I was reading the Norse Mythology page, and I was wondering if in addition to the Referenced By page, there could be a page for works that are based on/retellings of Norse Mythology? Such as Marvel's Thor, obviously, but also Joanne Harris' Runemarks and Neil Gaiman's American Gods and Norse Mythology. Something similar could be added to the Classical Mythology page including works like Circe.

At the moment, we have many tropes for "this work references a previous work", ranging from an oblique reference (generally listed as Shout-Out), to imitating the core elements of the work with few exceptions (generally listed as Whole-Plot Reference or Recycled In Space), to just telling the same story again with different words (generally listed as The Remake).

The reverse of this, "this work is referenced by future works", is always considered a trivia-trope, and we have fewer examples of that. Follow the Leader is one. Referenced by... is the broadest example of "this work is referenced by future works".

I was thinking of something kind of like on the Fairy Tale pages (like Beauty and the Beast) where adaptations directly based on the original story are listed. That seems a bit different to me than Whole-Plot Reference? And a lot of works based in mythologies aren't Recycled In Space (although some certainly are). For instance Diana Wynne Jones' Eight Days of Luke, which like American Gods has the events of the myths happening at some point in the past, and then a new adventure with those characters happening in the present.

If that does qualify as Whole-Plot Reference or Referenced by..., then maybe I could just create a Trivia page where related works are listed under that trope?
