So is there an appropriate trope, preferably YMMV, that sums up the review bombing this game is getting because angry white people are mad that Jax's arcade ladder ending has him go back in time and end the Atlantic slave trade industry? A lot of people think NR is pushing an agenda.

I don't think we trope controversies that are frankly quite silly. At best you can add a Broken Base entry.

However, new works require a 6 month waiting period to add fandom reaction tropes so i don't think you can quite add that yet

When I typed in MK on my ipad a mews article pops up titled "Jax's Ending in Mortal Kombat 11 is getting some disappointing backlash" that I can't read because the damn app won't show it (okay now its showing).

Is that what that's about, really? What black person wouldn't want to avert slavery? I'm a Cuban, pretty sure one of the first things I'd do is avert communism & ergo the Castro's taking over C Uba. Fucking Hell some people. (Shakes head disappointingly)

He has an intro where Frost thinks he should have been grandmaster instead of Sub, only for him to retort that he wouldn't allow female Lin Kuei, prompting Frost to say that he is even worse than Kuai Liang.

So let your imagination run wild. Helps that he is a total edgelord, though Frost surprisingly keeps up with him

When Sub Zero is the least edgelordy frost ninja on a roster of three you know the other two are working overtime to prove their "Rep"

Is killing Mileena a case of Bury Your Gays?

Just wondering. I know, kind of a silly question.

The whole Bi-Han was always a complete asshole just comes off like them really trying to justify Scorpion killing him... so Scorpion doesn't look like he's a revenge obsessed moron

then again MK 1 is weird, The entire Lin Kuei are basically bought out by Shang to fight for his side

Not that I'd be surprised to hear Mileena was popular with the ladies too (dat tongue) but I do not know if there is any official material that states it.

Defending team can't use outside help, but I guess the rules don't state anything about the attackers doing so. Outworld is giant mishmash of realms anyways.

I think she was at least partially confirmed to be Bisexual. Her relationship with Tanya was definitely not just platonic.

As noted on that article the trope usually doesn't apply to Anyone Can Die settings, and by nature of being Mortal Kombat I feel like Mileena would be exempt from the trope.

Besides, she's probably "sadist no one will feel sorry for" first and foremost if there's any character traits that made her expendable. Sexuality isn't really a factor there.

I legit think everyone loves Mileena because her face wasn't Uncanny Valley in 9.

Let's face it. She was the only female whose face actually didn't look weird. Funny i know.

Man way too many people are thirsty for Mileena.

And this isn't a slight against her, I mean that in a general "fans are way too upset that their favorite character isn't in."

I absolutely love Mileena. Everything about her. She's played mainly as psycho, and that's fun. I'd kill for sympathetic character development too, but she's entertaining either way. And yeah I think she's sexy AF. The But Your Wings Are Beautiful fanfic writes itself I'm sure.

I'm sad she and Reptile aren't in, but she's way too iconic a kharacter to be retired permanently. She'll be back eventually.

Learning she's possibly bi just sweetens the deal.

In general i'm surprised the number of Ninjas is so low in the game.

We are always guaranteed two so it's strange that the other one besides Scorpion and Sub was Noob. I mean, i take Noob over Rain any day, but strange not even Reptile couldn't return.

Erron Black is kind of a really weird offshoot of the ninjas.
