Like, this even looks better than Jo Jo on how it’s animated
The pacing of the anime, while still kind of disjointed, is comparably more bearable than the manga so I'll definitely be keeping up with this. The brief flash about the Nun's memories was interesting, and I teared up a bit when they laid the father to rest and gave the Daughter that picture.
That said I don't think I'll ever get into this op, overall I prefer the Ed because it feels more cohesive in addition to having a song I prefer

I absolutely cannot help but adore handsome 2D boysThe OP looks very slick.
I remember really being impressed when I first read the manga about how Shinra lost his family and how he came to terms with it during his first battle.
I totally forgot about the one Infernal who didn't attack for this episode. I haven't reread since the Rookie games when that one villain appears so I need to catch up.
Episode 2:
So Shinra used to have a rival in the academy named Arthur Boyle and he's still his rival even after joining Company 8 and yeah, I think Arthur's inspiration came from King Arthur of course. Also, Maki is a no-nonsense character as she is able to beat Arthur and Shinra despite being second generation but have to admit that the interaction between the fire that she controlled and Director Hinawa is funny as hell. After that debacle, they now embark a new mission to put a rest to an innocent girl's father... Poor her. In the meantime, something sinister is lurking in the shadows and he's intimidating as hell.
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."Again, the comedy bits of this episode were weirdly paced, with even a couple of jump cuts (like Maki taking a pose in one shot but having a different pose the next)… Maki's fire pets are cute though.
Now the second half of the episode was pretty moving. I really felt for that poor girl. =( It's good that the members of the 8th are taught compassion first and foremost.
…And now we're having a tournament arc? 3 episodes in? Okay. >.>
@Envyus Pretty interesting analysis you got there and yeah, it kind of reflects in the show... Though I wanted to know what First Generation do since I haven't read the manga yet and plan to do so in the future
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."Fire force has a dub?
Arthur seems like a bit of a clown, but I loved Mika's line about how knights should kneel in front of a princess...probably my favorite line of the episode. I think Mika might be my favorite character, her or Obi.
The episode was okay, though not as good as last week's. I'm guessing this shady dude is our arc 1 villain.

I recall the manga is still ongoing @LSBK so yea...
Anyways, is it me or is the artstyle reminds me a bit of Durararara mixed with Black Clover?
