What the hell, hero?
#1: Jan 19th 2019 at 7:43:32 PM

50 years ago, a shooting star shower fell all over the planet, much to the dismay of scientists. The stars were actually star crystals that fell all over the planet. These stars were capsules, bringing invisible beings, smaller than the human hand, called Faerids. These Faerids eventually began to bind themselves to children, becoming visible to them and slowly growing with them and their desires, granting the children abilities that are tied with these desires. These children, called Sparkles, are mostly females for some reasons, but it's not strange for a boy to become a Sparkle.

These Faerids were not actually doing this willingly. Neither they came just to perform this union. The following sequence is in every Sparkle's minds in the moment of connection: Faerids are beings from an Earth-like planet on a double star system in the Andromeda Galaxy. This planet died due to the actual dominant species, which are called The Darkoos (names are, of course, things of the children), which are the human equivalents of the planet. They drove a lot of species to extinction in the attempt to tame their planet. Seeing this, the surviving Faerids, which were usually hunted down and forced to give psychic nurture to the Darkoos, decided to flee by gathering near a mountain of crystal and, guided by a mysterious voice, they fused with it, turning it into a super fast meteor that broke the laws of physics in order escape the dying planet. They began to grow and mature as ethereal essences in this star until it broke down by hitting the moon (because why not). The impact shattered the crystal over our natural satellite, but the ethereal beings were called by the voice to fly to the planet and gather humans using the shards as "ships"... for the Darkoos will follow. "Half a Hundred of Dances on the Star will pass for [the arrival of these beings], said the voice in the end.

After this, the first Sparkles began to gather up and try to discover what may this prophecy lead to... with the smartest ones believing it to be more AROUND rather than ON and suspecting that, in around 50 years (half a hundred times Earth "dances" around our star), the beings that already wrecked a planet would come to wreck another one. The Sparkles kept coming in increasing numbers, as there had been a LOT of Faerids, so the oldest ones began to teach the younger ones about the new powers they were getting, the prophecy meaning and what not and, not to long afterwards, an academy was made for these Sparkles, the Fae Academia.

And that's all the backstory you get when you are discovered, after the whole fusion thing. It's time to do your best! Fairy Break!

Basically this is the idea: A Miraculous-like setting where children fused with a not-kwami become students on a school for people like them, in preparation for the arrival of the human-like invaders that will happen at any moment of this RP. This will have a lot of Mahou Shoujo tropes because why not.

Now, some lore:
  • Faerids: They are hand-sized beings that are usually ethereal and undetectable by any conventional mean, but they can fuse with a human and gain a visible form, making the human a Sparkle in the process. This form will be based on the desire of their respective Sparkle (like, if the desire is being a firefighter, the Faerid may end up like a cute hydrant, having a firefighter cop or even a fire dog) and will gain some minor abilities in this form, though the main ability they all share is being able to pass through physical objects other than glass. They also gain the ability to speak the language of their user and their feelings synchronize. They don't need to eat, as they sustain themselves with the energy from our sun, but they are known to enjoy apples a lot.
  • Sparkles: They are extraordinary people with powers granted to them by the bonding with a Faerid. They are more likely to gein this bond during their teenage years (10 to 16 are the most likely ages), but there had been some case of children younger than that age known to get bonded. There's 1 Sparkle every 11000 people in the whole planet, and of those only 1 of every 11 is a male (though I would not protest for the actual RP to have a different ratio). They all have a distinct, unusual appearance trait that's a dead giveaway called the "Sparkle Mark" (maybe strange eyes, strands of hair in a weird color, etc.) and it's related to the desire that triggered the bonding, as is the special power they gain. Their power has three traits, all based on the desire.
    • Trick: It's a basically a passive power they have active all the time and it can be an enhanced sense or a special immunity (a Sparkle born from the desire of being a firefighter may either be immune to fire or may sense fire nearby, one with the desire of being a ballerina may have perfect equilibrium, for example).
    • Wave: It's a more active power, which can be less directly related to the desire. It's a defense mechanism the Faerids imbue their Sparkles with, and it can actually use a couple of techniques, though it depends on the Sparkle's level The Faerids use a much smaller version of this.
    • Fairy Break!: It's a full-on magical transformation that's actually a shared power of the Faerids and the Sparkles, the name given due to the transformation's look: The Faerid becomes a floating crystal as a response and the Sparkle, by for of will causes this to spontaneously break apart. The Faerid then fuses with the Sparkle, giving them a new outfit and enlarging the "giveaway" they have. It also enhances their powers a lot. However, it is taxing for both Faerid and Sparkle and it also depends on the Sparkle's practice and state.
  • Darkoos: The antagonists of the story and the reason the Faerids escaped to Earth. They will arrive on the future en mass, but some are hidden in the area. They only have one giveaway: they can's be phased through by the Faerids, so they can physically grab them and all that. They are unable to sever a bond, so they may capture both the Sparkle and the Faerid to try and feed of their connection. They are also known for their strange technology, thousands of years ahead of ours.

Anyway, that's how the story comes: You're a newly bonded sparkle and you had been taken to the main Sparkle school in the world, Fae Academia (pronounced "Fa-eh" instead of "Feh", for some reason)
This is the application template:
  • Name: (Nicknames can be added too)
  • Age: (10-16)
  • Appearance: (add height and weight, but can put art instead of a description; add both normal and transformed)
  • Backstory: (6 lines min)
  • Personality: (4 lines min)
  • Sparkle Mark: (what and where it is)
  • Faerid: (Name and appearance)
  • Desire: (will be the basis for the three points below)
    • Trick: (passive power, describe some example uses if needed)
    • Wave: (describe it as well, including how well can your character use it)
    • Fairy Break!: (describe the techniques they can use now and how they look in the transformation. OPTIONAL: add the actual transformation call; despite the exclamation mark, there's no need to use it as such as it's actually the denomination of the power. Seriously)

I, of course, accept suggestions if you have your two cents added.

I used to plug my deviantart here but turns out the link was too long.

4 months is pretty late. As a rule of thumb anything past 1 month with no activity is dead unless its RP thread is still updating.
