If we had an image of Ridley beating on Samus, then it might work. Thought?
That would be more illustrative than the current, but I'd be more inclined to just leave the page without a pic if we can't come up with anything.
Pull for being JAFAAC.
Current is Just a Space Dragon and a Caption. OP's suggestion could work.
I found images of Ridley beating up Samus: ◊
I lean to 1 or 2, but the page says Proteus Ridley doesn't count since he's the Final Boss which is expected to be hard. But I've seen Final Bosses added if they're unexpectedly difficult even by those standards. Is Proteus Ridley unexpectedly hard enough to count (he was unexpected within the context of the story and far more powerful than normal bosses, but not through "cheap" methods)?
Any thoughts or similar images come to mind.
Ridley wall grinding you and then blasts you into bits.
Or this from Super Metroid.
Ridley breathing fire and trying to stab you at the same time.

I thought the That One Boss pages were BUPKIS'd a while ago?
Well, people are suggesting images, so let's see how it plays out.
Not sure if I'm feeling it, but this◊ would be a better quality version of the Super Metroid suggestion.
At native resolution:
That'll get the idea across. Even better, it's not a cutscene that artificially shows how insanely hard Ridley is.
As for caption, how about this?
They don't call him the Cunning God of Death for nothing.
Or perhaps we can retain the original caption quote.

I agree with the image suggestion in and prefer the caption in over the current. The current caption is kind of bland, and the suggestion is also briefer.
Not seeing how it's being illustrated, especially since Samus still has a ton of health.

I disagree. Ridley in that picture in shown breathing fire balls and striking his tail at Samus at the same time. Given the direction of the tail and fireballs, it's quite clear you have to be in the dead middle to avoid being hit by both of them. Oh and since Super Metroid employs 2D Collision Damage and given the momentum of Ridley's tail, you're going to take damage anyways since the rest of his body is coming straight towards you.
Add on to the fact that the first entry of Metroid's That One Boss is a big one for Ridley, I think people can easily piece together why he's hard. He's all out attack and the only strategy against him is to kill him before he kills you.
It's not perfect, but it's certainly better than say the Airman image for Mega Man or the generic picture of Ridley currently up.
Unless someone is willingly to play Super Metroid again and capture an image of Samus with low health against Ridley, this is the best we got.
I could edit it to make Samus's health lower and it would look perfect (an advantage of pixel art).
This is why I'm in favor of that image.
While I'm not a fan of altering images to get the point across if it can be done legit, if that is the faster way of getting the point across about Ridley's That One Boss status, I wouldn't argue against it. Go ahead.
