Nintendo owns this IP btw. Also yeah the dog costume is youtube only.
It's fun that you can apparently deal with petty crimes in between missions.
I'm honestly miffed that they cut that out for the Direct.
I am trying to figure out who the composer is. Is it a composer (or composers) for Bayonetta? Keiichi Okabe? Hiroyuki Sawano? Yuki Kajiura?
some details about the setting
This setting reeks of old school anime and I love it.
Its not like Anime has changed all that much since then.
Like its home land its slow to change.
Well hey, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Anyways, glad to see Hideki Kamiya on another game, even if he's merely the supervisor.
Since Yusuke Hashimoto left platinum a while back, Hideki Kamiya is probably directing Bayo 3 since Scalebound was canceled.
Kamiya didn't make a word of it though. Maybe Saito?
PlatinumGames talks a bit about the team behind "Astral Chain".
You know the twin protags seem to Speak in Unison in the trailer and unlike, say, the Fire Emblem trailer definitely treated the two as equals footage wise. I'm really not sure if they're customizable avatars or there's something else going on.
Here's a Story Synopsis for the game.
More details form Siliconera.
The game has that old school 80's and 90's cyberpunk OVA vibe to it. I love it!
@Shirow: I think it indicates a theme of links and synchronicity. Like the bond between twin siblings and the way the characters and their legions (or stands if you like) move as one.
Also, since the footage shows that you can play as either of the main characters on their own, it could be a way of indicating the differences between voice acting depending on which character you play.
I seriously doubt they'd be talking in unison all throughout because that would probably get old incredibly quickly.

Nintendo UK has uploaded some story details and some images that may have already been seen.
Nintendo of America has uploaded some new images on their Twitter.
The art direction makes me wonder how the game is going to perform hardware-wise.

The game seems to be cel-shaded, which I believe helps disguise lower poly counts and shouldn't hamper performance.
Plus Platinum probably wants their Stylish Action game to run at a solid 60fps.
I wonder if this or Babylon's Fall was the top-secret game that Platinum spoke about back in May of last year that would "turn the action genre on its head".
PlatinumGames shoots down Astral Chain/Scalebound comparisons, explains why they work so well with Nintendo, and talks about Switch's success
New keyart of Astral Chain from the Japanese e-Shop.
Not surprisingly, they put a lot of focus on the Female MC's behind.
....or maybe, I'm the one with the problem since I immediately noticed it.
Its just a butt.
everyone has one.
People are focusing on the female MC's ass and spine, and I am here contemplating what the hell "Generic Seafood" is.

Their menu is just 'fish', 'crab' and 'shrimp'.
Also, I like how old-school anime this looks.
