Jack stepped forward. "After you provided us the lycanthorpy vaccines Perry did a quick search of the nearby grounds to ease our minds, an alarm was raised. Mikeal flew ahead and engaged without the rest of us. After apprehending the werewolves we had a conversation with their leader, Orthus." They gestured to indicate the werewolf in question.
"After talking with Orthus it is highly likely he and his packmates were influenced by some sort of psionic, unfortunately the mental tampering also came with mental manipulation and as such all they remember is a man dressed in black with a glowing, green wristband." They paused, a fleeting expression of doubt crossing their face before their eyes hardened with result.
"While I realize our word has very little bearing on their sentencing as we're only students, I recommend that they be examined by court psychics for outside influence, as they should not be held accountable for the totality of their actions if they were being controlled."
"Dressed in black...not much to go on, but the strange medallion is."
She looked around at her classmates, pondering if it was possible to find someone based only on that description. At long last she shrugged.
"It's not as much to go on as I'd like, but I can try. We'll need to head to the schoolyard. Hopefully the Elemental Energy hasn't faded away. It shouldn't have."
With that motioned for Dawn, Fluffy and Shane to follow as she jogged towards the schoolyard again.
As she arrived, Iona called forth the Grimoire Iridescent, heading over to where the werewolf had been shattered to pieces. Rifling through the pages to find the right section, she then sat down on the ground, laying the book in her lap.
"Alright, let's see if this works. Any who would like to join me, grab hold. The Elemental Planes normally are not safe to enter for humans, but we're going to enter it in spirit, not form."
She took a deep breath, filling her lungs with air, feeling the ground beneath her feet. Slowly, it all faded away, giving way to endless darkness, which in turn gave way to a chaotic and kaleidoscopic landscape.
Exploring the Planes'
The world around Iona and all those who joined her was alien, almost incomprehensible. Streams of fire and water flowed in interwoven helixes in the sky. Crystalline formations glinted as the rainbow, were held aloft by swirling breezes. The ground beneath their feet was ice, rock and water all at once. The intersecting chaos of the Elements was shaped much like the schoolyard, but far more chaotic.
"Now...let us trace a path..."
With a wave of her hand, Elemental Energy coalesced, forming a kaleidoscopic pool with countless trails.
"We are looking for the Element of Dark."
The pool thinned until it was only inky blackness.
"It was in the shape of a werewolf."
The trails faded, leaving one that attached to the rapidly forming figure of the werewolf rising out of the pool.
"And...a man in a black cloak and wearing a strange medallion."
More trails formed again, spectral figures fitting that description rising out of impossibly thin trails.
Edited by UndyingPhoenix on Dec 4th 2018 at 9:35:26 PM
Unfortunately for Iona, the trails didn't last long. They bobbed and weaved, shifting and flickering before disappearing altogether. And the figures with them. Perhaps she had gotten something wrong?
Iona blinked a few times as it failed, followed by a frown.
"The description is wrong?"
There was a sudden surge of flame near Iona, a great mass of fire forming. The familiar voice of Bellpepper emanated from it.
"Yeah, genius. It was a man in a black suit and wearing a green wristband."
Iona sighed, waving her hand over the werewolf.
"We seek a man wearing a black suit and green wristband."
Once more, the trails snaked outwards from the pool, ghostly figures rising out of them.
Dawn, Permission To Go Mental Pending, Post-Vs. Werewolf > Schoolyard
And so they were waiting. Shane's description of a man in a black suit was harrowing enough, but Dawn shook her head, beginning to mumble prayers under her breath. There were multiple men with black suits out there. That cult was still recovering after its sound defeat at Albequerque five years ago. They were in the background, plotting and scheming...
But what if they weren't? Slowly, the blonde pulled her hand from Fluffy's head as she started feeling her muscles tense, not wanting to hurt the sheepy girl. She followed without the word, already on her third Our Father. She did not follow on Iona's prompt to hold onto her however, afraid that even with a loss of consciousness her body could do something unforgivable in search of release. Thus, she waited, and the prayer waited with her. The wait was killing her, little by little, but it was the best option she had.
She started shadowboxing around the seventh Our Father, keeping the monotone rhythm of left-left-right. Each of these blows could probably knock a head off its shoulders, but for now they were kept away from anyone, hitting mere air and causing it to ripple as she waited.
Coincidentally enough, Ellie and Sam warped next to Mikael just as the wolfpack reached the dorms. As the others explained the situation, Mikael moved forward to clarify, Ellie walking with him, holding his hand.
"Ellie and I saw the werewolves moving about campus and decided to engage, hoping to at least stall them until you arrived, sir. However, the wolves didn't attack us - well, one lunged at Dante, but that was after he tried to put a couple of them to sleep - and instead ran for it. We blocked them off in that tunnel, and they surrendered, not wanting conflict. The others proceeded to negotiate with them while I stood guard." He bowed his head. "I know you told us not to fight, but I couldn't stand idly by when people might have been in danger. I'll accept whatever punishment you give me."
"Me too." Ellie also bowed, slightly. "You've told us before that we shouldn't just jump into things without thinking, but that's... exactly what we did. I just... can't help it. My body moves almost without me realizing it, it's so natural."
"Yes," Mikael added, "It's the same for me. It's an impulse, that I - that we must learn to control."
He gave Ellie's hand a comforting squeeze.
Iona began sifting through the strands, feeling them out, making sure she grabbed the one that was closest to what she was looking for. And after what felt like ages, she found it.
As soon as she did, she was assaulted with a sudden wave of pain in her cranium, a flash of dark urges and violent imagery as though something or someone was forcing her out. But through it all, regardless of anything else that happened, she was able to grasp one single, solitary name.
Kilgore took a moment to take it all in. He took a deep breath, scratching his horns as he tried to sort all this out. "Okay. First off, I guess I should thank you. If you hadn't stepped in when you did, those wolves might've run of and we never would've gotten to the bottom of this. That said, you still shouldn't have run off. As soon as the wolves ran off, you should've got me or another teacher. We were hella lucky things turned out the rest they did. "
"Anyway," he said, " we're still gonna have to sort all this out. " He turned to Orthus. "In the meantime, I'm going to have to ask you to come with me. Along with the other wolves. All of you are still considered suspects. Till we get this sorted, you're all going in a holding cell. I don't like it, but it's how these things work. "
'I understand, " said Orthus. "As do the others."
" Good. Again, sorry about this. " Kilgore turned to the class. "Right. I 'm gonna be out for a bit. Again. Sorry about that."
"You want me bring hot chocolate?" Perry asked Orthus. "Rule say you put in cell, not say how you be treat."
Perry grinned like this was the cleverest thing ever.
"How do you feel, anyway?" Sam asked the others, including the werewolves, even if he looked visibly uncomfortable around the werewolves, but didn't want to be rude. "Makes me feel a bit guilty about missing the whole thing"
Looking at the leader, he asked "Still, do you want anything?" The issue with dealing with all the species or groups running around Earth is that you tend to forget what they can or cannot eat. Better ask now before they accidentally poison him.
Dawn, It's Rocky, Schoolyard
She acknowledged Mahvash's presence with a brief look and a slight nod, continuing to both pray and box. Now that she could at the very least imagine an enemy to destroy, her anger subsided somewhat. Still angry, but not to a degree of apocalyptic catastrophe. "What do you need me for?" She asked the daeva.
Alex heard Kilgore chastise the other students from their room. They should just stay inside until this all blows over, but that would just stress them out with worry. They went back outside to Fluffy, Dawn, Mahvash and company, having now dried their eyes. The clone thing was still kinda weird. but they figured that issue would settle itself by the end of the day.
"Ok, I think I'm alright now," the two voices said in unison. "Well, mostly. I'm not sure what's going on with... this."
"But anyway, um... I don't know what I can do to help right now, but I know a lot of people have been hurt deeply by what happened."
They gave Dawn in particular a sympathetic look.
"So, I don't think I can just stay in my room and wait for this to go away."

Karl Goes Flying
Karl was in a somewhat uncomfortable position. Not really all that physically uncomfortable, but mentally uncomfortable. Between him being unused to flying and Ash holding him in a position he felt rather... awkward in (not that it was indecent, it just made him feel strange), his mental discomfort more than made up for his lack of physical discomfort.
However, what more than made up for both of those was the joy of flying. He almost smiled. It was a feeling sort of like having a sneeze that just wouldn't come out now matter how much he tried, only pleasant instead of unpleasant.
"This is... well, it's... wonderful." He told Ash, emotion, though still very faint, clear in his voice. It was one of the few times he'd truly struggled to find the right words. He wished he could do this with his powers. Of course, he had other powers which more than made up for his inability to fly (being able to see in absolute darkness was very convenient), but there was a certain joy in flying that few other powers came close to.
He knew for a fact that if he weren't who he was, he would be grinning like a fool.
However, with that thought, his mood darkened a bit. His insecurities, once shoved into a corner, came back with a vengeance. He still felt the joy, but his other feelings dampened it.
Still, he tried to keep his mind on the good stuff, at least for now. He could worry about his inadequacies once he got back on the ground...
School Yard, Standard Earthly Plane - Felicity "Fluffy" Shepherd
Fluffy decided not to astrally hop into the elemental plane with Iona, wanting to make sure the elementalist had as much space as she needed to work her magic. She sat on a nearby bench and quietly kept watch of the others - with Iona standing still as her spirit did its business in the elemental plane, Dawn shadowboxing off to the side before Mahvash approached her, and Alex popping out from the building to say hello. Both of them.
"Hiii Alexes; sorry, got your text but lots of stuff going on. Iona checking to see if she can trace the shadow wolf magic back to its source. Oh, should let Kilgore know..."
Fluffy sent a quick text to their professor.
Iona tracing magical source. If yielding results, will follow up with Prof. Won't run off on Fluffy's lonesome.
Aaaand send. "So, why the both of you?"

Ash couldn't help but grin wider at his exclamation. He sounded genuinely excited by the whole thing, even despite the sheer speed they were travelling at. She'd almost expected him to act more unsettled by the whole thing, so it surprised her that he actually found the flying experience joyful.
Which is why a sudden feeling of butterflies in her stomach caused her to veer and very nearly crash them both into the right-hand wall. Thankfully, though, she managed to shake off her surprise in time to just about avoid it. Though it was enough to slow her speed considerably.
“Sorry,” she muttered under her breath, a feeling of awkwardness overshadowing her momentary butterflies considerably as she instead refocused on where exactly she was going—embarrassment clear in her voice. Surely enough though, after another corner was rounded Ash began to ease up. She was familiar with this corridor. The plastic plant she had melted still looked a little droopy.
Without even bothering to gradually slow down, she abruptly cut off her wings in a brief moment of stupidity—having forgotten she was carrying the infernal until she found herself rolling along the ground with him for a considerable distance due to the sheer momentum still being carried by them. She was honestly surprised she hadn't snapped like a twig under his weight–
Under his weight?!
Realising the position she had involuntarily ended up putting them in, she quickly wriggled out from underneath the infernal and practically scrambled towards her nearby dorm. Too flustered to even look back at him—let alone say goodbye—she practically tore open the door and slammed it shut behind her, breathing at a rapid rate as she sunk down against it and covered her burning face with her hands. She didn't seem to register Rebecca's presence.
“...#$&%ing hate mushy stuff...”

Rebecca - Dorms
As soon as Rebecca caught sight of Ash, she ran over and grabbed her by the shoulders with zero regard for personal space.
"Ash! Are you okay? What happened? Is anyone hurt? I'm so sorry I couldn't help out! Everyone's okay, right? Please tell me everyone's okay!"
Rebecca was practically shaking the other girl as her volume and intensity increased. She was quite clearly very worried about her classmates.
Edited by PossiblyQuiteInsane on Dec 5th 2018 at 10:00:26 AM
“Dude! I'm #$&%ing fine!” she snapped back, slapping away Rebecca's hand and almost tumbling over as she flinched backwards—pulling up her knees in order to gain further distance. “I'm just... I'm just #$&%ing fantastic. #$&%...”
Guilt from her outburst at her clearly concerned roommate soon set in, and Ash soon sucked up her ego and sent an apologetic look up to Rebecca—one accompanied by a rather watery looking smile as she reasserted herself somewhat.
“...I'm... I-I'm okay. Just... just dealing with a lot of s***, y'know? Sorry I snapped at you like that,” she quietly apologized, gaze beginning to wander as her cheeks began to heat up again with embarrassment at the whole situation. “Just... really #$&%ing hate having to deal with mushy s***, y'know? An' what with prickface and the werewolves and s***...”
She pursed her lips, looking down as she hauled herself up back onto her feet. Almost immediately her arms wrapped around herself, and she began to rock back and forth. It was perhaps the most insecure Ash had visually been throughout the whole day.
“Ain't built to deal with this s***, y'know?” she choked. “I'm a #$&%ing slacker, man. An' this ain't easing me into things. #$&%, I don't even wanna be here,” she confessed, her voice wavering dangerously. “Just... #$&%.”
She was clearly trying her hardest not to become emotional at this point. But the whole stint with Karl had been the last push for her. She was at her breaking point, and she knew it. She hated it. And she hated it even more because she was still on day one.
First impressions her ass. No way she'd be bouncing back from this.
Edited by Enirboreh on Dec 5th 2018 at 3:25:21 PM
Rebecca backed up as Ash pushed her away. She was most definitely not okay. The poor girl seemed moments away from a nervous breakdown. Concern for the class as a whole was quickly supplanted by concern for her roommate.
Rebecca did the first thing that came to mind, slowly walking up to Ash and gently pulling her into a hug.
"It'll be okay. This is my second year here, and things like this aren't the norm. Most of the time, it's just a normal school, besides the training. We'll have fun, y'know? I'm sure someone here knows how to throw a good party, take our minds off of things."
God, this was clumsy as hell and Rebecca knew it. Still, she hoped it was getting through to her roommate.
Kilgore then led the werewolves out of the dorms and toward what was presumably a holding cell. Orthus patted Perry's head and accepted her offer before he did.
Edited by kkhohoho on Dec 5th 2018 at 10:14:47 AM
Ash stiffened with surprise at the hug, her face the epitome of conflicted for the longest time, until she eventually relented and relaxed into it, realising that if she was already on the border of breaking down then there was little point in resisting it further.
It was at this point that her brain decided to prompt her to do a very stupid thing.
Before she realised it, she hiccupped—and quite simply broke down into sobs.
The girl who had so far been so adamant against dealing with the so-called ‘mushy s***’ would naturally have been keeping a lot of things pent up. And this was reflective in the way she tightened her grip on the taller girl. Everything she must have been bottling up and neglecting to address was coming out all at once. And she hated the extent of the tears.
At the very least she wasn't wailing. God she'd have hated it if she had done that. Not that she didn't already, mind. But she had almost felt like an artery was about to burst from sheer stress up until she had decided to let it all out. Unpleasant and spontaneous, but necessary. She quite liked her arteries.
After a few more stifled sobs, she slowly pulled away, head hanging low in absolute shame. Gum-sucker to sobber. Pathetic. She couldn't even meet her roommate's gaze anymore. She just moved over to the couch and lowered herself down—blankly staring at the floor.
"I'm not really sure," Alex said to Felicity. "Ever since I got my powers, I've been able to summon a 'clone' of myself, I guess you could call them, when I felt I needed some protection. Usually this happens during a fight and I have control over it, but I guess I'm still getting a handle on my powers."
Karl stood perfectly still, stiff as a board, like a mannequin that had come to life only to realize that being a mannequin was preferrable to being a real boy and try to become a piece of dead plastic again.
His left shoulder was smoldering, as he hadn't fireproofed his outfit at all. He didn't seem to notice. He was too overwhelmed with all of his many other inadequacies to curse his idiocy and lack of foresight for that single, relatively small mistake.
He stared blankly in the general direction of the ceiling, hands clasped behind his back, looking perhaps as if he were contemplating a lightbulb.
How could he have been so idiotic? So incompetent? He had made one of the few people in this school who actually seemed to like him upset not once but twice over the course of a single day, and he didn't even know what he'd done the second time.
As if that weren't enough, all of his old insecurities, worries, and dark thoughts came flooding back with a vengeance, full-force. At that moment, he truly did not beleive himself capable of being a hero or even a halfway decent person. At that moment, he felt like a fake, a fraud, an infiltrator.
His shell, which he had only just begun to come out of, was going up again. He knew he should probably go apologize, to try to make amends to whatever he had done wrong, even if he only got verbally abused for his efforts, but he didn't.
Instead, he went back to his dorms and got into his new bed. He had slept last night, but today had been a long day, and he figured the best course of action was probably to go to sleep.

"Well, that's a problem solved for now," Hong Jian said. "Though I heard a werewolf was killed. What's up with that?"
Top sighed deeply as he looked at the door to his Dorm Room. Today had been hectic enough and it was only the first of many. At the very least, things had been resolved. Better enter quietly. Iris and Karl are probably sleeping. he thought. There would be no such luxury for him tonight. Every part of his body was primed for combat and ready to respond to the attacks of an enemy with a barrage of punches.
