Well it is. At least for me. If it wasn't fun, why would it be good?
Doctor Who — Long Way Around: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13536044/1/Doctor-Who-Long-Way-AroundA game can be good but not fun.
I can't stand Breath of the Wild. But I recognize that it's a good game. It just has a few features that deeply annoy me on a personal level, but I recognize it's a matter of taste, not of the game's quality.
Ah.
Well, whatever. For me, MUA 3 is both good and fun, even if it's not for everyone. Solid 7.5 out of ten.

Doctor Who — Long Way Around: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13536044/1/Doctor-Who-Long-Way-AroundIn this day & age, it seems good is the only acceptable outcome.
I'm pretty tired of this mindset when it comes to the people.
Well that’s cause being good means you are good.
If you are not good then you areeither bad or mediocre....... wait there’s no difference there,
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Not sure if releasing a week before FE Three Houses was a good idea or not.
Mileena MadnessSure there is.
Mediocrity implies not being So Bad, It's Good.

SoundCloudThat reminds me of a saying I came up with some time ago;
"If something is So Bad, It's Good, then it's good. If something is so mediocre that it's worse than being bad, then it's bad."
The storm has now resided, the wolf now rests.Like I said it's a 7/7.5-8 kind of game. Aside from character customization it's not very complex, and that's totally fine. The writing is fun, experimenting with characters is fun, and it's fun to get a rhythm going. It's good, semi-dumb fun.
@Miz: Well, it's apparently selling decently.

Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectI don't even get this logic. The games are different genres entirely. And not out on the same week? What's the plan, they should release a week where nothing comes out 2 weeks before or after?
It's mostly a sales thing.
But I agree, both Marvel and Fire Emblem are very popular and cover different specific niches. Even if one does preform better than the other financially, no way neither are not going to sale well.
The storm has now resided, the wolf now rests. It's pretty well up there on the eShop and Amazon if that means anything (a Playstation gift card isn't really a 'game' per se so we can assume that MUA is the top selling game, basically).
Fire Emblem is only slightly behind though.

Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectClose to 10000 sales in Japan according to Famatsu.
Mileena Madness10 thousand sales in Japan? That's a flop.
Heck, that's a flop most places.
Edited by Ghilz on Jul 24th 2019 at 1:12:49 PM
Could be worse. One guy pointed out the first one only sold 3.3 in Japan.
Mileena MadnessHow do you sell 0.3 of a game?
Do you just buy the DL Cs sans the base game, or does it mean the game is 1/3 of the price.

Guessing that is why there isn't a Japanese Dub. Hope US sales are better...
Mileena MadnessGot it and played for a few hours. It's alright.
Gotta admit I'm really disappointed by the combos, or lack thereof. Forget approaching Team Ninja level of combat, it doesn't even reach Dynasty Warriors' accessible-but-effective levels. It's just light attack heavy attack. Yeesh.
It's also lacking some serious quality-of-life basics, like retaining your levels and skill points spent after you die. Have had to power up my basic attacks several times now.
So far I've found the most effective character is Black Widow; depleting the "Stagger" meter is super important and her heavy attack is quick and effective in that regard. There's probably ones that are even better at it but I haven't experimented enough.
Bleye knows Sabers. At least the enemies don't button read and constantly dodge and block your moves mid-combo?
"I'll show you fear, there is no hell, only darkness." My twitterI've never played any of the MUA games, but I did play X-Men Legends. Is this less complex than that?
I only played an hour of this game but I don't think this game is better than Legends 1. So far it's too simplified. You can't even do any of the button combination back in the day.
But again I only played an hour of the game.
@Ghilz: Heh. He means 3,300 copies. This series was never a strong seller in Japan, so this is, in fact, the best it's ever done there (I believe one of the games didn't even release there).
I guess Nintendo just decided not to spend too much on advertising in contrast to the west.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectSo what's the overall verdict on this game?
Good? Great? Below average?
A festering boil on the ass of humanity?
One Strip! One Strip!Aaaah. Geez using units is important when giving numbers. Thanks
It's okay. Simply Okay.
Oh, I'll say that there's small moment where the writing and direction goes from "Simpleton" to "Genius" so fast you get whiplash.
There's a fight at one point against ninjas in a corridor, the camera will change so you only see your characters and the ninjas' silhouette in black over paper doors. This gives the whole segment a feel straight out of old kung fu movies, like the Bride fighting the crazy 88. This segment is made out better by daredevil saying how he does his best fight scenes in corridors - clear nod to the famous corridor fight scene in Netflix' Daredevil.
90% of the game's plot is just this lame linear thing, then the game for like 20 seconds suddenly turns into pure genius, before again returning to boring Marvel Ultimate Alliance-type plot.
Same thing happens later when Magneto shows up. Suddenly the plot gets engaging for a few seconds. It's like the writer's medication just kicked in?
