I mentioned Do A in response to what Soble was saying. And even before that they didn't have much of a Tournament scene.
Singling that out just seems silly. Especially since i didn't notice any difference there.

Some think Women in business suits are sexy and men in uniform.
Call me nuts but I'd still rather just put more Johnny Cage's on the roster to balance out the fanservice than put more business suited characters/characters who look like they could actually exist outside of a movie poster.
Like half the fun of Mortal Kombat's design to me is the mix between the less than modest superhero bodies and the utter freaks of nature.

Growing up, it's like a civil war, don't turn away, it's something you can't ignore...Now that you mention it, he does look a bit more Johnny Gat than Johnny Cage.
I was going to say Gat would make a good guest character, and then I realized I have no idea how to make him significantly different from Cage, so can we just have Daniel Dae Kim voice a Cage skin instead, like we did for Carl Weathers and Jax last time?
(4) Yeah, I reread that.
I don't mean to argue what is/what isn't considered sexual, or give platform to how the designs look wrong because x and y, but I was specifically, or meant to address whether being less sexy/toning down sexuality improves fighting game sales. I'm yet convinced that it actually does and the possibility bothers me.
That said, I don't think they put someone in a business suit or more conservative clothing with the intention of sex appeal. We're talking about toning down the sex appeal. We're assuming that business suits and business casual tone it down significantly and that this is definitely improving sales.
So unless there's a large market of business suit fetishists out there most video games have yet to tap into I doubt going for "sexy in uniform" is a wise business decision.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Johnny Gat Vs Johnny Cage fight.
For the record, Gat has been in a fighter before.
You are not alone....Johnny could be a decent Guest Fighter actually.
- He's "Earth's most puissant warrior."
- He's real good at tuning people up, but also gets impaled with a sword in SR 2
- Additionally, Saints Row is all about it's heroes being fallible, so seeing Johnny getting murdered wouldn't bother me all that much, unlike Bayonetta or Dante
- He wouldn't be out place fighting demons/aliens/ninjas from another dimension
- Imagine killing someone with the Dildo Bat.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Okay I've actually compared Sonya's X & 11 look annnnnnnd......... I see no discernable difference.
At most the graphical improvments makes her clothes look tighter but that's it really.
Barring that she's more aged she looks the same for the most part.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I love that once again there's an intro with Sub-Zero correcting people that call him a Ninja, this time with Cassie.
Yeah, i'm really not seeing any Major difference either.
×8 Didn't say anything about characters wearing suits in the game, just that using that as an example that less skimpy doesn't necessarily mean less sexy.
That said, King from Art of Fighting wears a suit and she's still considered hot. So it's not like we haven't seen it in video games before.
Wouldn't Gat be more guns/street brawler oriented?
They could also have him use the unique Saints Row weapons.

Ed Boon is asking the Twitterverse a peculiar question:
Would we prefer...
- Horror Movie Fighters
- Marvel vs DC
- or Mortal Kombat vs. Street Fighter?
He's insisting it's just for fun, but he’s the king of trolling creators, so...
I feel like X had enough horror movie fighters. I want something different, and Marvel v. DC has never really been done before in video game form.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Fighting gamers who are also nerds have wanted Marvel vs DC for decades. Decades. Ever since X-Men vs Street Fighter.
I wouldn't want Netherrealm to do it, mind.
That said, I wouldn't mind an MK vs Street Fighter game at all. When all is said and done, the two games aren't all that different: the way they handle combos (and even then, mainly in the sense that MK's normal combos are all target combos) and juggles and launches and pokes are different, but the speed of the game, the way specials and supers function, etc, are all very comparable. You could put Mortal Kombat characters in a SF game with very few modifications and have them fit pretty well, and vice versa.
Though, again, I wouldn't want Netherrealm to do it.

My concern with Marvel vs. DC and Mortal Mombat vs. Street Fighter are that Disney and Capcom would have so much leverage over NRS that I’d be worried they would resemble Marvel vs. Capcom and Street Fighter too much from a gameplay perspective.
NRS making a horror Dream Match Game though? I’m all in for that.
I’m the opposite. I ONLY want Netherrealm to do it. I wouldn’t be buying it if it was anyone else.

I'd want Netherrealm to do it. The pre-fight banter would be a-ma-zing.
I'm imagining Captain Marvel and Shazam bickering over Shazam having to change his name.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Voted for a Mortal Kombat vs. Street Fighter. I think it should play like the standard Capcom-inspired fighting game, where it's down, down-forward, forward + punch for projectiles as one example.
As for violence, it will have to be toned down if it means getting Capcom executives to agree but I believe some X-Ray combos and Fatalities can be used but in the standard display of Gameplay and Story Segregation.
Lastly, it has to be like the crossovers with Marvel in which a character, whether this franchise or Street Fighter, has three Hyper Combos with one requiring three levels of the Hyper Meter filled up. As an example, here's how Scorpion's Hyper Combos would be:
1. One Hyper Combo is Toasty, though rather than a giant flame breath, it's a fiery-based Kamehame Hadouken.
2. Another is a combination of his respective X-Ray moves from 9 and X, where Scorpion teleports downward and reappears upward while doing an uppercut that propels the opponent into the air followed by a Spear that forcibly lands the opponent into the ground, ending with a Flaming Backflip Kick.
3. Level 3: Fiery Gates fatality from 9 where Scorpion fires Spear at the opponent, conjures up a fiery portal, pulls impaled opponent into the fiery portal, and it ends with another portal appearing at the top and depending on how much health the opponent has, the opponent will just land into the ground as a fireball or be strung up but not as a charred corpse.

But you mentioned games like Dead or Alive not getting spots at tournaments. Dead or Alive and the schadenfreude with EVO just happens to be the most prominent and fresh example.
EDIT: Pagetopper, oh well. Yeah, no caps this time.
