This is a thread for checking up on pages for works that have not been released yet, to make sure that they are not straying into rampant speculation or posting crazy behind the scenes spoilers. You can bring both individual examples or entire pages to attention here.
In extreme cases, any page can be locked, but hopefully that won't be necessary.
(As these pages often are hit with zero-context examples and shoehorning as well, all four - speculation, spoilers, ZCEs, and shoehorning may get addressed simultaneously.)
The policy governing this effort is Creating A Work Page For An Unreleased Work. Cleanup is being tracked using the Unreleased Works sandbox.
All pages for unreleased works should include a %% comment at the top of the page, confirming the policy and linking to this thread and the Administrivia page. It doesn't have to be exactly the same as the example provided here, but this provides a template to work with.
%% Speculative troping is not allowed on TV Tropes.
%%
%% We trope what DOES happen in works, not what MIGHT happen or is LIKELY to happen.
%%
%% For unreleased works where all we have to go on is advertising and other supplemental materials, we have some detailed guidelines, which can be found at Administrivia/CreatingAWorkPageForAnUnreleasedWork.
%%
%% NOTE - these rules also mean that unreleased works should only have one page image, and that image should NOT be changed again until the work is released.
%%
%% If you have questions, please consult the Unreleased Work Speculation Cleanup thread at https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=15514631230A64268600

%% Thank you.

So I have a question about a page I created for Series. The Pentaverate, a Mike Myers show coming out on Netflix in the coming week based off a joke from an early Myers film called Film.So I Married An Axe Murderer where the main character’s father shares a crackpot theory about the organization. At one point on the show’s page, I had entires for Ascended Extra (because it was a throwaway joke in the film) and Real After All (because it was a conspiracy theory). But I removed them because it occurred to me that this might not be set in the same universe as the film. Was this a good call?
I'm inclined to say both of those are Speculative Troping but in the future please post the questionable entries here. Don't make us dig in the history.
Thanks. Sorry.
Someone on Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness added info based on leaks. Is that koshere?
No. We don't trope leaks.
Given that the teaser trailer for Sailor Moon Cosmos just came out and we've got a release timeframe for it (in this case, it's the summer of 2023), do you think we should consider doing a trope page for it or should we wait until we have more information?

He/His/Him. No matter who you are, always Be Yourself.RallyBot2 seems to be stealing tactics from our "favorite" ban evader. Judging from his edit history, he apparently commented out all the tropes on Sonic Origins and immediately cutlisted the page for being a stub, without giving people time to add trailer context back to the examples.
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.Characters.The Camp Half Blood Series Main Characters edit history:
This was an entry:
- Race Lift: White in the books and films, Black in the series.
- Preemptive — we can't trope a casting announcement until we see a promo material showing them (eg. poster, trailer). We also can't trope the show at all because it doesn't yet have a release date or any prmotional materials. A lot of things might still change (eg. what if the show gets cancelled or get recast).
A similar statement was then re-added by ~lbssb , edited since, and now stands at:
- Race Lift: A white blonde in the books, played by a black actress in the TV series. This was because Rick Riodan chose the actors to play his characters on the basis of talent rather than looks. Unfortunately, this change was met with controversy from fans who expected Annabeth to portrayed by a white actress.
The pitfall of troping fan reaction on an objective page aside, was my original reason in error and can we actually trope a casting announcement without any other promo material showing the character? Like at this point all we have is the title.
I didn't realize I was technically readding something that was removed. But since the casting is official, we can probably mention that part (it's not like the show is going to show us a black Annabeth and claim she's still white), just not the controversy part, that definitely belongs in YMMV (it definitely wasn't part of what I put down, my contribution was only the first line).

Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonWe can list it but I still don't think we should trope it until promo materials drop. Like I just pulled this from Archie's entry on Characters.Riverdale Archie Andrews (he is played as a white redhead, the actor is half-Samoan and white-passing):
- Race Lift: Averted, despite K.J. Apa (who plays him) being of Polynesian descent.
That's obviously not going to be the case here, but I think the precedent of not troping Race Lift just based on the announced actors' ethnicities (visible or not) should be set anyway.

Sonic Frontiers has these examples:
- Wide-Open Sandbox: A first for the franchise. Whereas most Sonic games have featured a stage select screen, world map, and/or hub world, the reveal trailer for Frontiers shows off a fully explorable open world, ala Breath of the Wild.
- Follow the Leader: If the reveal trailer is any indication, the game is taking a lot of notes from many modern open world games, particularly The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
As the page also mentions, these comparisons Discredited Meme, there isn't much known about the game and Zelda did not invent wide grass fields. Ok to trim?
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupI'd cut both, at least for now.
Street Fighter 6 currently has some gameplay footage available, but no specific release window (just a release year — 2023). Does this qualify it for a page?
If it isn't cut, it still needs a cleanup. None of the examples on the page cite any pre-release material.
Pinball cleanup threadDoes the "acceptable for troping" policy in Creating a Work Page for an Upcoming Work apply to new pages? If so, certain kinds of work pages needing "only pre-release material" would be contradicted by Future Works:
This states that a release date is needed for a new page, even with "significant pre-release material".
There's a difference between a release date and a release window. It used to be that we required an exact date, but we loosened the policy after a while.
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool. The Three Hopes demo came out not too long ago.
Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite. So someone needs to look over Film.Prey 2022. Lot of stuff from interviews and not from the trailer.
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire. There’s also this on VideoGame.Kingdom Hearts IV. Please advise:
- Tokyo Is the Center of the Universe: Quadratum is central to the Master of Master's grand plan due to its nature as a "fictional" universe which is insolated from the eternal struggle between light and darkness taking place in "reality". It's based on Shibuya.
The entry lacks needed citation anyway, but I don't know that that was even in any promotional material anyway.
SoundCloudThanks. I’m blanking it for now in case the guy wants to clarify. If he can’t I’ll cut it entirely.
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.Glass Onion is, well, a stub, but I'm not sure it can have a page yet? The only promo materials we have are the video showing the title and like one second of the characters on a boat.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge was removed from the list as it's released today. I am using a Twitch stream to help with example accuracy (for example, Mic Drop was revealed to be a celebration animation, not a taunt).

she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportSo I just created a page for WesternAnimation.Luck. Did not realize there was a tv show with a trivia page and ymmv page. Should I copy it to a new page (Luck 2022) and create a redirect/cut the current?

The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.
(Copied from ATT, as I had inexplicably forgotten about this thread:)
Can we get some extra eyes on pages related to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness? It seems to be attracting a lot of speculation on what's in the film, particularly around the fact that a team was confirmed to appear (The Illuminati), but its membership is still up in the air.
Most of it is coming from CuttingEdgeG; I undid some of their edits a few days ago for being speculation, but now they're re-adding them again linking a YouTube video as proof in the edit reasons — but one that's been taken offline, so I have no idea how accurate the claims are.
Even if G's in the clear for at least trying to cite a source, the film is still a week away and, given the amount of activity around its pages, I think we may need to take some precautions until it actually releases.
