So I've decided to board the manga ship for this one. I like the anime just fine, but from what I've read thus far it doesn't really add that much to the experience (unlike, say, the Kaguya anime). So it'll be quicker to just catch up right away.
So now I'm at chapter 14, which ends with the PHOTO OF DOOM. Seriously, series, you're good so far, don't go where I think you're going.
Still, it's nice that you can still kinda tell the girls apart even without the different hair.
◊ Then you can compare your guesses with the "answer"
◊ in the following page.
I guessed Miku and Itsuki right away, and Nino with a little effort. I mixed up Yotsuba and Ichika though. =[
Well thank god then. Speaking of which, I can get why the anime postponed the scene to a later episode. It's kinda forgotten about for a while.
So I'm at chapter 20 now, the midterm exams. Quintuplet tricks will never cease to be funny; and Fuutarou trying to immitate them just after was the icing on the cake.
Then again, we're talking about a teacher who didn't notice that Yotsuba's hairstyle and hair length mysteriously changed 4 times within a few minutes.
I was totally expecting that the five would barely pass and that the dad would then tell Fuutarou that he was joking about firing him. The exact opposite happened. And Nino saved the day of all people − without technically lying either.
Dammit I love these characters.
Chapter 27! Just before the bonfire…
Okay, who the hell kidnapped Nino and replaced her by Miku?? ò.Ô That took me off-guard. It's actually a bit ironic that one of the quintuplets fails to recognize someone just because they have different hair.
The UST intensifies it seems… though Miku and Ichika are the most obviously smitten right now. The "double dance" dilemma is a bit contrived, but I'm waiting to see how it'll be handled…
Most recent chapter: Alolan Aoyama is reminding me of Sawako right now.
Does anyone actually read these?Chapter 32 − flash forward! I didn't expect a chapter like that this early. Not sure how useful it was, since the author obviously hid any kind of hint as to the "winner"'s identity, but that last page was cool.
Going off her eyes, I'd say the bride is either Miku or Itsuki, but Miku was the first to confess that she loved Fuutarou, which is usually a big losing flag. I kinda hope I'm wrong.
PS: Snarky middle-school Raiha though…

I guess the closest thing to a clue would be Maeda's comment about how he and wife "too" got together thanks to the bonfire… or something. Just my two cents.
By the way, another thing I like is that even among the sisters, some are closer than others. For example, Nino and Itsuki are often hanging out together (and are both afraid of vaccines
) as the two "stubborn" ones, but you can still clearly feel that Itsuki is the "little sister" of the bunch. Same with Ichika and Miku to a lesser extent. It's all very clear and very subtle at the same time.
I'm at chapter 37 now. Only now do I realize that Yotsuba hadn't got any focus chapter before! And she's great − of course she is. So yeah, I'm now pretty sure the girl in the photo was either Ichika or Yotsuba. Unless one of the other three had a massive personality shift in 5 years.
…Everyone is constantly hiding from each other in this series, aren't they.
Loved the detective chapter by the way. Especially that blink-and-you'll-miss-it gag of Itsuki's Idiot Hair springing back up when she unties her hair. And Yotsuba's "without love you can't see it" joke (it probably wasn't an intentional shout-out, but I still chuckled). Also seems like the anime was faithful to the hair colors after all.

Something tells me that Futaro knows it's Ichika, given their talk earlier about lying.
Even so, I'm definitely disappointed. This leaves a pretty nasty taste in my mouth. It's definitely malicious, and it's not even a clever lie. It's desperate, ugly, and honestly kind of pathetic to watch.
I can't assume it's meant to make us feel sympathetic, either, because the conclusion she reached was basically "I don't want to try any harder, so I'll just knock the legs out from under everyone else".

It's been fun.I personally never hate a character, because they are at the whims of an author. If this is some half-assed way to kick Ichika out of the race, then I'll be pretty pissed. No, the fact that she was sort of a troublemaker when she was a kid or the fact that she say that she doesn't want anybody else to have Fuutarou foreshadowing, because she grew out of the former and the latter is a normal desire for anyone in love with someone else, and the fact that she felt guilty over trying to pursue a relationship with Fuutarou while knowing of her sister's feelings was a big dilemma for her. She wouldn't go to such an extreme tactic that would ruin the relationships between her and her sisters just for the sake of Fuutarou. I'll happily eat my own words if this somehow isn't Ichika going OOC and a fakeout, but otherwise I'll have nothing but bile to spit.

Yeah, I think he must be. He'd better have something in mind other than making weak attempts to make Futaro look bad in front of the girls, because they're far past that point.
It's been fun.
