Example Sectionectomy and "No Examples, Please"

^ - I was gonna, until I realized what it really was, and put Rule of Animation Conservation as Tropes Needing TRS instead.

Bumping, as the latest Trope Report, News 2021-07, put Fade In and Fade Out as example-less pages that need help.

Should they be No Examples Please for some reason? Or are they just really Overdosed, and no one's started an examples section?

Unique Items calls itself one of the Omnipresent Tropes, but has an examples list?

How Omnipresent is the basic Protagonist Title, really? We have Sub-Tropes to cover some examples already, so it won't be too cluttered?

• Protagonist and Friends... If it's actually Protagonist Title Sub-Trope unlike Character Title like it says...
• The Full Name Adventures... When has it ever not been Protagonist Title?

I guess these aren't as tied to imply a Protagonist? Or are they?

• Name and Name
• Multi-Character Title

Most Character Title-s carry a Protagonist Title implication? Only One-Word Title, I think doesn't?

Or, a Protagonist Group Title draft could be made, if we want to split...

By the definition of super/sub, I don't think that Protagonist Title can be more omnipresent than Character Title and would prefer to remove it from the index completely.

I'll do that... Tomorrow, and start it's example section.

I don't know where to bring this up, but should Side View be in No Straight Examples, Please! since the page restricts straight examples for certain kinds of games?

I would not say it's ubiquitous enough for that. I'd allow all examples unless some demonstrated length issue actually pops up.

Is Power Source a trope or an index? Whatever, I have Phlebotium Battery or whatever, for my uses.

Whoops, I misread, it's Overdosed, but Omnipresent Tropes mentions it, and puts Heroes (an index) and Hero Protagonist on the index instead. Shouldn't The Hero be on there too?

Is the issue that they're not crosswicked? If so... Feel free to crosswick?

I was wrong, it's got a few fictional examples, in there, it's just not sorted at all. I'll add my example and sort and stuff when I do.

Personal Dictionary has no on-page examples; they were deleted in 2012 by Fast Eddie with no edit reason and no comment on the discussion page.

Now, a lot of those examples were in fact really iffy political nonsense, so we're not gonna bring them all back, but do we want to bring any back or list this one as NOPE?

Stock Shticks... Is it a trope? Should it have an examples list? It currently doesn't...

The Undead is apparently a Trope, even though it looks like an index, since the newer Undead Index exists.

It also doesn't have an examples list right now. But should it? Or should it listed as Example Sectionectomy?

The three examples I've checked are using "The Undead" to refer to the general creature concept?

Currently, Unwinnable is an exampleless supertrope (at least on page; it's not filed under any part of Example Sectionectomy...)

However, examples occasionally come up where it is unclear whether the unwinnable situation is intentional or accidental. While it usually possible to guess as to which option was likely, there doesn't seem to be any guarantee of that. Given this, should we open it up for ambiguous examples only?

I think it'd need a wick check to see how it's being used / if there are any examples that couldn't fit under a subtrope.

I just stumbled across Household Names, which, based on its description, seems like it's supposed to be definition only. However, it isn't listed on any such index, and recently it looks like someone added an examples section with a single example. I believe it should be definition only (and the page itself makes a good example why), but obviously I want to gather consensus before doing anything about it.

Most Gamers Are Male has no examples (and never has, from the looks of it), but is not listed on any subpage of Example Sectionectomy. Should it be?

As-is, it can if addressed in works. But without examples an argument can be made if it's even a real trope.

Like Father, Like Son has ~4000 wicks, but just has subtropes, no example list. Is it more of an index and should be wick-cleaned?

The Good Guys Always Win has a "no examples on this page" disclaimer at the bottom, but isn't indexed on No On-Page Examples (or any other Example Sectionectomy subpage)

Added to index. Looks like the sponsor of the YKTTW intended "no examples [at all]" (what it used to say) while agreeing it's an Omnipresent Trope, so I think it's fine on NOPE rather than Definition-Only. Which means no cleanup is necessary.
