It's not only Epic, I'm also annoyed with Private Division for doing this kind of thing in the first place. Epic's poaching of games and making them exclusives or timed exclusives is scummy in and of itself, but it takes two to tango.
So I'll pass on this game. I still have a pretty big backlog of games to work through anyway, and I'd rather not give my money to greedy publishers.
Finished the first planet.
Man, this is amazingly fun and the Capitalism Is Bad message is interesting as it's gone from "Mister House is a autocratic genius but would lead to a Golden Age" to "This is what capitalism in space is like under Trump." Fuck, Handsome Jack would have done a better job.

Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.Yeah, the Board guys aren't as charismatic as House, at least not the ones i've met so far.
That's not to say i dislike them as characters, just that House's charisma is what made me want to side with him in my first playthrough of New Vegas. Plus the fact that he was portrayed as competent and almost as smart as he think he is.
There's also a very much Science Is Good message that applies to certain issues in the current administration. Mind you, there's an old play called "Enemy of the People" (that helped inspire Jaws) that had the same basic premise.
"No matter how much it is more profitable to say science is wrong, the facts are the same no matter what and PEOPLE ARE GOING TO DIE."
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters. This game has it all. Excellent gameplay, excellent story and characters, good commentary and not afraid telling things like it is. And is bugless...
Sadly I have absolutely no means atm to play it. PC's shit and no consoles, nothing.
I'mma wait for Patolog TV if he's interested to do a walkthrough and watch him (god do I love his walkthroughs)
x3: It's probably important to keep in mind, my character never engages in combat — so my view of the systems might be a little weird. But a problem with the flaws is that, for the most part, I don't think perks are tempting enough. Obviously for my build most are irrelevant — I don't really need increased damage, health, etc. — but I think most people will have similar experiences. There's nothing really as characterful or build-defining as some of Fallout's weirder perks either; they're very to the point.
And if you're not tempted to get perks, well, you don't have much reason to accept flaws. And the flaws can be quite dramatic in comparison. Which is shame, as they might be an interesting idea in principle.
You do not have to get it on the Epic Games store even for PC, its available on the Microsoft Store.
But as for differences between the PS 4 and PC version, I have heard very little aside from the PC version obviously has more settings.
re: Flaw system
I've found it meh. The flaws seem to run the gammut from "A perk isn't worth that" note to "So situational they are irrelevant so why wouldn't you take what is essentially a free perk?" note
The fact they are all priced equally, and that they all boil down to stat decreases also makes them rather... uninteresting.

I picked this up yesterday thanks to Jim Sterling's recommendation. I haven't had an Xbox Game Pass for PC before, so it cost me all of $1.
So far I'm really liking it. It has the feel of a Fallout game with the corporate cynicism of Bioshock and the aesthetic of Firefly. Speaking of the latter, I had to laugh that the first two party members you pick up for your independent space freighter are a female engineer and a male priest. Could they be any less subtle?
I'm through Edgewater and the first Groundbreaker segment, about to head to Roseway. Although I started the quest, I'm holding off on trying to collect the bounty on my scientist friend, working on a "best ending" for everyone I meet. Going for an Int/Charisma build where I talk my way through everything, although so far I haven't had any real problem with combat.
Is it a coincidence that your first and most prominent matchmaking opportunity in the game is an asexual lesbian? I don't mind; Parvati is adorable. I just wonder if there are people who'll get offended by it.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Well, I'm all wrapped up now. And I can confirm for any hypothetical curious that you can, pretty easily, beat the game without actually shooting or hitting someone. There are two sidequests that to my knowledge I wouldn't be able to complete: Situation Vital, and one companion quest (alas, poor Nyoka). The SubLight faction quest is theoretically doable, but I couldn't find a way through without breaking stealth; it's definitely doable if you don't count killing some bugs with a terminal against you.
That aside, overall I got a pretty happy ending. Edgewater was maybe the exception; Adelaide kicked anyone supportive of the corporations or Reed out, and Reed died out in the wastes. Don't know how leaving Reed in charge would fare. For everyone else things worked out pretty swimmingly, however; co-operation on Monarch definitely turned out for the best, both for everyone on and off the planet.
Admittedly, while my hands were kept technically clean, Monarch was the source of an indirect kill; when you go to oust Graham he refuses to stand down, and Zora shoots him. You could technically skip that, I think, and just go on with the main quest without resolving Monarch's questline. I don't know how that would turn out, if that has a special ending in the epilogue.
Well, before I retire this character/save, if anyone's curious I took a little beginning and ending snapshot
of what the character looked like. Because if I'm going to spend ten minutes in the character creator and never see myself, may as well get some souvenirs out of it. I think I already showed off the starter image, but hey. I might give the game a break for a bit, and then probably I'll kill everyone on sight next time I revisit the game and see how that plays out. I refuse to believe in a middle ground.

Huh, I wasn't planning on buying this at launch so I wasn't aware, but apparently it's not coming out on Steam until next year due to Epic BS. Whelp, guess I'm giving this game a hard pass.
