Hey, I did a performance to this track with my uni's fusion dance crew last year! Caravan Palace is an electroswing band, which combines classical '20s-'40s swing jazz samples with modern electronic dance beats. I don't really "get" the video's story myself, but I guess that's why they used a lot of film noir motifs in it. And judging by the anthropomorphic animals, I'm guessing that it's not set in a place recognisable to us.
Their music is rather skewed towards the "electronic" side of the genre; for a more rounded look at the genre's aesthetics, I'd recommend Jamie Berry
, Parov Stelar
and Boogie Belgique.

I was listening to "Lone Digger" by Caravan Palace on Youtube the other day. Its good music, but I enjoyed the animation as well. Actually, the animation is swell, so much so that I'd love to make or read a story with a similar feel. Unfortunately, I don't know what genre to categorize the animation into. Is it suspense? Thriller? It's certainly not hard boiled detective or crime, so I dunno.
Any of you guys have any ideas? Otherwise, do any of you all know when(what year) the animation takes place, or where(what city)?
What does signature do?
