Well...
That was a lot of stuff.
Looks like Jinn is out of the picture for the rest of the series with all her questions spent.
Yeah, everyone in Team RWBY is definitely falling at the end of the season. Or at the very least, falling doesn't mean you're just straight up dead.
....Well RIP Jacques, pretty sure that's the end of him.
Damn it Robyn, you have the worst timing. But also Hariet, why do you continue to have to be the worst?
Look at her. Her eyes are dull and rolled up. She didn't even try to grab Gambol Shroud. She's completely limp as she falls.
Its over. Yang Xiao Long is Killed Off for Real. Because RT cares more about shocking their audience than telling a compelling story.

All right. Here goes.
The gag of Jaune being thrown through... doesn't make sense? Why? If anything, it would make the most sense for them to throw Emerald through, or for Jaune to volunteer and then react as he did.
The camp civilian who throws the rock is a bit grating with the lack of m/m outside the novels.
So we are definitely going to be in Vacuo next volume. We might not make it to the city, but we're definitely going to be there.
I'm on my second viewing, and I still don't know what Cinder meant by "how did you know about that?"
And countless civilians are thrown into the void. It is interesting how mass death is "family-friendly" iff it's presented with a complete lack of empathy.
...all right, I was wrong about the third question involving Summer. But to be fair, I don't think any of us anticipated the third question being so trivial. Now I'm even more sure that Summer and/or Raven asked the first question, though.
I'm... not even sure what freed Ironwood? Watts?
Aaand Ironwood kills Jacques for no good reason with a BFG. I have an uncomfortable feeling that we're being presented with Trump and Franco and being asked to cheer, however briefly, for Franco. It's just that "brief" cheer that gave the world Franco and his ilk.
So now we know why Arryn was complaining about screaming. And Yang's body dissolves in the ether. I'm sure she's dead. Seriously, though, the only question is this: will she be brought back in the next episode, will the next episode introduce the means of rescuing her, or will we spend an entire volume break pretending she's actually dead?
The single tear is a bit much, Jimmy.
Weiss, this one's on you. Frankly, you as well, Ozpin.
My posts make considerably more sense read in the voice of John Ratzenberger.Honestly I'm not a big fan of the constant hope spots and then dashing said hope spots. Having multiple hope spots a volume just ends up getting kind of ridiculous after while.
V7 and 8 have a cycle of "Yay, good thing happen! We feel good now! Aww, bad thing happen and we feel bad now! Yay, good thing happen and we feel good again! Aww, bad thing happen and we feel bad again!". That gets repeated so much that it is kind of investment killing.

For all the issues I have with the show, stuff like this is why I don't take it's critics seriously.

As James Bond would say about Jacques' death, "Looks like his assets were finally frozen."

He/His/Him. No matter who you are, always Be Yourself. So, with Jacques dead, who's going to be leading the SDC now?
He/His/Him. No matter who you are, always Be Yourself. So, anyway, what are your predictions for the final chapter?
He/His/Him. No matter who you are, always Be Yourself.I'll just point out that Pyrrha's name near-literally translates to Pyrrhic Victory. If anything, she was designed to die early to set the stakes. Also, RT would have to be mad to off one half of their most-pushed LGBT ship with so little fanfare. The internet would eat them alive.
Anyway, that... is a lot of stuff planned for the finale. In no particular order, there's:
- Penny v. Cinder
- Ruby v. Neo
- The two fights can intermingle, too; also, Jaune and Nora still need to evacuate.
- Oscar, Ren and Emerald v. the Grimm (maybe we'll get The Cavalry from Theodore and friends.)
- Winter v. Ironwood (what are you guys even fighting over though? The Staff's not in the Vault anymore)
- Qrow v. Harriet
- Blake and Weiss are hanging out, kind of unaccounted for
- Elm and Marrow are presumably on Robyn's ship; Vine's hanging out (literally)
- Watts still needs to evacuate too...

If they have the staff they might be able to mitigate the damage somewhat.
And Tyrian and Mercury are already there. Maybe we’ll finally meet the summer maiden
