Okay, well, I'm caught up on the latest chapter (68, I believe) and like I said in the anime thread, my Best Girl list is all over the place, but the ship I'm pulling for is still the same, and will be for life. Currently my rating stands at, um... hmm. Nino, Miku, Yotsuba, Itsuki, Ichika, though the degree of separation is very small on all of those and it's not like I dislike Ichika.
And of course, Everybody Wins is still the best ship.

It's been fun.I've read up through the bonfire, and I'm having a hard time deciding between Miku and Ichika. I will admit that my lizard brain has me disliking Itsuki because of how she keeps getting all the win flags despite the manga giving me the least reason to root for her out of all the sisters.
Does anyone actually read these?I just wanted to say that we apparently have a work page named Go-Toubun No Hanayome.
So can I talk about how stupid the scene in the present with the"childhood" friend was?
It's obviously Itsuki, as only she had long hair like that. There's Nino, but she hated the MC at that point in the story.
It annoys me because her relationship with the MC is one of the more underdeveloped ones.

A rose by any other name would smell as sweet Unless I grew it. In that case, throw it in the trash.Fair point, though upon further thought, who ever acted as Reina needed to know the MC was her childhood friend. The MC kept a picture of himself from back then in his student handbook, and Itsuki looked in it at the beginning of the story when she was looking for his address to bring him home after Nino drugged him. She could have easily seen it then.
A rose by any other name would smell as sweet Unless I grew it. In that case, throw it in the trash.I think the current evidence points to it being Itsuki, yes. Unless whichever of them it was actually remembers and recognized him despite the time gap and his completely different look and bearing, I think Itsuki is the only one who knew how much that affected him at the time since he told her. We know (spoilers for Seven Goodbyes) that it's not Nino, because she cries upon hearing the story from him, and it's likely not Yotsuba because she's bad at acting.
That said, I would guess that though it was one of them specifically (and if we get a single-wife ending, it's almost 100% certainly her), all of the sisters likely feel the same way, so in some ways it could be said to be all of them.
Also, can I just say that the end of the bonfire arc was some of the cutest shit I've ever seen? Also a masterful way to wrap it up - and even foreshadowed with the finger game they were playing in the car on the way to the lodge.

It's been fun. That's good. I respect Seven Seas for taking chances on manga that's more out-there, but I haven't seen enough of their work to say whether the translators they work with are the best choice for this manga.
I wonder if they'll keep the same kind of awkward stilted speech pattern for Itsuki that the fan translation uses. I get that she's the only one who still uses formal language with Fuutarou, but still.

It's been fun.Yeah, that's my thought too. Unless we're in for a second round of character focus arcs (which we certainly could be since they have another year of school left), I feel like Nino has blown her sprint too early, and Miku is flirting with doing the same. Of course, Itsuki's First Girl status gives her a formidable lead narratively.
If I had to call it right now, I would guess Itsuki or harem ending as of Chapter 68. It's a bit counterintuitive to say so, but I think Duck's instincts are correct. Harem ending still the best though.
It's been fun.I get where you're coming from, yeah. But given that the title of the manga is 'The Five Equal Brides' (or 'The Bride In Five Parts'), if we don't go for the harem ending, that's going to make the record books for the biggest lie in a manga title. It'll at least crack the top ten.

It's been fun.I've been seeing some interesting theories about that, actually. And they may be wishful thinking, but some of them are pretty convincing.
One thing that comes to mind is (I forget which chapter, but it's from a wedding scene past the midway point, possibly Seven Goodbyes) that there are multiple wedding dresses prepared for the bride to change into over the course of the night, an abnormal number that's commented on by the dressers. It could just be Papa Nakano showing off... or it could be that the sisters each want a turn as the bride. Of course, even if that is the case, we don't know if Fuutarou's in on it. As far as I know, it could be (ch. 60) a repeat of the "Who's Itsuki?" game.
...Relatedly, if I'm being overbearing or stifling the thread, please let me know. I'm sorry to talk so much.
It's been fun.Just finished volume one. While the physical copy of volume two comes out in March I'm tempted to buy the ebooks for volumes 2-5. Question: Is chapter five the start of Nino's arc? I've heard the manga had different arcs for each girl and I'm assuming each girl will get a mini arc to get them to open up to Futaro, similar to how chapters three and four did that for Miku. I've heard that Nino's pretty unlikable until her arc starts and while I personally do like her despite her attitude this volume, I'm curious to when that starts. Or am I wrong and Miku coming around isn't her arc/the start of her arc?
So, the design for book 8's cover is out and it's dropping a bunch of hints. I feel like a conspiracy theorist. Image here for reference
◊, no overt spoilers.
Nah. Someone over on the subreddit mentioned that they're looking forward to the next three volumes
, which implies that volume 7 also had one of the girls dressed as a bride.

I liked Nino before. Not everyone has to be nice for me to like them. It's somewhat refreshing to see someone who genuinely doesn't like the MC, and isn't just tsundering about it. It's one of those places where character development works well in this series.
Also liked Miku from pretty much the start. Come to think of it, my first or almost first impressions of them still hold. I usually don't switch opinions on characters. I'm stubborn like that.

From MAL:
Five girls who want to do anything but study, and their tutor: a high school boy who's got book smarts and not much else. Fuutarou Uesugi took the tutoring gig because he was desperate for cash, but when his students—the five beautiful daughters of a wealthy businessman—find five times the excuses to slack off, what can he do?! At this rate, the sisters won’t graduate, so if he wants to get paid, Fuutarou must think of a plan to suit each of them… Which feels hopeless when five out of five of them think he's a loser!
