Hong Jian looked at her watch. It was time for her to visit Laurie. She then headed for the counseling office.

"Don't you worry, hon," Mahvash patted Peregrine on the shoulder before unfolding a parasol, and about facing before pointing forward. "We're leaving now. I'll bring the minivan to the front, and we'll head to the 'Super-Sized Appetite' then." Every once in a while, she could partake of that kind of food. No sense arguing against a solid voting block and Peregrine's stomach. "We'll be there in a jiffy. We won't even run into any traffic."She put a finger to her chin and the phone to her face, making a reservation and putting quite a bit of effort into securing perfect seats at the casual place, but she got her spots.

Karl looked at Ash. Telling her how he felt had somehow made him feel a bit better, even if she had not really been helpful. Still, he had a lot more appreciation for the loud, foul-mouthed pyrokinetic. "I was not planning on going along for food, but I suppose I will if you really want me along."
He then looked around again. "Where is fluffy?"
Umm... so, I was here, I guess. If I wasn't, someone hacked my account. So, yeah.Drawing the Short Straw - Fluffy
Fluffy gave the hellbeast two pats on the back to warn him to react before leap frogging forward underneath the axe swings and past the two guards, arms reaching forward to her sides to give the both of them a warning zap.
"Rude! Do you greet your mother with that axe?! Fluffy was just asking for directions!"
Training Room - Skewed Priorities
Well, the finale of the fight proved quite anticlimactic. For all of Dawn's excitement, the tank just disappeared, robbing her of a satisfying conclusion or at least a plan to formulate together with her classmates to ensure the safety of civilians. Tactics did not matter when one of them could just deposit enemies as he pleased in another realm.
Before she rejoined the rest of the group, Dawn walked back to retrieve her clothes, putting them on and going back to her almost-hidden figure of an innocuous maiden. One person seemed to be missing - apparently Mikael warped her together with the tank. Despite that grave piece of news, nobody seemed bothered in the slightest...? The blonde frowned. "I'm afraid I cannot join you." She replied softly to Mahvash, deciding not to comment on her feeling of disappointment towards the vast majority of her classmates, more concerned about going out for dinner than one of their own.
Her piercing blue eyes settled on Ellie. "Could you possibly send me to that realm? I'll go looking for Fluffy. The more people see to it, the more likely it is she'll come back safe."

"!" Mahvash pouted somewhat at Dawn's action and then tilted her head at her words. "We've been there before," the daeva said soothingly. "Mikael's family home is how shall I say, adjacent to this point in this realm. It also is quite hostile to anyone outside the tribe, no matter how how noble or charming. Our Mikael's really the best suited to retrieve her. He's really just visiting his mother. They'll catch up with us shortly."She gave a wave while shifting her parasol out of view of her face. "Now come on, and let's get to know each other. We must hear stories of how you learned those techniques. Plus, you can keep all of us safe and healthy in the big world."

Dawn would feel a feather-light touch on her arm. Jack looked up at her with a small smile.
"It's admirable what you want to do. If no one else is willing to send us perhaps we can talk to Professor Kilgore about it. Of course we might need to find someone to guide us. When I tried to do a spread to find an approximate location I just got The Devil...five times in the same spread. But we can try."

Ellie tilted her head at the religious girl's request. Then she grinned.
"What the daeva said. 'Sides, I'd need to follow you there so you don't get lost, and I am way too hungry right now. So relax. I'm sure Mi-Mi will be back with her in no time."
Abyss - Mother Son Bonding
"I... teleported something to the Abyss to get rid of it, but didn't realize one of my classmates was inside it." Mikael said, supressing a wince. "When I came back to get her, she was gone. She's dressed up like a sheep, sort of. White and puffy. I'm worried something or someone might have grabbed her."
He sighed. "God, the first day and I already might have accidentally gotten one of my classmates killed. Some hero I am."
For a moment, Mikael thought he heard something in the distance, but dismissed it as the wind. (Or one of the hellish lightning storms that frequently blew in from beyond the Black Forest. Damned annoying, those were.)
Abyss - Lava Your Life
The hound deftly avoided the axe-swing, growling at the door-guards, as he took once more to the air.
He flew above the force-field, over the palace, and started barking, rapidly and loudly, as though trying to wake up the entire castle. In the distance, from somewhere in the palace, more hounds began to bark back.

Dawn was still as a statue, lips in a very distinct :| shape. She had no fear of demons or Hell, but it was true that she could lose herself in that vast expanse. None would shed tears for her, she thought, but-
Slowly, the blonde exhaled, the air leaving her with a foreboding whistle. Slowly, she looked down at Jack offering encouragement, then back to Mahvash and Ellie. "Very well. I will trust your judgment." Despite her words, she didn't appear all that much more relaxed. "I... am fine with any eatery, really."
Laurie's Office
Laurie was busy going over her papers as Hong arrived. She was wearing a spiffy black suit, though her buttons and tie had both been loosened. Her hair was long but well kept, and while her desk was mostly organized, there were a few magazines lying about, worn from use. She looked at her watch before looking up just as Hong came in, awaiting her arrival. "Hey, Hong. How you doin'? First day of school, right? How'd it go?"
The Abyss — Amadea's Room
Amadea put a hand on Mikael's shoulder, doing her best to be an actual mother. "Oh, don't worry about it, Mikael. Things happen. It isn't your fault. Although, perhaps you're just not cut out for this sort of thing. We demons don't always have the best moral compasses. Which admittedly makes it hard to be a hero. Or just a decent person. Have you ever thought about joining the castle guard? It isn't the best job around, but I think you'd be a shoe-in. And we'd be able to spend more time together. Something to think about."
Just then, Amadea's ears pricked. "Do you hear something, Mikael? Perhaps it's only my imagination, but I think someone woke up the hounds."
Training Room
Mahvash and Ellie is it? The daeva's eyes twitched alot under her briefly lowered parasol. The demon repeating her gesture was a coincidence or a demon thing, but still. Nuh-uh. But the
"Excellent!" She said giving Dawn a beatific smile. "So glad to have you come! And that's no way to speak. We'll find something pleasing not just tolerable. Our little Peregrine will have something filling, and Iris will have ti make extra sure that her eyes are not bigger than her stomach. And we can do our eye spy on the way."
Super Sized Appetite
Mahvash's minivan had enough room for the entire group. It also shined in the parking lot. The vehicle was the same as before. She had not taken it on its last hurrah yet. And while, she did not bother cleaning it up (painting over bullet holes and burns and reupholstering chairs) for the kids last year, this class had prospects, not just kids.
Something it was not was a convertible. The daeva had simply unmade the roof with a smooth finish to get that 'hair blowing in the wind' effect. She lifted the car into the air with creative application of her ability and they were off... in a ride smoother than a gentle rowboat ride. They made it in record time by sheer virtue of sailing over all of the traffic.
The cafe, wedged between two brick buildings downtown, seemed quite stuck in the past. The sing, through a layer of grime, read 'Tanner's Trashheap' in bold if faded letters. 'Super Sized Eatery' had been roughly taped across it with worn construction paper. Yet, somehow, Mahvash managed to find a valet to park her car.
"And our tables are ready. Timed that before we got here. You are allowed to escort me inside, particularly if you rode the shotgun or...are treating I suppose."
The inside of the cafe though, had a postmodern, dimly lit set-up with polished oak tables and flooring. Soft music played in the background just loud enough to make conversations private but no one would have any trouble hearing the woman next to them. The brick walls were covered in newspaper clippings and snapshots from old movies and a stage on the far end, jutting in view of everyone and everything was dominated by a huge karaoke stand. Oh wow, this place is so cool! Nice choice!
He looked around as his hand was still idly writing the words, as he took in the area around them, and the aesthetics. He looked around for another moment, before lookin back at his new...allies? Companions? Friends? Well he sure hoped one of the three!
Get whatever you like guys, it's on me! No expense too great for future heroes and new friends!
Perry paused at the door and looked around. Then she went in.
"I hopes you mean that," she said. Using small words, she ordered a large burger with a "healthy" helping of fries, and a soda. Two smaller burgers were meant for Rollo and Lucky; Some fries would go to Pip.
She settled down to wait.

“...Yeah, no.” Ash looked blandly at Mahvash as she walked past her and into the... establishment. Not quite what she was expecting, but it was actually an improvement. The place had a decent enough vibe to it—not too in-your-face.
Though she pointedly avoided looking at the karaoke stand.
“Huh. Not bad,” she commented, trailing her fingers across one of the tables as she walked past in her usual inspection. Although her gaze flitted more towards the newspaper clippings on the walls than anything else. “Got some history, this place. I can see it.”
She settled down at the table in her usual looked-like-it-should-hurt manner—namely this time by tucking one leg under the other and leaning forward; one hand resting on the table itself. As one would probably have predicted, she took her gum back out her mouth and nonchalantly stuck it under the table—little to no shame evident on her face as she did so.
“I'll have whatever what's-her-face is having. Perry, was it? Y'know, you should write all these #$&%ing names down for me if you expect me to remember them. They're tricky,” she remarked, before shrugging and leaning back. “Anyhow, that was some sick-ass fighting you guys did back there. I'd have paid more attention if I could, but I could hear. You really don't hold back, do ya?”

bork"Given our numbers, at least a couple more should pitch in" Sam commented, making a quick head count. "Just remember to save a seat for Mikael and Fluffy, after this one, it's the least we can do"
Picking a seat, he made his order of a large cheese and bacon burger, fries and a Sprite before looking at the stage.
"That'll be fun" He said. "I think I'll go"
Ryuu, on the other hand sat quickly, ordering the biggest burger they have, with onion rings and an orange juice.
"Well, I am starving" He sat down "Hopefully the service is quick"

Jack offered Dawn their arm. "May I escort the lady to her carriage?" They teased, but their earnest tone and light flush gave away that it was meant politely.

Upon entering the establishment Jack let out a warm chuckle. "Oh, now that is clever, I like it. Almost like a speakeasy, how absolutely charming."

Alex was worried about Fluffy, but... well, she was hesitant to jump headfirst into a dangerous situation. Something like a missing kid was for the adults or people more qualified than her to figure out, right? That's how she was raised, and even as a hero in training, some habits were hard to break. Besides, only Ellie and Mikael had a way to get there, so... that was that.
Super Sized Appetite
Well, this place looked pretty nice. Oh, it had karaoke too? Hm... what would we she sing? Well, she could figure that out later. Right now she was focused on the other students... and food. She hadn't had that much to eat today.
"Thank you Zach and Mahvash. I really appreciate your hospitality. Though, if need be I can certainly pay for my own food. It's really no trouble at all."
She went ahead and ordered a Reuben, then turned her attention over to Ash.
"Thanks. My abilities are somewhat unorthodox, so I'm trying my best to master them as much as I can. You're not bad yourself, you know."
"It feels... exhilarating. Like a leash being cut off. When I cut down those robots, I felt a sense of purpose, a sense of catharsis, like I am destined to destroyed them."
She lowered her gaze. "The robots were very humanoid. I wonder if I would feel the same if they were actual humans with guns."
Continue writing our story of peace.Oliver wandered almost aimlessly into "Super-sized Appetite." He'd never thanked Fluffy for the plush. He sincerely hoped that Mikael had found her by now. He seemed confident enough in his own abilities, maybe even too much. "Should be alright," Oliver decided before taking a seat with the others. He'd truthfully come more for the company than anything else.
The intricate bloom that weaved itself about his aching bones and drank deep in his blood was more than capable of letting him know when it required attention. After all that training, he was dying of thirst. "Water Please," he requested. Top seated himself on the table. He doubted they had many options he was familiar with, but whatever they did have smelled delicious.
"I want what she's having." Top decided, pointing briefly at Perry, "Bigger though. Yeah. I want the biggest Burger you've got."

Laurie's Office
"The fact that you're even asking yourself that is a pretty good sign that you wouldn't," said Laurie. "Or at least I don't think you would. Part of being human is questioning yourself. Wondering if what you're doing is right. And from what I can tell, you're already part of the way there."
Before
The blonde nodded, and gently held onto Jack's arm, offering a small smile. "You're too kind for me."
Now
Soon, they found themselves in front of the eatery in question. Apparently, Mahvash arranged tables for them and Zach was willing to pay for them. It was bad to admit, but Dawn's allowance was lacking, largely due to her own decision to give most of it for a higher purpose. She was fine to live a minimalistic life. To be treated like this was a present.
Having generally grown somewhat more relaxed on a ride to here, the blonde merely smiled and offered a hand to Mahvash. "Allow me then." It was good, riding shotgun. Once they've entered and Dawn got to marvel at the interior, she turned her attention towards the menu. All this fighting did make one hungry. "A king-sized set, please." With a positively staggering pile of high-calories food acquired, Dawn smiled at Ash. "I do find holding back difficult still. I hope I can find restraint soon enough. Because of that, I... admit I did not pay much attention to most others. Apologies."

The Abyss — Amadea's Room
"Just a minute!" Amadea opened her room, absolutely delighted to see Mikael standing in the doorway. She was nearly as tall as him, but was much more sleek. And somewhat more amphibious.
◊ She was dressed in a black bikini, obviously having adopted something of a dress code. "Oh, Mikael! Lovely to see you! Already done with your first day of school? Anyway, no, I don't believe I have. Is there something I should know?"
The Abyss — Drawbridge
The two guardsmen slowly looked at one another before glaring at Fluffy and licking their lips.
"Food?" said one.
"Food," said the other.
They each lifted up a large, jagged axe and roared, bringing them down toward Fluffy in an attempt to literally make her mincemeat.
