This is a thread for checking up on pages for works that have not been released yet, to make sure that they are not straying into rampant speculation or posting crazy behind the scenes spoilers. You can bring both individual examples or entire pages to attention here.
In extreme cases, any page can be locked, but hopefully that won't be necessary.
(As these pages often are hit with zero-context examples and shoehorning as well, all four - speculation, spoilers, ZCEs, and shoehorning may get addressed simultaneously.)
The policy governing this effort is Creating A Work Page For An Unreleased Work. Cleanup is being tracked using the Unreleased Works sandbox.
All pages for unreleased works should include a %% comment at the top of the page, confirming the policy and linking to this thread and the Administrivia page. It doesn't have to be exactly the same as the example provided here, but this provides a template to work with.
%% Speculative troping is not allowed on TV Tropes.
%%
%% We trope what DOES happen in works, not what MIGHT happen or is LIKELY to happen.
%%
%% For unreleased works where all we have to go on is advertising and other supplemental materials, we have some detailed guidelines, which can be found at Administrivia/CreatingAWorkPageForAnUnreleasedWork.
%%
%% NOTE - these rules also mean that unreleased works should only have one page image, and that image should NOT be changed again until the work is released.
%%
%% If you have questions, please consult the Unreleased Work Speculation Cleanup thread at https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=15514631230A64268600
%%
%% Thank you.

And of course, in this case, it's also speculation to say that it definitively won't happen offscreen.
But for all we know, it might happen onscreen, making this invalid from the start. Offscreen Moment of Awesome seems to be another of those "wait until release" tropes.
2025: the year it all ends?
We do not know whether it will happen onscreen or offscreen (if it even happens), therefore we cannot put it on Offscreen Moment of Awesome.
I think what they're saying is that if we're just troping the trailer alone, that is an offscreen moment... in the trailer.
But that's if the trailer itself is being treated like a work.
Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper WallSo are we in agreement that Offscreen Moment of Awesome is limited to post-release?
2025: the year it all ends?![]()
HighCrate thinks trailers should be troped separately from the works they're advertising
, which is what I was getting at.
Frankly, it's hypocritical to delete something that's true within a trailer only to turn around and say that trailers should be troped as their own thing.

Jawbreakers on sale for 99¢No, I understand that, I'm just pointing the the hypocrisy.
Anyway, I do agree that Offscreen Moment of Awesome should be a "post-release" trope. We should start making a list of those...

Jawbreakers on sale for 99¢Plenty of works are also parts of larger works. The Empire Strikes Back is a film in its own right, but it's also part of the Star Wars trilogy, which is itself part of the larger Star Wars franchise.
If a character describes doing a sweet kickflip in Episode 5 of Skating Adventure, and then the sweet kickflip is shown in Episode 6, then is it an Offscreen Moment of Awesome?
It depends on how you look at it.
It's not speculation, but someone recently added spoilered info about Akechi's second Persona to his folder on Persona 5: The Phantom Thieves of Hearts - Second Half though his second Persona was something shown in his character trailer, and is even listed alongside his regular Persona at the top of his folder without a spoiler. I read somewhere in regards to unreleased works that if something is shown in a trailer it's not meant to be spoilered, but I wanted to check for confirmation before I do anything.
I'm illiterate. Superman 64 has a better characters than The Last of Us Part II.
Berserk Button: misusing Nightmare Fuel
That's correct, if something is shown in a trailer, that means that the developers want you to know it before playing.
Speaking of that rule, shouldn't it be officially listed in the Spoiler Policy or on Spoilers Off?
Hey! A SU movie BTS video that came out today
revealed some important things!
Okay, so: according to the info documented by bismuth on tumblr
, the new Gem's name is "Spinel"! (The full text on that pic, while a bit blurry, says "Your new worst enemy, Spinel")
But of course: it technically counts as a leak, and leaks are strictly prohibited on TV Tropes pages! Thank you for keeping that in mind when writing new examples!
EDIT: Nuts! The video got removed from Youtube! Oh well, this'll do instead.
EDIT 2: Whoops! Sorry about that!

Oh yeah, and another thing: until her name gets explicitly confirmed for real, don't put down any examples for Content Leak just yet. It's still way too early for that.
EDIT: Okay okay, what's already been put there will do, never mind!

I believe the video was uploaded intentionally, especially considering that it stayed up for an hour/half an hour before getting removed, just that whoever uploaded didn't realize Movie Gem's name was in it/thought her name was already revealed before people started noticing it.
Speaking of, I want to add this to the Interface Spoiler example on the movie's page, but I'm not sure if it would qualify as troping the leak or even just natter:
- "[...] It was later found after her name leaked that the site's servers did have an image of her true name, though she still didn't have an actual render."

Jawbreakers on sale for 99¢I think almost all the potential problem pages are already locked. But, I’ll keep an eye on the Main namespace for potential relevant trope pages.
My musician pageI've got the Rivals and Protagonists character page on my watchlist. We might need to keep an eye on Characters.Pokemon Generation III Treecko To Sharpedo for Obstagoon, but I'm not even sure how to categorize it.

That in itself is also speculative though.
