This is a thread for checking up on pages for works that have not been released yet, to make sure that they are not straying into rampant speculation or posting crazy behind the scenes spoilers. You can bring both individual examples or entire pages to attention here.
In extreme cases, any page can be locked, but hopefully that won't be necessary.
(As these pages often are hit with zero-context examples and shoehorning as well, all four - speculation, spoilers, ZCEs, and shoehorning may get addressed simultaneously.)
The policy governing this effort is Creating A Work Page For An Unreleased Work. Cleanup is being tracked using the Unreleased Works sandbox.
All pages for unreleased works should include a %% comment at the top of the page, confirming the policy and linking to this thread and the Administrivia page. It doesn't have to be exactly the same as the example provided here, but this provides a template to work with.
%% Speculative troping is not allowed on TV Tropes.
%%
%% We trope what DOES happen in works, not what MIGHT happen or is LIKELY to happen.
%%
%% For unreleased works where all we have to go on is advertising and other supplemental materials, we have some detailed guidelines, which can be found at Administrivia/CreatingAWorkPageForAnUnreleasedWork.
%%
%% NOTE - these rules also mean that unreleased works should only have one page image, and that image should NOT be changed again until the work is released.
%%
%% If you have questions, please consult the Unreleased Work Speculation Cleanup thread at https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=15514631230A64268600
%%
%% Thank you.

TroperWall / WikiMagic Cleanup~BigBadShadow25 Asked about that in ATT.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupHeard that Splatoon 3 has been leaked about a week before release so keep an extra eye on its pages.
Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite.Reposting from the previous page:
Just found there's a page for the now cancelled Batgirl movie (Script.Batgirl), despite the fact that aside from behind the scenes photos we don't have any promotional material for the film, and the film's script has never been leaked - despite the fact that the page is in the script namespace.
Given the phrasing of the examples, I'm inclined to support a cut.
Link to TRS threads in project mode here.Yeah, we've cut pages for unproduced works before if there isn't even an outline for how the story was supposed to go (as we did with the Sinister Six movie). I also approve of a cut.
Odd question... should we be troping The Winds Of Winter, the much-awaited next installment of A Song of Ice and Fire, as several character sheets of the franchise do?
These trope entries are mainly based on chapters author George R. R. Martin shares on his blog, so they are "released"...but always in the capacity of "preview" chapters. We don't know if they've been edited, their further implications for the storyline, or if they'll even be in the final product… or if the book will even come out.

There's a page for Kamen Rider BLACK SUN which starts on October 28th, and all the examples on the page are uncited.
So I’m noticing that the next Pixar movie is listed under the release date and significant preview section of the future works page. Does concept art count as significant?
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.Scrubbed Kamen Rider BLACK SUN, indeed the Fantastic Racism one is the only valid entry as written and even then it's kind of wobbly. (What sort of infighting?)
Letting page editors ~Siegfried 1337 ~Ultra Troper 22 ~Tropers/Kofboy ~Tropers/n3xus know that the page is currently a stub and will be cut if not improved soon.
I have recently deleted the remaining tropes from Kamen Rider BLACK SUN. I was adding tropes based I what I've seen in the trailers so far. I realized what I did wrong and will hold off on adding tropes until the series comes out.
Agreed with above. There could be a chance that some of the material may be a case of Never Trust a Trailer, so I'm holding back until things are cleared up.
Also, namespace is wrong- it should be a film and not series.

MB Pending | MB Drafts | MB DatesUpon further reflection, I have a question. Should I at least add a disclaimer to Kamen Rider BLACK SUN explaining that the series is currently unreleased and asking tropers to refrain from adding tropes until the series comes out in full, or should delete the article altogether and wait for the show to release?
I sincerely want your feedback before taking action.
If a page is lacking in valid tropes, it just flat doesn't get a page until it can get some.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupIt currently has none, but I received an angry notifier the last time I sent a page to the cut list "too soon" after commenting out speculative examples (for Sonic Origins, which wound up being an untropeable Compilation Rerelease when it was released.)
Give it a few days, then cut list it if it still has fewer than three valid examples.
So some people are troping Film.Werewolf By Night 2022 under the assumption that an animatronic rotting corpse is a character named Ulysses Bloodstone. I don’t know enough about the character to judge, but I don’t think that’s an assumption people should be making.
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.Agreed. His daughter Elsa is apparently confirmed as one of the characters, so I can see how they made the assumption (although Ulysses isn’t usually undead in the comics). But it's still speculation and more at home on a WMG page.

I think I know how they got the idea. I rewatched the official trailer with captions on. The subtitles identified the corpse as Ulysses. (JUST Ulysses. Not Ulysses Bloodstone.)
Which makes me ask: are a trailer’s subtitles an approved source?
Edited by BigBadShadow25 on Sep 12th 2022 at 11:05:47 AM
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.I'd take the view that audio, video and subtitles are all equally valid, if these are official subtitles rather than auto-generated from audio. So "(referred to as Ulysses in subtitles)" might be acceptable, and wouldn't class as a spoiler.
But identifying him as Ulysses Bloodstone is still a step too far, even if it's increasingly likely to be him.

Agreed.
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.I'm considering adding an Older Than They Think entry to The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Ever since the initial teaser, people have been speculating that Zelda will be Link's companion du jour, which has been done before. However, since this is just speculation, would I be jumping the gun?

Hold off until it's been confirmed.
Film. The Little Mermaid 2023 has just one trope that correctly cites a promo material — the other entries are about casting announcements (Ariel and her sisters being racially diverse, Scuttle being voiced by a woman, etc) or carryovers from the original story (Wicked Witch).
I've scrubbed the page. Letting previous trope-adders ~Tropers/4power4 ~Goth Darkness ~Tropers/chris4449 know that the page is currently a stub and without two more tropes with enough context (including a promo material citation) it will be cut.
For real, someone will want to keep an eye on Film.Winnie The Pooh Blood And Honey. People are making assumptions.
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.
