... It took me longer than I like to admit to find the actual difference between basic and complex spells. Now I need to do an editing thing.

Out of curiosity, is there going to be a Discord server for this game?

That's something I'm still contemplating. I almost certainly will utilize discord, but there's a couple of possibilities that I've been thinking over.

The first is of course making a new server for it.

The second is that, since two of the players already accepted are from my main RP, City of Lost Characters, with two more that have been saying they'll jump in but just haven't finished signups yet, I could just utilize that server and make a couple of extra text channels for topic organizing.

The plus sides would be that it's an already active server so it's not like it would suddenly go dark for extended periods and end up unused, and myself and the other people already there wouldn't have to be in an additional server.

The main down side though would be there being a number of people who aren't involved in the game that could suddenly jump into the chatting about it. I trust the lot of them to not be dicks or anything, but I could understand the hesitation on it.

Actually, it is possible to make private channels within a server that are accessible only to certain people. All you'd have to do is make a role for those who are in the magical girl RP, and set it as 'private channel' when you create it.

Or, after creating it, right click it and pick 'edit channel' to change permissions based on role. In fact, you should be able to set it such that anyone can view the channel, but only people in the RP are able to post (set @everyone to be able to read messages but unable to send messages. Set RP-specific role to be able to send messages).

Up to you, of course.

Oh really? Well, discord is still surprising me with its features.

I'll probably do something like that then. Not sure if I'll figure that out tonight or another night.

I'd rather we have a separate Discord.

Well, just utilizing the existing discord is what I'm leaning towards to prefer, but I'd like to see what more people think so I'll probably wait until we at least have the game actually started before deciding what to do. Anybody else feel like weighing in?

I think I'd be more for creating a new simple server just for less all around confusion trying to set up things correctly in the old one.

I'm inclined to agree with Scorpio Rat on this one. I would rather have a separate server for this game than lumping it with the other one.

I just figured it would be more convenient to have it all in one place, but I'm willing to defer to the majority opinion. Anyway, I'm gonna look at new signup changes later, but while I'm here, figured I should go ahead and share my schedule for the coming week:

So, tomorrow, that is Sunday, I have off, and I have Monday off too. Tuesday is a long evening shift. Wednesday is an extra long evening shift. Thursday is an extra long early shift. Friday is a moderate evening shift. Next Saturday is a very short evening shift. Then next Sunday I have off.

Due to Thursday's shift, I do not think I will be able to get online and post at all Wednesday; the rest of the week should be okay, though I won't be able to hop on before any of those evening shifts so it's gonna be a week of me not getting online until late.

I'm fine with either, though having a separate server would help with potential overlap and confusion.

With ten accepted characters now I'm ready to plan for when the actual RP will be starting; given my schedule this week I'll be aiming for Saturday night.

There is one thing I'm still deciding on, realized I could go ahead and ask for opinions. Would you guys prefer the goddess giving your characters a bit of training first, or being sent right into the first mission because don't worry you're totally unprepared?

Hmmm. Well, I'd go with the latter. Not only is this the fate of literally all of time and space and there's not a lot of either to waste, but it will also be hilarious.

Did you figure out how to do the Discord yet, by the way?

Throwing them directly into the action after introduction seems like it'd be the most fun to play out.

@Truth Hurts 22: I have not messed with the discord yet; as I said before I was planning on figuring that out after getting the game properly started. Also because again, work schedule and stuff.

I'm okay with either way.

I prefer to meet the goddess first.

No, probably not quite that strong, I would say.

So we're talking about "limits of unenhanced human capability" strength here?

Edit: Meet with the goddess, but have the meeting be very rushed (vagueness optional). Also, I'd think separating the discords would be less messy.

Still more than what I was thinking; a dedicated weight lifting strong man, the kind who has made that basically the entire goal of their life, would still be stronger than you. Someone who is just generally well fit and trained, but not specifically going all out for it though, like a typical soldier as I said before, would be outclassed by you though.

Also the "rushed first meeting" was my idea for the "getting thrown in without training first" route.

Then, how will the girls know what their fancy skills and costumes would be, and how to use them? Brain uploading?

That was kinda the point, that you wouldn't know. You'd have to find out just by feeling.

Also another little update to signup that I don't think anybody was confused about but I feel like I should have clarified anyway just in case: You can only cast spells while in your magical form.

Anyway, while I'm posting, I've got my schedule for next week. Next week there's something special going on and we're expecting to be pretty busy, so everyone is scheduled more than normal, including me. What's good for me is that it's all evening shifts, though that means even more of me probably not really being online until almost everyone is already offline. As a reminder, I have a super short evening shift tomorrow, Saturday, then Sunday off. Monday is a moderate shift, which makes it the shortest of the week. Tuesday is a long shift. Wednesday and Thursday are both extra long shifts. Next Friday is a long shift. Next Saturday is another extra long shift. Next Sunday I have off.

Only Friday's shift starts late enough that normally I'd be able to hop on beforehand, but because of the rest of the week being filled up, that will basically be my only good time to go out to get something done, so I still won't be on until after work then.

I'm still planning on starting the game tomorrow night after work; it might be on the pretty late side though.
