Ezekiel gets a little confused when Melvin calls for the rest of the crew, not to mention he's a little tired of having to move above deck and below deck and above deck like it's some kind of military exercise. Not that he's participated in any, it's just what he's seen...it's funny seeing freshfoooting runts get winded as they scour the ship from bow to stern and up and down, but it's not fun doing it yourself. Especially when your back could throw out at any moment...not that he's lost any sense of spryness from his youth, but it's a valid concern.
Moving back up the stairs, Ezekiel takes a spot beside Klamptrap, eyeing the living chest with a grumble before focusing his attention on Melvin and Duane.
Klamptrap takes notice of Ezekiel apparently grumbling at him for some reason, and he speaks to himself quietly enough that only those sitting right next to him can hear before turned his attention back to Melvin.
Klamptrap: What's with that guy? He's acting like I'm some ex-lover of his or something!
The League of HeroesOnce he is satisfied with the crew gathered on the deck, Melvin speaks.
"Alright. I've gathered you here for a little trust building exercise. I want each and every one of you to tell us about your past. Believe me, I'm not so comfortable with telling my story, but my brilliant cousin Duane and I figure that if we all do it together, it'll be less stressful for all of us. Then we can get to know each other."
"So... anyone want to go first?"
Very good kittyVictor thinks for a moment. This crew was all he had left; he had to trust them. If there was a time to come clean, it was now... and since this wasn't strictly about him, maybe it wouldn't be so bad. In fact, it might be better to get it over with...
"M-me," he says. "I can go first, Captain... I feel like I owe everyone some answers..."
Tbh I never really hated his minigames in the original, but they did make them better in the remake."Well..." Victor takes a deep breath. Still not feeling brave enough to make eye contact with the others, he looks down. "You're probably wondering why I was running away. The truth is... I had to flee my hometown the other day because the authorities are after me. They... they think I murdered my friend."
He pauses for a moment, in case the others have something to say in response.
Tbh I never really hated his minigames in the original, but they did make them better in the remake."Oh my. What... what happened to your friend?"
Melvin is trying to choose his words carefully. He is pretty certain that Victor isn't a murderer, but he wants to know more.
Very good kitty"He was strangled... in his room," says Victor. "I don't know what happened... but I was the only other person in the house at the time, and there was no sign of anyone breaking in, so they suspected me. His family has a lot of influence, so the case wasn't going to be treated lightly."
He pauses again for a moment and takes a deep breath before continuing.
"When they came to arrest me, I panicked. I managed to get away, and I've been on the run for a couple of days now, but they found me again in town today. I ran until I ended up in the harbor... and, well, here I am," he finishes.
Tbh I never really hated his minigames in the original, but they did make them better in the remake.Wow, that's terrible. (Ira says to Victor.) I can kind of relate to what you're going through since I'm on the run from my own village, too. Of course, it's mostly for different reasons, but you know what I mean.
"Hey, least I didn't lose all my artistic talent when I crash landed in the arena here."Oh, me? (Ira asks Duane. There's a hint of hesitation in Ira's voice.) Well...uh...so I'm from Scale Cove where Cleo and everyone with her is from. I used to be important there, but then I made a huge mistake and it ultimately lead up to me going on the run like this. Okay, that's good, who's next?
(It's very obvious that Ira's not sharing all of the details of his story.)
"Hey, least I didn't lose all my artistic talent when I crash landed in the arena here."(Ira looks a bit nervous as he looks around at everyone else before answering Duane.) Well...okay, I was the chief over Scale Cove before Cleo was. I sorta...broke an important rule a chief is supposed to follow and ended up having to step down as chief once people found out. Me breaking the rule isn't why I'm on the run and they're after me, though. They're after me because they know I'm after the Legendary Egg and don't want me to use it.
"Hey, least I didn't lose all my artistic talent when I crash landed in the arena here.""Aw, Ira," says Melvin. "I think I know how that feels. To have everyone be scared of you, I mean. That's awful."
Very good kittyThe chest turns to the dragon as he spoke, his voice having hints of sadness in it towards the end.
Klamptrap: Don't want you to use the egg huh? Guess they fear your wish would break the norm for your place or something. And breaking an important rule like that, if my captain was still around I'd have a feeling he'd sympathize with you.
The League of HeroesThe chest moves forward, making a sound like he's clearing his throat or something.
Klamptrap: Guess I can go next I reckon. First things first, might as well bring up my Captain Barvon. Perhaps you've heard of him?
The League of HeroesTom has yet to make any comment, still steering the ship. Eventually, he breaks his silence as he leans over the wheel and interrupts the discussion to call out to Melvin.
"Captain? Rain clouds ahead, should I go through them or around? The wind will keep us in them for a fair bit."
I need to update these things more often"Oh! Uh, just continue straight, Tom. You're doing great."
"Oh yeah, I've heard of him. Ol' Flamebeard used to growl about him a lot. That salty... jerk must have been jealous or something." Melvin laughs mirthlessly.
Very good kitty

Gabrielle's head perks up once she hears Melvin's order, rushing to the top deck.
Hey how you doing well I'm doing just fine I lied I'm dying inside
