He's Dead, Jim - two or more tropes in one?

According to its description, He's Dead, Jim covers different tropes in one:

  1. A character confirms in-universe by some flimsy means that another character is dead
    • checking of responses/pulse/iris/heart-beat, arm lifting
  2. Dying/dead characters themselves signify to the audience that they are dead
  3. An object signifies the death metaphorically

(3) may in future be covered by Doom Signifying Iconic Item but there is still the question if (1) and (2) are similar enough to be treated as one trope.

Let's just say it's a supertrope. (>w*)

Heck, we can make proper subtrope list if there are enough subtropes of it.

The clues given under (1) have no subtropes, the ones under (2) mostly do. So what we could do is move (2) away onto an index page, move (3) away onto the TLP draft and keep the trope for (1) alone. Opinions?

For one thing, (3) isn't always about iconic items.

For the other, I still don't need splitting.
