the ground] from humans and monsters. He is the father of the human race and the animals they live with, having slept with a lot of things in his life. He's not particularly evil, he just has always had the perfect way to get whatever he has wanted. He uses lightning to make people fall in love and punish those who've spurned him.
- Warrer – A god of war and death. She used to be a human before falling in an ancient battle, and her touch brings death and decay, forcing her to wear an undestroyable magic armor. It's her job to give warriors courage and lead the souls of the worthy to thereafter, leaving the other souls wander on earth and turn into the monsters, forcing Darkan stay up all night and spend days sleeping.
The Vaegur (The Monsters And Spirits)
The vaegur are the souls of the dead left to wander on earth for whatever reason, that can plague or help the living, depending on the invidual creature's nature and how the living are treating them. People build shrines in their houses for family members and bigger shrines outside for soldiers to worship them on in hopes to keep them getting angry with humans.
But there still are many Vaegur forgotten, not worshipped, or just not caring, that haunt the night as monsters and are hunted by the night god Darkan and burned and scared away bu the sun god Schorche's light.
The Vaegur resemble ancient interprations of fairies, can shapeshift or cast illusions, poison wells, cause a high fever, or something else depending on how they died.
