Moon Rabbits. The Wiggypuff line, that evolves by the moon stone. Also female Nidoran.
You know, with the new region being based in Britain, and the new games being named Sword and Shield, I wondered if the legendaries would be based on Excalibur and Avalon, but the latter is a sheath.
The sheath is unnamed outside of the Fate-verse. Avalon is normally an island
Too bad that Team Plasma got the Knight-themed villain already.
King Arthur totes had a named shield. It was named (wikipedia save me) Wynebgwrthucher Pridwen.
The fire starter reminds me of something out of a western cartoon. Western Animation/Animaniacs, to be exact. I like the water one too. Can't decide which of the two to pick.
They’re so cute I can’t decide which one to choose!!!

Looks fun, but it seems a little like a 3DS game with the graphics.
Okay, I get that people don't want this type again, but everyone's assuming that Scorbunny's going to evolve into a Fire/Fighting-Type because it's an Athletic Bipedal Pokemon, and I for one feel that that's kiiiiiinda racist.
So looks like they basically took the Sun and Moon graphic style and upres'd it to basic console levels and I'm actually A-OK with that. My expectations were pretty mild in regards to presentation (just not like Let's Go) and that was about the minimum I expected. It remains to be seen how the whole region will turn out, but I like how the cities actually look like cities now. Both default trainer designs look decent enough, though I'm not a fan of the male MC's instrument case of a backpack. That's going to be swapped out ASAP. Now the evil team better be knife-wielding hooligans who speak with borderline incomprehensible northern dialects.
The starters, my kneejerk reaction is to go with the rabbit since that's my favorite animal of the three but we'll see how the evolutions go. A soccer-themed rabbit absolutely screams Fire/Fighting.
I mostly just hope its evolutions look good. I can forgive repeated typing if it feels good to throw the thing out.
Mizerous: I disagree. Yes, they’re a pretty typical Pokémon style, but the detail of the environments, the sense of distance to some of the background elements, and the shading in the character and Pokémon models would break a 3DS.

Something about Brit Punk. Maybe a music based villain team?
Because Hawaii is so known for its street gangs?
The villain team may or may not be thematic to the region.
"Team Bolero". "Team Symphony". "The PokeMaestros". "Orchestra of Pokemon".

Playing on the Brit Punk: while Dark-type would be an obvious choice for the leader's specialization, maybe Electric would be an interesting second choice?
Kind of interesting that the Hall of Fame theme was used as the central musical motif for the trailer. I wonder if that was an arbitrary choice, or if it ties into the central themes of the games.
Galar is the region that started the institution of the Pokemon League, and its first league champion (the first champion ever) is a King Arthur-esque figure.
I don't think the villain teams have ever been based on anything in the actual region? Galar looks a bit more thematic than usual, but I'm not ready to rule out it having mad scientists running around
Sword and Shield huh?
Looks cool. Can't wait to see what the new pokes for the region are beyond the starters.
What else do we have to go on? For all we know, they'll be themed around the greek gods or hollywood entertainers or mimes.
Hylarn: I was going to say the same thing, but Team Rocket are Yakuza, and Team Flare are very fashion-focused. So there IS precedent. But it’s not overwhelming.
I'm not terribly impressed with the starters, but it's hard to judge them until you see their third forms anyway. They're all cute, for sure. Love the scenery and the general aesthetics of the region, though - it looks gorgeous.
Milerun: The idea that the Pokémon League structure originated in Galar is interesting, and would provide a cool contrast with Alola, where it largely didn’t exist.
Were there any signs or props in the trailer that looked like they could be based on new Pokemon? There was a wind vane, but it looked like a Fletchling rather than a new bird.
Not much. One idea that I had is that this Generation's equivalent of the Guardian Deities could be based off of the Knights of the Round Table.
