I like the current and I like it way better than the suggestions.
Pity it's too dark, but otherwise it's a perfect illustration of the trope in my book (he's riding a horse in the dark and dangerous woods, there is a castle in the background, and the pose looks like he's determined to save the princess).

My problem with the suggestions is that while they all do look the part more context might be needed to really sell the trope.
Would a picture of the prince wooing the princess work perhaps?
Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper WallI'd say go for a wooing image. That way it is harder to suspect the titular character as a Prince Charmless (which, coincidentally, Shrek's version falls under).
For every pioneer on every new frontier: Be brave. Be bold. And stay wiggly.
Were there a version where the cutting out was cleaner, that'd be a prime choice.
Fair enough, I'll keep my eye out for a better picture then. And yeah it is missing the bravery part, but it does sell the trope better than the others do since it provides a little more information about the prince.
Edit to avoid double posting: Here be some other options

The cutting on three is still not perfect, but I do think it's cleaner than the other one.

Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper Wall14.3 has both characters smiling, so it's the best.
For every pioneer on every new frontier: Be brave. Be bold. And stay wiggly. That's plenty of consensus. 14.3's in and tagged; caption?

I'm wondering if the current page quote could be a caption...

True. The reason I'm wondering is because when I checked on mobile earlier it was right under the picture and I thought it was the caption, and I was like "hey, that's a good caption". We usually don't want the caption and image to be from the same work, right?

I don't think current image quite hits the mark. Two examples from Sleeping Beauty. Other ideas?
