Tear Jerker is on No Real Life Examples, Please!. Real-Life examples of it are not allowed. But for some reason, people tend to use Music subpages to cry about real-life events involving their favorite bands.

Examples of things that should not be listed on a Tear Jerker page:

  • A musician passes away.
  • A musician struggles with personal issues.
  • A musician is the victim of a crime.
  • A musician is bullied by a hatedom.
  • A musician talks about any of the above in an interview.
  • A band breaks up.

An exception can be made if the musician/band performs a song about the above. In that case, it's less a Real Life example and more a song that's made sadder by its background.

EDIT: Ignored 1/3 of the topic. (It's the real life part, in case you need to know).

Maybe tropers either didn't know it or they saw a loophole. On the NRLEP page, the header says "Pages where Real Life examples are not allowed", not tropes, which makes people think it means "No real life examples on the main trope page" (Although real life subpages aren't allowed for those pages).

Also, can you please switch put "A band breaks up" above "A musician talks about any of the above in an interview"? It makes more sense.
