The game is still on and you are always welcome. I'd say that this Easton is in a parallel universe because it is specified to be in New York (the state, with the odd geographical change of having bodies of water near it).

If you join now, you might be in time for some significant chaos soon...

The Treaty of Ford

The Treaty of Ford is a recent document that was written up by the legal team of Kinetic Impulse, a megacorp that was researching space technologies using the then recent metahumans that had been popping up. Realizing what damage could be done the Treaty was written up to provide rules of engagement and what weaponry could be used legally in any fight as the access to new environments and new strange technologies could cause massive damage. This was agreed on and has since become the main standard for Corporate violent engagements beyond the borders and laws of Earth.

The document rules that all fights must have a set goal, either the capture of a colony, station, or base, and that the captured location must acquiesce to the victors, that the losing party must be treated fairly. The idea was to make it so that people could walk away from these fights alive a lot easier.

One company decided to bank on this and soon added suggestions for a series of platforms they had developed, warmechs, the company was the now defunct Olympus Robotics, which made various mech platforms.

Mechs for their troubles have been adopted as the main weapon of Corporate Warfare at this point due to their impractical but useful nature.

Control

Control is a unknown individual, gender, identity, creed, whatever, completely lost. Nobody's certain if they are a human or a metahuman, all that's known is they are a major conspiracy nut and can contact practically any hero out there. Control only seems to have one goal, to free metahumans from any Megacorp captivity and seems capable of getting people the resources needed to conduct these raids.

Control's goals are unknown but they seem intent on doing good.

Corporate Tech Classifications

Just a few details on all the technology, ships, and weaponry that corporations use in setting since thanks to me, we'll be seeing a lot of.

  • Driftspace and Driftspace drive rings - A hyperspace drive developed by Kinetic Impulse that kickstarted the next great space race. Called "drift" for the fact that ships don't exactly travel but temporarily drift along hyperspace corridors. After every drift, the driftspace ring must collect energy over 24 hours before launching again.
  • Warmechs - The primary form of Corporate Warfare thanks to the Treaty of Ford, Warmechs are 9-10 meter tall robotic weapon platforms piloted and designed to cause mass destruction and devastation as needed.
  • Jumpdrive - Currently a experimental model meant to provide a alternative form of FTL travel for smaller ships so people don't have to use Driftspace carriers. Currently not out of testing as they are still studying teleporting Metahumans to determine mechanics, Driftspace as such is still considered faster due to the shorter range of current jump drives.
  • Impulse Class Carrier - Standard model corporate ships, come with a hab ring that rotates to provide gravity as well as a standard 6 Pulse Engine cones at the back for maneuvering. Carriers Dropships and mech units for corporate pilots.
  • Mech Drop Ship - 12 meter tall egg shaped ships meant to carry Mechs to planetary surfaces as needed, simple in design and purpose. 4 large Pulse engines drop the ship to the surface and help it return to orbit with ease.
  • Pulse Engine - Semi-Nuclear engines that provide the main source of movement when FTL methods are out, the engines can be run at a low burn for constant acceleration or a high burn for needed maneuvers.
