They're made for all Marvel fans, so there will be something for everyone
It's hard not to take a little bit of offense to that, as I did say:
I respectfully acknowledge how curt I was being, and that this game does invite variety.
Yes. Yes it is.

YESH
GWENPOOL PLEZ
And She-Hulk. And War Machine. And Moon Knight. And Shang Chi. And Domino. And Amadeus Cho. And and and-
There are a lot of Marvel Characters I want to see. Which is kinda nice, because no matter who they add I'll probably be happy; it's not like the list of Marvel characters I don't want to see is particularly large.
It's good to see Supergiant in the fray after she got snubbed in Infinity War.

So how piss would people be if Link & Samus were announce for this game like they were originally plan back all the way in Ultimate Alliance 1?
Pissed? I think a lot of people would be ecstatic about it, since Link and Spider-Man hanging out in the same game is the stuff dreams are made of.
Whether it does or doesn't happen, though, Ultimate Alliance 3 being a Switch exclusive is funny to me for that exact reason. Not that I mind, though! Super excited for this, I'm not a big Marvel fan but I vaguely remember having fun with the original game when I was a kid. Don't think I got far in it (wanna say I made it to Arcade's level before I stopped?) but it was a heckin' fun romp for sure.
Add Bayonetta in there to see how Team Ninja would interpret her moves.
and William Adams if any of the Japanese pantheon from Marvel makes it in.
The anti-guest character people would be annoyed, but nobody cares what they think.
I like to give people the benefit of the doubt but I'm not going to fall for that again.
& IF I'm being frank, I would love to have 2 of my character of all time to fight along side with each other.
I can't see her making it in, but I would be more than ok with her inclusion
Which is why I brought that up

Normally when an awesome crossover like that happens my inner fanfic writer starts speculating about what happens when characters from one world land in another and what sort of impact it would have on everyone involved but the Marvel world is so insane that the arrival of a elfin swordsman destined to slay evil and a high-tech bioboosted bounty hunter would change literally nothing.

One can assume all the leads from Spider-Verse may appear, not just Gwen & Miles.
Noir would be a pretty sight if they keep in his black & white shader giving him a unique visual & Peni Parker’s Sp//der would be fun as Hell to play as.
And there’s no reason to not have Spider-Ham really.
Nintendo character or not, if there really is going to be guest characters I really hope they're part of the story.
There's no real reason why Noir, Miles, & Gwen can't be Spidey's costume. Spider-Ham & SP//dr has too much differences in their body portion to be alternate outfits. I doubt people would be ok with Noir, Ham, & Peni being separate characters before they will with Gwen & Miles
Well Miles actually has different powers and is shorter. And Gwen is a woman isn't that a different body/model you have to create?
Fun fact about Gwen, something I just found out yesterday after reading her page here (I should really get back into Spider-Gwen) is that major spoilers here of course, unlike literally every single Spider-person EVA she has found a way to permanently coexist with her own version of the Venom symbiote. She is in now complete control of the symbiote and she only turns all Venomy for intimidation purposes meaning technically she still is Gwenom.
So they can easily do something with that for her.

Which is why I said "I doubt people would be ok with Noir, Ham, & Peni being separate characters before they will with Gwen & Miles."
Miles is notably shorter but not that much shorter which Marvel never really seems to care despite what his official height is compare to Peter. Not that they can't just make Miles taller. Amusingly enough he's supposed to taller than Ultimate Peter.
Smash Bros already proves that having 2 different gender bodies doesn't mean they can't share the moveset. Gwen didn't do anything too different with her symbiote but it'll still be disappointing if they didn't include her mini spiders & tongue scarf thing, although I guess that was more when she's black & blue then she was pink & white.
It’s weird because Smash is the only fighter that does that . Then again it tries to matching the bodies as close as possible. Seeing Gwen with same type as body they Peter has in this game would be hilarious
Eddie: We are kinda in envy over ya, Gwennie. Gwen: We? You two still living in the 90's?
Now is the time for Howard the Duck.
Actually Tekken proved that long before Smash Bros did. And technically, so did Soul Calibur
Was Howard in Marvel Heroes? Then he really should be in this game
EDIT: Just checked, no he is not, bring in the duck

Miles and Gwen have been separate characters from Peter in games before and past Ultimate Alliance games had several characters with similar powers.
Though like others have said, Miles does have abilities unique to him.
Here I figured they would do what the old games sometimes did. Have four Spider-people and give them a team bonus when they work together. Finding out which teams got stat boosts was half the fun, like Spidey, Deadpool, Human Torch, and Iceman getting a team bonus called “Shut up already!”
