This does feel more like a Harley Quinn solo movie with a few sidekicks than an ensemble movie so far… Hell, it's even in the subtitle…
Things were better when she was a villain.
We've only had a teaser, not even a full trailer yet. And the reason Harley is face front on all the posters is because she's a super popular character.
I'd say wait until the first actual trailer.
Yeah. It's a bit off-putting for me.
And that's the weird thing, she's still a villain. It's only in adaptations (mostly the latest animated series, and Injustice 2, but at least the latter went into a debatable redemption arc) that don't gp that route because they want to capitalize in her popularity.
Hell, even the movie Suicide Squad is gulty, for making her a Card-Carrying Villain, withoit showing her doing anything pretty bad onscreen.
DC comics and WB really needs to decide what they want to do with her. It will only send mixed messages to her future fans. I can only imagine the horror that the little girls that liked her in the new animated series would ho after a quick google search and reading about her and Joker killing the unborn baby of Superman, or any atrocity that she did in the comics (being honest, havent bren following her in the comicverse).
I suppose one of the stillborn Batfleck movies was gonna show how she helped to kill Robin, but they already put a kibosh on that it seems…
DC and continuity have a bad relationship on film.
Injustice is an alternate continuity. People are as likely to care about what Harley did in that universe as they are likely to care about how Superman and Wonder Woman are written there.
As for the comics, most people don't read those and get their DC takes from movies and cartoons.
Harley is just really burning me out.
Plus regardless of her popularity which I'm not denying, she's become a major Spotlight Stealing Squad.
The dead Robin was apparently supposed to be Dick Grayson, so I consider that story not being told a dodged bullet of the highest order.
i dunno, she kiling Robin could be intersting since most of the Time she Is stuck between "joker sidekick but not a villian"
And wait...Dick? Sure?
Yup, Snyder has confirmed the dead Robin was supposed to be Dick.
... Does the guy have something against humor or something?
DC Comics Reveals Full Look at the Birds of Prey Cast With Stunning Covers
Apparently, though, that also comes with pushing back the Birds of Prey comic run planned for this October to February as a Black Label instead of an ongoing.

Why? I'm not familiar with the whole Robin thing…
Legend dictates that Dick Grayson (the first Robin) is destined to become Nightwing while Jason Todd (the second Robin) would be the one to suffer death by Joker, only to be reborn as Red Hood.
So no Grayson would mean no Nightwing. And they REALLY want to see Nightwing realizes in live-action.
So yeah, not sure why Snyder thought it would've been a great idea to have Dick be the one to get Joker'd... maybe it amused him.

He's pretty much on that route in Titans so even if this idea left the cutting room floor we'd still have a live action Nightwing.
I don't even think Dick being the dead Robin was going to leave the cutting room floor anyway. It wouldn't be the first time they gave elements of one Robin to another one any way.

He did also kill off Jimmy Olsen because he thought it would be shocking...
A future DC movie will retcon how that Jimmy Olsen was a cousin of the real Jimmy Olsen.
Hey, pretty much everyone is pretending BvS didn't happen, so...
I would love a Superman's Pal, Jimmy Olsen comedy movie. I think it would be hilarious, especially based on the current Matt Fraction comic.
WB would never make it, of course, because BATMAN MOVIES FOREVER, but still.
We're in a thread about a movie that isn't starring Batman.
It's starring one of Batman's former villains, who is deeply associated with Batman, and is also starring a bunch of characters that started as secondary characters to Batman (aside Black Canary).
Bo P may star characters that originate from Batman, but it isn't a Batman movie anymore than Black Panther is a Fantastic Four movie.
Not to mention, they also put out a Shazam and Aquaman movie recently and have a Wonder Woman sequel coming out.
