I think you have those backwards.
My various fanfics. My assumption that the whole reason they used Maria as a contemporary of Carol was so that Monica would be an adult and visibly similar in age in the "modern" era.
My guess is that Maria will actually be a fairly minor character going forward. Maybe not entirely irrelevant to the plot, but I expect that her role as the primary member of Carol's supporting cast will be replaced by Monica.

Oops. Fixed
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.I have to admit the idea of evil skrull would be seen as weird considering how the movie pretty much make it space refugess, is a smpathy casting that would make evil skrull take a lot to shake off.
Unleast the they make him sympathy as well, that could work.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"Hmm. It would be pretty interesting if we got a sympathetic version of Kl'rt the Super Skrull, especially now that Marvel has the rights to FF characters back.

An antagonist Skrull would probably not be evil so much as vengeful. While Talos and his faction just want to live in peace without being the victims of genocide, Kl'rt and his faction would want payback against the Kree.
It'd be akin to, say, the Ur-Quan from Star Control.

Disgusted, but not surprisedSo, the post-credits scene with Goose, was that supposed to be post-snap or was he just in the office alone and that scene takes place in 1995 as well?
Pretty sure that's somewhere between the events of this movie and The Avengers.
Self-serious autistic metalhead who goes by any pronouns. (avvie template source)That's how Shield has the Tesseract again in Avengers. No clue where Goose is. Maybe she died of old age?
In the comics, flerkens can use their internal pocket dimension to teleport.
Goose could be anywhere.
God I hope not ;_;

New theme music also a boxY'know, I thought it was weird that they genderswapped Goose for the film - his inspiration, Chewie, is female. Seemed like a totally arbitrary choice to make.
But it occurs to me that it might be for the best, actually. The comics had a hilarious gag where Chewie lays like a million flerken eggs, but that was in space. That gag might be a little less funny and more terrifying if Goose did that in Nick Fury's office.

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.
I disagree with this even more than I’ve disagreed with your Anti Captain America Rants.
Because Fury’s reaction would be great.
One Strip! One Strip! All modern cats are actually descended from the common ancestor of Goose the flerken.

I mean, did they ever say that Goose was male?
I think Fury did. Though this assumes Flerkin have the same genders as cats...
"These 'no-nonsense' solutions of yours just don't hold water in a complex world of jet-powered apes and time travel."Goose is stated to be a female by Mar-Vell.
I think we've finally found the plot of Captain Marvel 2.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Seems like someone else tried to bring that stupid controversy here. Oh, well.
Anyway, do we have any news on what Captain Marvel 2 will be about?
What was the controversy?
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult. It doesn't matter really

Since it's inevitable that Monica gets powers at some point and become Photon/Spectrum/Pulsar/Captain Marvel 2, I wonder if they're going to have Maria undergo some kind of Death by Origin Story. I hope not, but it's possible.
