This is a thread for checking up on pages for works that have not been released yet, to make sure that they are not straying into rampant speculation or posting crazy behind the scenes spoilers. You can bring both individual examples or entire pages to attention here.
In extreme cases, any page can be locked, but hopefully that won't be necessary.
(As these pages often are hit with zero-context examples and shoehorning as well, all four - speculation, spoilers, ZCEs, and shoehorning may get addressed simultaneously.)
The policy governing this effort is Creating A Work Page For An Unreleased Work. Cleanup is being tracked using the Unreleased Works sandbox.
All pages for unreleased works should include a %% comment at the top of the page, confirming the policy and linking to this thread and the Administrivia page. It doesn't have to be exactly the same as the example provided here, but this provides a template to work with.
%% Speculative troping is not allowed on TV Tropes.
%%
%% We trope what DOES happen in works, not what MIGHT happen or is LIKELY to happen.
%%
%% For unreleased works where all we have to go on is advertising and other supplemental materials, we have some detailed guidelines, which can be found at Administrivia/CreatingAWorkPageForAnUnreleasedWork.
%%
%% NOTE - these rules also mean that unreleased works should only have one page image, and that image should NOT be changed again until the work is released.
%%
%% If you have questions, please consult the Unreleased Work Speculation Cleanup thread at https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=15514631230A64268600

%% Thank you.

Reviewing Desperados III, because while the citations were corrected, many examples still lack complete context:
- An Axe To Grind: The gameplay demo shows that Hector can use his hunting axe to execute enemies swiftly. Acceptable
- Badass Longcoat: As shown in the reveal trailer, Cooper has gotten himself a longer coat. ZCE; so what if he wears a longer coat? "Wears a coat" isn't a trope.
- Badass Beard: The gameplay demo features Hector, showing he has a full beard that isn't just for show; he's a capable hunter who can use traps to his advantage and swiftly kill enemies with his axe. Acceptable, but check with the badass clean-up thread
- Bear Trap: In the gameplay demo, Hector has a huge one in his arsenal, which he can use to dispose of enemies, either by waiting until they step on them or luring them into it. ZCE; Huge what? Wind-up teeth? Yes, they can be used for this trope, which is about traps that snap onto people's legs.
- Bullet Time: The gameplay demo briefly enters this state if a player is spotted by an enemy, allowing you to either dispatch them before alerting the others or retreat. ZCE; what is "this state"? Do bullets move slower or stop completely? Do bullets move slower while the enemies stop completely? "This state" does not describe the trope.
- I Call Her "Vera": In the gameplay demo, Hector refers to his giant bear trap as Bianca. Acceptable
- The Gunslinger: In the gameplay demo, John Cooper proves to be the most useful if a situation requires bullets. That being said, getting overwhelmed results in a guaranteed defeat. ZCE; how does Cooper put the "cool" into "cool shooting"?
- Only a Flesh Wound: One of Cooper's lines when being damaged in the gameplay demo is "just a scratch," which includes getting shot. Acceptable
- Short-Range Shotgun: Averted with Hector's shotgun in the gameplay demo, which has a mid-range along with a spread allowing you to hit multiple enemies. Does this trope allow for aversions? I'm not even certain it does avert the trope, given the flexibility in the description.

This was recently added under Author's Saving Throw on Persona 5's YMMV page as an example regarding the Updated Re-release which doesn't come out until October:
- Shiho shall appear in more cutscnes in Royal if Ann's trailer is anything to go on. This fixes the They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character problem people had with Shiho.
Should this be cut? The scene with Shiho in Ann's trailer is the only thing regarding Royal she's been shown in, and it could be literally the only new cutscene she appears in. The "Wasted a Perfectly Good Character" problem that most people have with Shiho is that she's not a Confidant, and the trailer doesn't confirm if she will be.
I'm illiterate. Superman 64 has a better characters than The Last of Us Part II.Took a break for a couple of days and missed the large HighCrate post
on Age of Wonders: Planetfall.
Just want to restate that most of these "speculative" examples are based on beta footage I've seen and even linked to in this thread. I just didn't want to say as such at first, because it was in Russian, and footage from English-language streamers may not have shown the same things (i.e. I'm not sure if any other video shows Assembly's shotgunners shoot down Vanguard drones, which is where the short-range shotgun text comes from).
Now, I could edit that in, or even specifically search for English-language videos (some of the Kir'ko, Assembly and Syndicate tropes can just be cited through their trailers). However, this game is out next month, so I'm not sure there's a point to either cutting these examples, or adding sources that'll be gone in a month.

Wait, Digimon game description was saved through Google cache? Nice! It would be great if someone could do that for VisualNovel.Ciconia When They Cry as well, as it also had a pretty good description. Western Animation.Primal and WesternAnimation.Mira Royal Detective may also have had decent descriptions, though I am obviously not sure anymore.
Now, I want to bring further awareness to the Film.Whered You Go Bernadette page, which I believe is salvageable (work has two decent-size trailers), but is in a very poor state right now, with mediocre description and no image or valid tropes.
Series.Scream Resurrection is much better off, as it already has three well-cited tropes: only reason I'm not taking it off the sandbox yet is because I believe Shout-Out entry is not clear enough, but I messaged the troper behind it, so I believe it'll get fixed soon as well.

A real shotgun shoots pellets that have less inertia the further they travel, which translates into doing less damage over distance. If the game deals 10 damage to adjacent targets, 10 damage to targets 30 meters away, and 0 damage to targets 40 meters away, that's still an example of Short-Range Shotgun, even if most games limit the distance to 20 meters. The trope is also "close range gun deals more damage than long range gun", which would also be averted to be realistic.

By this point, it's silly to claim otherwise. This policy was meant to prevent speculation, not to prevent pre-release info.
Given the ridiculously strong evidence that (e.g.) Scorbunny is a Fire type, I don't believe it strictly necessary to cite its reveal trailer—but it's still possible to word a citation in a non-intrusive manner, so we might as well cite it anyway.

Good.
Also, just a friendly reminder for everyone that if/when one of the works on the first list fails to get a page by the time it officially releases, you shouldn't just cut the redlink from here, but also move it to one of the List Of Shows That Need Summary sub-pages.

So, should I put in a request on the locked pages thread to uncomment the Pokémon Sword and Shield starter descriptions?
Keet cleanupWe got a new Steven Universe: The Movie poster
in the house! Should we replace the current page image with it?
EDIT: Never mind, somebody already did.

I have things to do and daddy issues to repress! From WesternAnimation.Steven Universe The Movie, I commented out the following for lacking citation:
- Costume Evolution: Steven swapped out his red star shirt with a blue shirt, and now dons a pink jacket.
It was unhidden and changed to:
- Costume Evolution: The poster shows that inbetween "Change Your Mind" and the movie, Steven changed iconic his [sic] red star shirt in favor of a blue one, and now wears a pink jacket.
This is a classic case of faux-citation; despite saying "the poster shows," this is actually more speculative by pinning it down to a timeframe that I'm very skeptical can actually be established by a still image.

Reiterating my call for Pokémon Masters and Pokemon Masters Trailer to be cut. There have been multiple calls for anyone with the knowledge and willingness to do so to rehabilitate these pages, and no one has stepped forward. The work doesn't meet the minimum criteria for pageworthiness in any case; the only reason it has a page at all is the grandfather clause.
It's an example-less stub. Get rid of it.

I can’t object. It should only be a month or two before there’s enough tropeable (tropable?) material to work with anyway, but the marketing as of right now has been too vague even from a non-trope perspective. As for the trailer, that probably doesn’t need a page at all, and I’d bet only exists due to confusion and growing pains surrounding the new-at-the-time policy.
Alright, I have two things:
One: Borderlands 3:
- N.G.O. Superpower: Maliwan now takes on the role of the "big bad MegaCorp" that the player ends up fighting against, just like Atlas, Hyperion, and Dahl in the previous games. Rhys is the new CEO of Atlas this time around, so you're fighting along side his own rebuilt Atlas forces.
OK. I can understand how someone who isn't familiar with the lore of Borderlands can see this as "there's more than just an evil corporation" in this context, so how about this:
- N.G.O. Superpower: The lore of Borderlands is that Mega Corporations toppled the central government that controlled the Six Galaxies and established themselves as governments. Maliwan now takes on the role of the "big bad MegaCorp" that the player ends up fighting against, just like Atlas, Hyperion, and Dahl in the previous games. Rhys has since become the new CEO of Atlas, and enlists your aid to help fight off Maliwan, who is trying to snuff out a rising competitor.
If you feel that's too specific.. or not specific enough for Borderlands 3 specifically.. well I was considering adding some general tropes that apply to the franchise as a whole to the Borderlands hub page.
Second: Astral Chain:
- Cyberpunk: The game takes major cues from various cyberpunk works (Takahisa Taura specifically credits Shirow Masamune's Ghost in the Shell and Appleseed), with transhuman characters mentally connected to the biomechanical legion weapons.
This was deleted citing no source. I literally posted the source in my Edit Reason
when I added the trope, but if it will satisfy this thread, I will post it into the example proper. This is straight Word of God confirmation from the game's director.
- Cyberpunk: The game takes major cues from various cyberpunk works (Takahisa Taura specifically credits
Shirow Masamune's Ghost in the Shell and Appleseed), with transhuman characters mentally connected to the biomechanical legion weapons.

Re: Costume Evolution, the last aired episode was "Change Your Mind". We're not getting any new episodes until after the movie airs, and the comics are non-canonical (and take place before all this anyway).
Jawbreakers on sale for 99¢

I think Grookey and Scorbunny's descriptions on Pokémon: Generation VIII Families should be uncommented. The policy only says "All There in the Manual, Word of God, and Word of Saint Paul, for practical and pragmatic reasons, are banned from being the sole source of an example, or having examples of their own." It does not say that information from official websites
isn't allowed in descriptions. It's not Speculative Troping since it's not really "troping" at all, and does anyone really think the starter Pokemon could change types after they've been revealed and when starters have always been Grass, Water, and Fire?
