Rebecca
Rebecca rushed to catch up as Dawn carried Ash to the infirmary.
"I'm so so sorry about that! I was just worried that the gym would catch fire or something. Oh, here!"
With a wave of Rebecca's hand, the sewage was sucked off of Ash's body and formed a ball floating next to her.
"I'll find a place to get rid of this later. Anyway, you shouldn't push yourself like that! You don't want to leave yourself this exhausted during a real fight, do you?"
Gym → Nurse's Office
"Uh?” Ash blinked, raising her head to meet Rebecca's gaze and looking at her confusedly. “Not fire. Not... sew– s-sew– #$&% it; sludge-s*** either. Went all... f-funny...” she shrugged, shifting slightly and making a tiny fireball on her fingertip to prove it. “See? Fire good. Me bad. #$&% I can't speak proper... properly...” she groaned frustratedly, letting herself fall limp again. “#$&%ing Ash Phoenix. Can't even play #$&%ing dodgeball right... #$&%!!” she cursed, slamming her fist against Dawn with all the strength she could muster. Which was about the equivalent of a baby monkey at this point. It barely even made a ‘smack’.
Nonetheless, she blinked and shook her head, looking a little sheepish at her outburst.
“Sorry, Dawn...”

borkGym Class
"Mikael," Mahvash had briefly departed to check on the lad after saying her piece to the principal. If Saint needed her before she went to one of her classmates, he would say so. "Well, class is canceled it seems, and we have some time. Let me know if I can help you prepare anything for Parents' Night."
She was well aware of how the little demon and his 'opa' had last left each other on a parents' night.

"I'm fine, Mahvash." He said. "Truth be told, my Opa is... he's been getting worse, lately, healthwise. Liver problems. Amongst other things. So I don't think he'll be showing up. Not that he would anyway, with my mother there but, well, it's fine."
Mikael waved off her support, though he couldn't help but reach for his locket, thumbing it nervously.
Between his own family problems and Ellie's, this would be a hell of a night.

" Hi, Mr. Saint. Sorry about that we got a little too into it." She explained trying to stay coherent.

Just an adorable fan girl and cosplayer ヾ(*・ω・)ノ💝💟Saint Academy — Parents Night
With Saint having brought the dodgeball game to a swift and rather abrupt conclusion, it would soon be time for Parent's Night. However, there was one other thing to take care of first. Before everyone started getting ready for the big night, it was time to finally split the class into Squads. The idea behind it was much the same as that of the dodgeball match. Out there in the real world, one never knew just who they might be paired up. As such, it was essential to learn to work with people one might not otherwise care for, regardless of how much they may not have wanted to. All that was left was for the squads to pick out their names, though that wasn't something that to be done that night.
With that taken care of, all that was left was Parent's Night. Mostly. Despite her best efforts, Dawn had been having some trouble with math class. As such, the school's resident math teacher had asked to meet with her at the start of Parent's Night before it really got going. He promised it wouldn't be long, as he didn't want to interfere too much with whatever she had planned. But he was still insistent on meeting with her as soon as possible.
In any case, the Gym was now ready and waiting for Parent's Night, regardless of the damage that had been done to it earlier. With Mr.Clean going into overdrive and Dr.Bozo taking care of any leftover odds and ends, it was a cinch. And now all Parent's Night needed was the actual parents. Despite how much the students may or may not have wanted them there.
God help them all.

The mother of a girl of a certain sheepish persuasion had arrived a bit early for parent-teacher night, Fluffy waving her over with many hugs and kisses between them. And headpats. And tickles. It was a wonder how they and everyone around them avoiding suffering toothache from all the sweetness between the two. After the mother-daughter tickle match, a sore cheeked Fluffy wiped away her tears of laughter and asked her mom, "So did you bring it...?"
With a smile Miss Shepherd glanced over towards the school parking lot. "Just let Perry know I have a present for her and afterwards I can bring it up to the room~"
Fluffy then immediately tackle hugged her mom as thanks. "Best Mama ever~"
"Ehe, I dunno about that..."
Rebecca('s Family) - Pyro Squad 3 - Gym
Through the gym doors came a middle-aged woman with a lined face and blond hair tied int a short ponytail. She scanned the room, and her face lit up when she saw Rebecca. Detective Rachel Raleigh of the Bay City Police Department quickly made her way over to her daughter.
"There's my little stinkbomb! We've missed you so much! Your father was so upset he couldn't come you know, but god forbid they give him a day off."
Rebecca smiled back. "I missed you too, Mom!"
Just then another person approached the two. The girl was a mirror image of Rebecca, minus the ever-present layer of grime. But while Rebecca carried herself with what she imagined was the bearing of a hero, this girl slouched with her hands stuffed into the pockets of her hoodie. She smirked.
"S'up, Garbage Breath?"
Rebecca met her with a smirk of her own.
"Love you too, Renée."

An older, balding man wearing the improbable combination of a nice suit and a cloak ran into the gymnasium at a full sprint. As soon as he reached Iris, Richard Langley lifted his daughter off the ground and into a hug.
"Irey, come on, hug Daddy back! It's been so long!"
Iris looked incredibly embarrassed by the whole scenario. "I can't move my arms with you holding me like this, Dad... Besides, we videochat every night."
Richard realized his mistake and let go of his daughter. "You know that's nothing like meeting in person! Thank His Omniscience we're reunited!"
He only then seemed to notice the other students around them.
"Oh, are you Irey's little friends? I'm her father, but please, call me Richard."
Iris was currently making a valiant effort not to die of embarrassment.

Mikael and Ellie held hands as they entered the gym. They were in separate Squads, unfortunately, but they still shared a room, at least, so they would never be apart for too long.
Her mother was like her, blue-scaled and white-haired, with a single horn, wearing a tight black dress. She kept her hair shorter than Ellie's. Her father was grey-skinned, bald, with multiple smaller horns sticking out atop his head like spikes. His horns looked vaguely metallic, and one could occasionally see a spark of electricity jump from one horn-spike to another.
The young couple approached the older one, and Ellie's mother caught sight of her almost immediately, swooping in to wrap her daughter in a hug.
"Ellie, darling!" She smiled brightly. "Oh, I've missed you."
"H-hi, mama. Papa." Ellie stammered out.
"Why are you in such a hideous form, child?" Her mother stroked her hair. "I mean, even with your beautiful hair, you still look so... ugly."
"Oh, um." Ellie couldn't meet her mother's gaze. "Mi-mi, er, Mikael. He taught me a bit of shapeshifting. Human form isn't that bad, once you - you know, get used to it."
"Hello." Mikael greeted, waving as he was mentioned. Almost immediately two pairs of eyes locked onto him. "I'm Mikael. Your daughter's boyfriend."
"Well, well, well." Ellie's father leaned down to stare Mikael in the eye, his voice a deep rumble. "So you're the half-breed that my daughter's been babbling about. Not much to look at, are you? Hmph."
He rose, crossing his arms. "As long as you help her produce a powerful heir, I suppose it doesn't matter."
"Papa," Ellie steeled herself, pulling away from her mother, "I'm not ready for... kids..."
She shrunk under her father's withering glare. "Now listen here, missy. You're a Molgur, damn it, and we have pedigree. You're lucky I'm letting you date this mutt at all."
"To be fair, Malmortius dear, he does claim to be descended from Zamiel." Her mother interjected.
"Pah. A half-breed son of some distant cousin, more likely. Young ones lie about their parentage all the time, Yza." Malmortius grabbed his daughter's arm. "The human world has made you weak, daughter. Clearly, you should take a break from it."
"N-no!" She pulled, but could only struggle against her father's grasp. She shifted into demon form, pulled harder, but accomplished nothing. "I won't!"
Mikael's hand, now large and clawed, settled over Malmortius's. "Let. Her. Go."
"Or what?" Malmortius grinned wickedly. "You'll fight me? Or maybe you'll call your 'father' to help you, huh? Don't make me laugh. I'd kill you in a heartbeat, brat."
Mikael cocked his other hand back, readied a blow -
And then all four demons froze, at the presence of a fifth. In a great swirl of black, the towering figure appeared, a great dark shadow, clanking like black iron. At his full height, even Malmortius came to the demon lord's stomach. Raw, terrible power emanated, directed entirely at Ellie's mother and father. The two elder demons fell to their knees.
"Lord... Lord Zamiel." Yza gasped.
"The Black Huntsman. You-" Malmortius trembled.
"That is my son you threaten." Echoed the voice of one of the Lords of Hell. "I shall warn you but once. Leave, never threaten my son or his lover again. Or else I shall smite thee, with all of my terrible fury."
"Forgive us!" Malmortius vanished in a familiar demonic teleport.
"Thank you, Lord Zamiel, for - for your mercy." Yza stammered, before likewise vanishing.
Then the presence was gone, and before them stood only a tall, rugged blonde man in a casual suit. Mikael blinked, and remembered for the first time that they weren't alone in the room... but none of the others in the gym seemed to have noticed anything, somehow.
"Notice-me-not charm." Mikael's father smiled. "Learned that trick from a fairy. Useful for having supernatural dealings without making mortals flip the fuck out. Figured it would help while I dealt with the Molgurs."
Mikael's mouth opened and closed a few times, gaping like a fish, as Zamiel reached out and ruffled his hair. "What - what are you..." Mikael stammered. Zamiel only chuckled.
"What, I can't visit my son?" His smile turned bitersweet. "Sorry for not visiting sooner, kiddo. Being a Lord of Hell means being very, very busy. I was actually going to pop in last month, but some... things, happened."
Mikael promptly punched him in the face, and Zamiel staggered back, rubbing his jaw. "Ow. Okay, yeah, I probably deserved that."
"You deserve a hell of a lot more than that." Another blonde man, who could also have passed for Mikael's father, appeared, dressed in a familiar coat and holding a familiar cane. Though his teleportation didn't have the usual swirl of blackness, Mikael could tell he was a demon.
And yet, Mikael knew that this was, or had been, a man. A man that was the spitting image of the picture in his locket. The picture of...
"Opa?" Mikael asked, quietly. Ellie just looked lost.
"Hello, Mikael." Josef smiled. "You've grown. Or perhaps that's the demon blood."
"You - that - how - the fuck -" Mikael gestured futilely, trying to make sense of this.
"Language." Zamiel admonished. Josef slapped him upside the head. Zamiel snickered.
"You see, Mikael... this happened because I was dying. My old liver finally gave out." Josef said, and Mikael's eyes widened.
"Actually, I think you legally were dead, for a minute." Zamiel smiled sheepishly at Mikael, like he'd done something stupid. "Your mother, Mikael.. she was inconsolable. She begged Josef to become a demon, so he would survive, but he refused, stubbornly." Zamiel's eyes narrowed dangerously. "I cannot stand to hear any of my wives weep. I would not allow one old fool's bitterness to destroy his family, and so I transformed Josef against his will."
"Yes." Josef sighed. "And as much as I hated it at first... I came to understand why Amadea would accept this power. I apologized to her, sincerely."
"Well, first he tried to kill me for about 103 consecutive hours." Zamiel grinned. "Let me tell you, your granddad is one hell of a fighter. Got the hang of his demonic powers almost immediately, and very nearly kicked my ass. I was totally holding back, though."
"Incidentally, that's why your mother isn't here." Josef smiled smugly. "I already apologized to her, but she was quite mad with Zamiel after learning what he'd done. She's currently ignoring him."
"Eh, she'll get over it." Zamiel shrugged.
"Opa..." Mikael lunged forward and hugged him. "I'm... glad to see you again. But are you sure you're alright with this?"
"I know I told you to never trust demons, Mikael." Josef looked downcast. "But I was an old, drunken fool. While it may have been against my wishes, I am ultimately glad, as I was able to hold my grandson once more. Though hopefully, when I do finally kick it, your grandmother will still be waiting for me, eh?"
Mikael laughed, hugging his grandfather tighter.
"So," Ellie tapped her fingers together nervously, "Lord Zamiel, sir..."
"Please," Zamiel smiled at her, "Just call me 'Zamiel'. No need to be so formal. You are my future daughter-in-law, after all. Right?"
Ellie's face turned beet red and her throat made a soft, high-pitched squealing noise as Zamiel strode forward and wrapped an arm around her. "So I suppose you can also call me dad, if you prefer."
"Yes, daddy." She practically moaned, and Josef promptly pulled the two of them apart.
"Stop trying to steal your own son's girlfriend, goddammit."
"Oh come on, I'm just messing around. Mostly."
Ellie and Mikael could only laugh.

What is so amusing about this? Why do you take lives? How can you forget?Zach - Secret Squad 1 - Gym
...
"Excuse me." A soft voice from behind Zach earned his attention, and made his eyesbrows go up. "I happen to be looking for my son? Think you can be a hero and help me out?"
He spun around to face an older woman with a messy bun of brown hair, and soft hazel eyes. She was currently wearing a very simple sweater and a pair of pants. Based on the bags under her eyes, she hadn't been sleeping in a while.
...Mom...? He signed in surprised. What are you-
"Oh come on, you think I'm going to miss seeing my own son after months?" She laughed, waving him off before reaching out and grabbing him in a tight hug. "Don't tell me you're too good to give your mom a hug!"
Still surprised at seeing his mother here, he slowly, cautiously wrapped his arms around her before the smile grew on his face and he pulled her closer.
"So!" She grinned as she pulled away. "Your little friends like sweets? I've baked enough for a small city!" She laughed, holding up several bags from her arms.
Mom! Why are you baking when you could be RESTING.
"I'll sleep when I die, honey! Now, come on! Introduce me to your friends! I'm sure they'll like their treats!" She laughed and walked off, carrying the bags in question with no hesitation.
He stared for a moment before he could only sigh and follow after her. Apparently he was going to need to have a discussion with her...again.
Parents' Night - Karl's Onkel Wilhelm von Aschemund - Gymnote
Wilhelm von Aschemund strode through the gym doors. He looked about twelve years older than Karl, with the same glossy black hair (although his was long and curly), eerily pale skin, and seeming emotionlessness, although he seemed a lot more relaxed than Karl did. He had pale yellowish green eyes and unkempt stubble on his chin and wore a trench coat, battered jeans, combat boots, and a T-Shirt for some Irish Doom Metal band.
"Karl!" he said, with genuine warmth apparent in his voice, albeit faint "It's good to see you again! How's my favorite nephew doing? Are you enjoying it at superhero school?"
"Yes, uncle Wilhelm, I am enjoying it very much here. I even made a few friends." Karl said, giving his uncle the barest hint of a smile.
"That's good to hear! I'm glad that they're willing to accept you. It's also great that you're learning to express your emotions more, now that your tyrant of a mother isn't around to slap you if you so much is blink wrong." He said, smiling slightly.
"Well, most of them are willing to accept me." Karl replied, just a hint of sadness apparent in his voice. "Are my parents coming?"
"Unfortunately, yes. I couldn't stop them, but they're going to be late, so you might be able to avoid them if you play your cards right." Uncle Wilhelm said.
"Well, that is better than them arriving on time. I suppose we should thank god for small blessings." Karl replied.
"Don't thank god for this one," uncle Wilhelm said, "Thank grandfather. He's the one that stopped them on their way out to fuss at them for something or other. It was one of the few times I was actually glad he hasn't died of old age quite yet."
Karl chuckled quietly, then, in English, asked his uncle "Would you like to meet some of my friends?"

Umm... so, I was here, I guess. If I wasn't, someone hacked my account. So, yeah.Parent's Night—Perry's Parents Arrive
Outside the school, a rented car pulled up in the parking lot. A man and a woman both stepped out and walked towards the school.
The man had jet-black hair, which was tastefully cropped short and gelled. His brown eyes observed the school's surroundings lazily. This was Hawk Alastor, (semi)notorious for strange spiritual happenings around his residence. He was currently wearing a suit under a longcoat.
The woman had reddish-brown hair and also had brown eyes. She had an air of superiority about her. Her name was Eliza Alastor, and she was proud that she had managed to marry a man with means. Her manicured and red-painted nails held a brand-name purse steady, and her paisley sundress flapped slightly in the wind.
A shadowy human shape followed the two meekly. It looked just like Perry's friends (confirming that these were indeed Perry's parents), but something was off about the whole entourage.
Hawk had a cane with a white gemstone embedded in the top, with runes inscribed upon the side. Those magically inclined would know that this cane and similar items were called a Focus, and was mainly used to help those with a weak ability to summon and control spirits do those things. To further prove this point, the human spirit was flickering and wavering, as if the thing binding it to this world wasn't very strong.
One had to ask why they berated Perry for having a weak ability to control spirits if Hawk had weak abilities himself. That question had to be put aside for now, as they were now inside the school.
"Hello, I need to warn you of something. It's about my daughter, Peregrine," Hawk said to a random teacher.
Perry—Ignorance Is Bliss
Perry approached Zamiel with wonder, not noticing her parents had come into the school building.
"So I hear you like doggies," she said shyly. "Meet Rollo!"
Said ghostly wolfdog thumped his tail a few times on the ground in greeting, his mouth full of a variety of refreshments that had been set out. One month after arriving at Saint Academy, and he still looked like he was starved. Thankfully, there was no end of food to feed his voracious appetite.
A few puppies that looked like they were dripping with water rolled out from behind Rollo and looked up at Zamiel. One barked and wagged his tail, and the others started doing the same.
I wear the skin of the Elder Things, having come unto my own.Parents' Night - Squad 4 AKA 5 and a Half Girls AKA That Name Isn't Very Good Actually So Nevermind. Also, Parents.
Alex saw the Fluffamily (in their mind a perfectly fine name) being incredibly sweet and cute. The only reason they didn't melt from cute overload was their sheer willpower.
"Hi miss Shepard!" they waved hello to her. "It's always great to see you!"
And then, here comes the Alexfam.
A man with the same hair color as Alex's - that is to say a strange mix of black on one side and white on the other - approached their child. Somewhat eccentric hair aside, they were as normal looking as could be. Clean shaven, average height, average build, and wearing a pretty average looking casual blue jacket with jeans. Alex greeted their father with a big hug.
"Hi dad!" they beamed. "I’m glad to see you could make it!”
“I wouldn’t miss getting to see you for anything,” he replied. “Work is work, but you’re what’s important to me. So how’s school going? Have you been making friends, doing well in your studies, and enjoying yourself?”
“Yes to all three,” Alex said. “Some of them are right here, in fact. Dad, I want you to meet-”
Alex cut off as they heard a loud thump as something – or someone rather – landed in the parking lot with a mighty kaboom.
“Oh my,” Alex’s father said, surprised. “It seems your mother made it tonight after all!”
“Seriously?” Alex looked somewhat incredulous. “Why doesn’t she just take a car or the bus like everyone else?”
Their father shrugged, as if leaping from place to place with superhuman power was a method of transport Alex’s mother took frequently when she didn’t feel like driving. Which it most certainly was.
Before they had the chance to discuss anything else, both of them were hugged by an amazonian woman that came out of nowhere. She had several inches on Dawn, had the same hair dealio as everyone in the Alex family, and was wearing a white lab coat. Evidently she was a woman of science, though the way she glomped her family like a runaway freight train might make you think otherwise.
“Sweetie! I’m so glad to see you!” Alex’s mom practically shouted. “Bet you thought you were just going to have one embarrassing parent here tonight, huh? Hope you’re ready for double!”
The three of them couldn’t help but chuckle at the absurdity of it all.
“So aren’t you going to introduce us to your friends?”
“I was getting to that, yes,” Alex indicated the rest of the Squad. “This is Felicity – we call her Fluffy, though – that’s Perry, that’s Sally, there’s Dawn, and that’s Iona. And everyone else, well, these are my folks!”
Oliver breathed a sigh of relief. I guess..I guess they really couldn't make it. he thought. He'd left the gym only to change into his casual wear, but now he was back and sitting on the bleachers. It seemed as though his worries were over. The feeling was too good to last. He spotted a familiar face in the crowd; an unmistakable one.
"What the...Ricky?"
Everyone knew when the oldest Wilson child entered the room. Whether it was his jet black hair or the icy blue eyes he was so insistent on hiding behind his mirrored glasses was a mystery. He'd chosen the "fancy" blazer this time. The one with the red and gold dragon embroidered on the back of it and the dress pants were decidedly new. He absentmindedly placed a cigarette between his lips before suddenly remembering where he was. "Mom and dad had a delivery to Alpha Centauri or somethin. Sent me instead."
"O-oh."
"Don't 'Oh' me," Ricky said, practically pulling Oliver into a hug. The man was ten years his senior and had twice the strength that came with it; Twice the height too.
"It's great to see you," Oliver replied. He tried to smile but it faded with a single look that seemed to pierce his very being from behind the lenses of those glasses. There were a number of things Ricky hated, so many that if anyone ever tried to make a list, their hands would fall off. "Don't lie to me either."
Shane's Parents; Arrival at the Gym
A long, black car pulled up to the school and a pair of armed men got out from the front seats and opened the doors at the back for Jason Calston and Elric, the "defense company" head shaking the hands of his two "drivers".
In every respect, Jason Calston was a masculine, strong looking man, angular features carved like those of a Roman Statue - his was a masculinity defined by its sharp points and handsome features. Black hair naturally somewhat curly combed to the side, intense light blue eyes looking out around him. He almost came off as either a dreamboat or even a pornstar just going by the sheer way he walked. He wore a white button up shirt, long sleeves tight around 19 or 20 inch biceps - everything about him came off as carefully curated and developed. His dress pants hugged to a muscular derriere and planted on the ground were a pair of black boots ending off a pair of tremendously muscled legs.
Next to such a statuesque bastion of almost lewd good looks, Elric came off as eminently the adult. Long black and gray hair, a wrinkled, bespectacled face perpetually showing a smile, he was dressed in a tuxedo, much more official than what his employer wore. His gloves seemed distinctly odd, threaded much more tightly and visibly thrumming somehow.
Elric turned his head to the side to look at something, and then bit his lip.
Jason asked, "...Is something wrong old friend?"
"...No, no, it's nothing. I just had a brief hot flash, I think, it comes with age."
Jason knew Elric was lying, but if Elric wasn't willing to say what was wrong he knew he wasn't going to get the info out of him.
"Hey, big guy. Looks like someone's been working out a lot today. Nice sweat stains, kid." Jason Calston made his entrances bombastic and at once somewhat embarrassing.
Shane ran over and hugged his dad once, and then lightly hugged Elric as well, "D-Dad, Elric, I-I...uh..." He didn't honestly expect to have this raw an emotional reaction at the initial sight of them. "I've been a good boy here."
He said that like it meant something else, and to be fair it did.
Elric smiled wryly, "So no "deleterious, antisocial activities", then?"
Shane gave a somewhat more serious grin to the old retainer, "Given nobody here's that caliber of asshole as of yet to deserve it, no."
Elric squeezed Shane's shoulder, "That's the boy I helped raise. By the by..." He leaned over briefly and whispered, "...that pedophilic teacher in your old school? He won't be upsetting the community ever again."
Shane whispered back, "...I freaking love you, Elric."
Jason stuck a finger in his ear and said, "Not hearing this...I'm not hearing it...not that I disapprove."
Jason then looked around and asked, "So, how's school going, Shane? I hope you haven't been slacking on classes and just working out."
"I've been doing good, mostly B's and C's. I've been...busy." Shane stuck his hands in his pockets and nodded in a certain way.
Jason grinned, and said, "If you ever need anything, just give me and my people a call. I heard about what happened, and officially I need to say I am displeased as a parent..." The elder Calston then whispered, leaning in, "...but as a Calston, I'm deeply impressed. You're doing great. Keep it up."
Shane just smiled and figured the upbringing he got probably wasn't what most would consider a moral upbringing, but he would not trade it for ANYTHING.

Dante – Gym
Wonder Dante, who was still on the floor, went full on fanboy by seeing the Saint.
Greetings, Saint!, he greeted the Saint.
I could use a lift!!, he said calmly
Then Ellie lifted him and Zach up.
And she teleported us to the Nurse's Office.
Parent's Night (Timeskip) – Gym
Wonder Dante returned to gym, feeling better.
Ho ho ho! Dante! Did you miss me? , A voice said ,from the Wonder Masquerade, sounding happy.
Wait a minute...Father?!!, Dante asked, loudly.
Yes, son. I'm here now...but first... , the Wonder Masquerade detached itself from Dante's face, reverting him to normal.
Greetings, Americans, I am the Carnival King, Raffaello Precossini. , the Carnival King introduced himself, sounding kingly and stuff.
It seems my son got himself into trouble last month, but I am glad to see that he's fine... , the King said, sounding relieved.

You might know everything I'm going to do...but that's not going to help you, since I KNOW EVERYTHING YOU'RE GOING TO DO! STRANGE, ISN'T IT?Dawn, Parents' Night But Not In Gym
The math teacher requested that they meet before the meeting. As Dawn was unaware of anyone coming to see visit her - her handlers didn't notify her outside of dire cases, and she supposed that a Parents' Night wasn't quite it - she figured that there's no harm in coming over.
Having changed into a more casual outfit, she knocked at the door to the teacher's room, not sure what to expect. It wasn't like her math grades were bad. She simply had some minor problems she could no doubt sort out with Jack or someone better than her. Why the need for a meeting?
Meanwhile...
A dinky old Fiat stopped by the school. Classic Polish production, a little tomb designed to get you a proper burial right away once you inevitably clip something on the road. William Sherman liked it just fine. It was his turn as a member of the Supernatural Prevention Bureau to visit the government's favorite ex-child solder slash ex-pseudoscientific experiment. He stopped by some rental, giving it a cursory look before he straightened his tie somewhat.
He didn't bother with formal wear, opting to keep in his used up trenchcoat. As far as he knew, Dawn didn't bother with formal wear herself, so they were even on that account. Lighting up a cigarette, he cast a vaguely disapproving look at the soldier of fortune coming in like he owned the whole academy before shuffling in, tapping his temple. Some nouveau riche-looking types - the rental was probably theirs - were bothering one of the teachers, seemed, a "warning" about a "Peregrine". Oh yeah, the all-fours kid spirit medium.
"Sherman, SPB." He introduced himself to the same teacher, absentmindedly showing his ID card and not particularly caring for cutting in, looking like a pauper next to Alastor princes. "Here for Dawn Victoria. She doesn't seem to be around the gym."
Parent's Night
Ash walked into the now prepared gym, looking only a little bit better from her earlier and unexplained bout of fatigue. She was still a little lightheaded, still a little unsteady on her feet, but at least she could feel her legs again. The lights hurt her eyes a bit though—enough to make the already anxious and awkward-feeling girl even more miserable.
She leant against a wall, crossing her arms and putting the sole of one of her feet against it for good measure. For once her gum wasn't in her mouth; a bout of nausea when she had tried to put it back in had put her off of chewing the stuff for the evening. It made her visible nervous. And the multitude of people showing up hadn't helped in the slightest.
“Mon chéri!”
The pyrokinetic let out a startled ‘oof!’ as she was suddenly hugged from behind by two incredibly strong and paradoxically incredibly thin arms. Alarmed as to where this person came from (wasn't she resting against the wall just now?), Ash quickly wriggled out of their grip and turned around—only for her mouth to fall agape in a mixture of shock and confusion at the person behind the hug (literally).
For one, she was an incredibly beautiful woman who appeared to be in her mid-to-late 20s, possibly even early 30s at a stretch. Two, she was exceptionally tall. Not Dawn tall, but tall nonetheless. Ash wasn't exactly a short girl by any means, but even so she found herself craning her neck to meet the eyes of this strange woman. Those strange, pinkish-red eyes. Combined with her messily chopped white hair, Ash briefly wondered if she was albino. But that theory was soon squashed once she realised the woman had a healthy tan.
Also, the woman was grinning like it was Christmas—which scrunched up her nose in an almost adorable fashion. There was something about her that exuded a child-like innocence. However, that didn't stop Ash from acting weary anyway.
“Uh... do I know you?” she plainly asked, only to receive a stifled gasp from the older woman and another sudden hug. Albeit a somehow more uncomfortable one as this one felt more tender. Ash didn't do tender. She did ‘slap-in-the-face-and-snap-out-of-it-#$&%wad’. The only one who had gotten away with ‘tender’ had been Rebecca with her hug back on her first day. Maybe the nurse at a stretch—but that was kinda her job...
She was getting off-topic. She was being hugged by a strange woman, for chrissakes! She could already feel her cheeks heating up with embarrassment at the thought of how this would look to the others. But thankfully the woman seemed to have the goal to embarrass her anyway.
“Oh, mon pauvre petit bébé! You don't remember your own mama?”
Ash stiffened.
“...My own wha–”
“But look at how much you've grown, chéri!” she interrupted, gushing as she pulled out of the hug and instead gripped the flustered Ash by the shoulders. “All... em... all punk, all rebelles! Ah, but it suits you mon beau!”
A strange, bubbling feeling arose in Ash's chest at that statement. It wasn't an unpleasant feeling. But it did make her think. Her dad never made much comment on her appearance barring the occasional awkward laugh and dismissive assurance whenever she asked. He'd always dodge the question, or make remark that she ‘looked fine’ regardless. But to her that just meant he didn't really like her choice in clothing.
But to hear this woman who had seconds before claimed to be her mother (which was odd, wasn't she a pyrokinetic like Dad?) now proclaim that it suited her? It made Ash feel... strange.
She felt... pretty.
Which in turn, made her feel even more weary about this woman.
“Jacqueline, are you still in there?” said woman suddenly asked, poking her on the forehead in a teasing fashion and grinning mischievously. “Your mama's come to see you, oui? Why not show me some of your friends, hein?”
Ash blanched.
“...S-Sure.”
“Merci!” the woman squealed, making Ash wince enough not to protest when she grabbed her by the hand and began to pull her towards... the von Aschemunds? Wait, that surely couldn't be random, could it?
“Uh...” Ash began, pausing only as she realised she hadn't gotten the woman's name. “Uh... Mom?”
God that felt weird to say.
“Oui chéri?”
“U-Um...” she stammered. The strangeness of the woman was throwing her off. From her attitude to the French accent and words to even her overall aura. It just felt wrong. “How do... how do you know that's one of my friends?”
The woman abruptly halted to look at her. Blankly. Her grin had vanished, and her eyes had gone dead. For a moment, Ash felt everything go silent as this mannequin stared back at her. Her brain screamed at her to run away, but before she could the woman had regained life to her eyes and everything resumed as normal.
“A mother knows her daughter, oui? And she knows when her daughter is being admired, oui?” she teased again, playfully ribbing Ash in the stomach. She promptly doubled over. The woman was strong. She didn't even seem to notice how hard she had elbowed her. Instead, she just continued speaking.
“Besides, that boy had been giving you goggle-eyes for quite a while now. Wouldn't you agree?”
Ash blankly nodded, but inside her mind was racing. Karl wasn't even facing their direction at this moment. He was physically unreadable, and while she couldn't help but admit that... something was happening between them (she didn't exactly know what yet and it was infuriating), ‘admired’ and ‘goggle-eyes’ seemed to be a bit of a stretch. She called him ‘Statue Boy’ for a reason, after all.
She was about to bring this up to the woman, but she was locked on target now. Without even looking at her Ash could tell that nothing was going to sway her from stalking her right over to Karl and his... father? Grandfather? Uncle?
Whatever. She'd find out in a minute anyway. She should take the chance to study this person more.
Reddish eyes, check. White hair, check. Tan skin that contrasted with the former two traits, check. She'd run all those through her mind anyhow. She couldn't deny that the woman's facial structure (button nose especially) was similar to her own. If she was in someone else's shoes, she would say with confidence that she was her mother.
But looking down caused her to realise something. The woman wasn't wearing casual clothing or even a formal gown or dress. Instead, she was clothed in some sort of form-fitting bodysuit; strangely armoured and plated in design. It looked uncanny. There were thin, crimson tubes framing and highlighting the suit, but its primary colouration was a disturbing vantablack.
Vantablack like on Ash's suit.
Her weariness levels flew back up to 100 at this.

borkA man wearing a prison jumpsuit and a pair of shackles approached Hong Jian. He was accompanied by a pair of superheroes. His hard was long and unkempt and he looked more haggard than usual.
Continue writing our story of peace.Sam managed to keep a rather calm expression in his face, waiting to see what would happen to him, not knowing how this will go.
Of course, because he decided to put his earphones to keep himself from worrying too much, he wasn't paying attention and got glomped by a much shorter blonde woman. Karen Everett made her appearance.
"BOO!" She said, as he chuckled and hugged her back.
"Hi mom" He said, simply "Miss me?"
"Of course, young man" She said, in a scolding tone "How else would I feel if you rarely call?" Sam could only look apologetic after all this.
"Been busy" He said, simply. It was all he could really answer.
"You are a real bad liar, you know that, Snowflake?" A male voice called to the side, as a cold breeze passed through the gym, as a taller, older version of Sam, even if the boy groaned at the use of the nickname. As he slicked his hair back, the ice boy noted the bruises and a cut just under the eye.
"Rough day at work?" Sam asked. Noel shrugged.
"A bit, big monster" He said, not giving it much importance "You wouldn't imagine how hard it is to drop a mountain on them, or just keeping them in place long enough for that" Sam just shook his head.
"You never change, Noel"
"That's why you love me, little man"
Ryuu, on the other hand was looking around for Raymond. He might be an orphan, but at least his guardian was a decent guy, even if he was a bit... Immature.
Of course, his fears got materialized by the black haired man walking in with weird sunglasses and a stupid hat. The dragon had to work up all his will to not facepalm.
"Hello, Ray" He said, with a groan.
"Heeeloo, my dragon boy" The man said, giving him a hug "What are you up to lately? Met a girl? Or is it a boy? Come on, introduce me to everyone" He said, dragging Ryuu.
"Please no"

"'Mmkay then." Ellie let them pass, before her ear twitched at Matten's words.
A quick warp later and she was cradling Dante, as she had last month. "We really must stop meeting like this." Giggling, she warped again, appearing next to the retreating Zach, a hand on his shoulder. "Sorry my BF kinda made you hurt yourself. Let me get you to the Nurse, k?"
And with that the three of them vanished.
What is so amusing about this? Why do you take lives? How can you forget?
