The concept I'm working on involves the Anthropomorphic Personification of different elements or ideals (Hate, love, war, wicker weaving, etc.) choosing an individual to fight as their Avatars. They have a set of rules to follow (like Lantern Rings). Here's what I have so far:
Avatars are chosen to represent an abstract entity and are given a portion of their power, as opposed to the entities taking action themselves.
Cosmic Entities can have as many avatars as they wish, but only one can represent them for the entire Multiverse. If more avatars are chosen, they will each receive less power.
Potential avatars cannot supersede Champions unless the Entity allows it. If the True Avatar dies, the Entity can choose a potential as a replacement or kill a potential to resurrect the True Avatar.
True Avatars can only be selected by that specific entity who wants them.
Avatars can be removed from their position if the entity chooses to.
Potential avatars must be those who are born with great potential power and their free will intact.
Once an individual is chosen, they cannot escape that role and must perform their appointed tasks. One is not required to know he/she was chosen or why.
Entities can have sub-entities who work for them and can choose worthy avatars.
Avatars may have mental defect episodes when facing an opposing avatar or physical pain when in an area conquered by an opposing entity.
If an Avatar destroys an opposing entity, the entity's presence and effect in that universe is removed until a replacement is found or until the universe restarts.
Avatars cannot bring harm to the entity that chose them under ANY circumstance. This can only be broken by using the power of another entity.
Entities can transport their avatars to their own realms at any moment of their choosing.
Entities can put avatars through trials if the Avatar isn't performing their duties.
Champions and avatars can lose power if the go against their entities' will.
