Unfortunate Implications examples require specific citations. However, many tropers have difficulties distinguishing if a citation fits the criteria needed. That is where this thread thread comes into play.
Confused about whether a citation is legit enough? Ask here then.
07/24/2022 Update: Per this TRS thread
, Unfortunate Implications is now Flame Bait, so wicks on non-Flame Bait pages need to be either removed or moved to Unfortunate Implications subpages; the cleanup work has been deferred to this thread.

Hello. I was looking to add Unfortunate Implications to the Kingdom Hearts YMMV for its rather infamous poor treatment of its female characters. I'm wondering if these would count as reputable sources?
SuperJump at medium.com
, GameSkinny
, Kingdom Hearts Union/Ultimania
.
I have a more reliable source (Polygon) to do an entry, but am wondering if these are worth including as well.

I'm surprised nobody had added an Unfortunate Implications entry there yet.
If you gonna do it, write it from an observer point of view rather than a fan's or it's going to sound very complain-y.

I recommend including all three of the links to prove this isn't just one blogger.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.I'm honestly surprised that people think Kingdom Hearts is sexist.

How's your day been?Unfortunate Implications doesn't mean "this series is as a whole pushing sexism." It can just mean "this specific moment or plot has uncomfortable, unintentional undertones."

- Unfortunate Implications: This
recap
points the issues of the only woman being there against her will, and the only black guy having zero lines even when he's being talked to.
Only evidence is a single random blog, delete?
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.- Accidental Innuendo: There is, of course, the infamous "OH YES, DADDY!"; which was a perfectly innocent line at the time the episode it's from came out but became an Accidental Innuendo when the phrase "daddy" became a sexual meme on the internet.
- And if that wasn't enough, the narration afterwards, which could lead to some Unfortunate Implications if taken out of context:
Narrator: Caillou loves spending time with his daddy like this. Just the two of them together.
If anything, that would be Have a Gay Old Time, but... yuck. Has that interpretation gained any traction outside of the sleezy corners of the internet?
I've heard "Daddy" was actually slang for "boyfriend" as far back as the roaring '20s, but in the mainstream today it still means "father" to most people whose brains aren't fetish-poisoned to the degree they project daddy kinks onto four year olds.
Really strange. Tho to be fair, Caillou's YMMV page is abit weird. Alot of it talks about how Caillou's Mom "left" him with a stranger (as someone who's a big Caillou fan, I've never seen an episode like that. I guess they're talking about "Caillou Is Not Afraid Anymore," where Caillou is scared of Mr. Hinkle, but in that episode, its stated that Caillou's Mom knows about Mr. Hinkle, and plus, she never leaves Caillou alone with Mr. Hinkle so... yeah).
is that what really happened? Then that pretty much invalidates every entry about that episode I brought up in the complaining thread.
Also, I’m shocked to find someone who likes Caillou. Everyone I know doesn’t like it. I’d also imagine the reaction you get from people when you say you like it. Not saying you’re bad or anything, just that its really surprising.

Yeah. I've seen the episode many times and I know what happens.
Yes, I indeed like the show. I like the later seasons (seasons 3, 4, and 5) the most (tho I also like to watch seasons 1 and 2). So far, I haven't gotten a rabid hater attacking me yet, but that'll probably happen someday. Also, do you think we should remove the Awesome Moments page? That page is filled with people powerleveling.

We should probably move this somewhere else, since we're derailing from talking about UI entries.
And to answer your question about the Awesome page, there's only two examples and its gushing about the kid being punished.

Unfortunate Implications: As mentioned under Squick, May looks like Mary Jane Watson and Mary looks like Gwen Stacy. The writers and artists somehow seemed to miss the massive oedipus complex they gave Peter. Even worse, the editors at Marvel at one point considered making this backstory canonical to the main Marvel universe.
Is there any legit citation here? The fact it was once considered as a legit backstory suggests it wasn't unfortunate either, but deliberate.

I could stand to remove the bit about Sia attacking the autistic actors who criticized the casting choice, but I think that Maddie crying is relevant since it shows that even she was aware of the implications and worried about how it would make her look.
